Sochi prices skyrocket, but tourism booms

i dont see anything attractive or pretty about this place. why is it so popular? I assumed it must be fantastic but it looks dissapointing and over priced too.

the ferris wheel made me feel uneasy. looks pretty similar to the one in Pripyat.
