  • Thumbs up and respect to all firefighters. Thumbs down to the music though.

  • I know what it feels like to be trapped and run out of air... with flames burning all around and closing in on me

  • Firefighters, you are not gone, you have went ahead and are waiting for everybody to catch up.

  • excellent video my heart goes out to the fallen firefighters as we all pray for safety on all of our calls. Be safe out there everyone.

  • Thank you, from a former female firefighter, 9 yrs. in Calif. Received a 2nd degree burn in one fire, but my career ending incident was when an 18-wheeler semi tractor-trailer truck crashed into the rescue squad I was driving one day...totaling it, and damned near me with it. No longer a firefighter... but I still wish my brothers & sisters God's Blessings on them, hoping they return home at the end of each shift.

  • по сравнению с нашыми пожарными ето детский сад!!!

  • R.I.P ALL FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS.... YOU ALL WILL BE MISSED!!!!

  • fuck u youtube u took away the audio

  • oh for fucks sake. give the music back!!!

  • GREAT VIDEO AND POEM BRO. Im a volunteer in Pa. and its always a heart break to hear of a brother or sister not making it out. weather you are or are not a firefighter, paid or volly, you have to show the largets amout of respect to the men and women that dont make it home to their families... stay safe brothers and sisters of the fire depts every where

  • It just shows how much you guys love each other. Firefighters who may not even know the department show up for this one fallen brother or sister.

  • great video. hard for me to watch though. my father and i are both firefighters in NJ. I was on scene at a working fire doing exterior work while he was taking a hose line in. He fell through the floor and i heard him call out a mayday. One of the worst days of my life. I basically collappsed on the ground when i heard it go over my radio. I Thank God everyday that the only injury he had was a burn on his leg. That was the third time he almost didnt make it. First time he survived a flashover.

  • great vid guys im a firefighter at whiteford vfc in whiteford maryland and my heart dropped just thinking of all our fallen comrades great vid thanxs guys.

  • GOD BLESS ALL THOSE IN THE FIRE SERVICE

  • Me and my friend used this in a cadet mayday drill. it's amazing.

My heart goes out to our fallen.

  • im glad to hear that its getting out there

  • is this your dad

  • can someone explain the rank associated with the color helmets some places have firefighters as blacks and others as yellows but ive never seen black and yellow on the same dept???? please help me to understan

  • black means volunteer, red usually means capt. blue is medic, white is fire chief.

  • Not intirely i am a volunteer my helmet is yellow. Red is engineers or officers below chiefs, yellow with a captain rocker on it is captain. blue is medic and white is fire cheif. The only ones to worry about are white and blue.

  • I volunteer my helmet is yellow that means probie or when u first join black means your just a fire fighter red is engineer white is chief blue is medic

  • LOL, when in doubt do what the white helmet tells you! The EMS are the only ones allowed to tell us to sit in rehab, even though we fuss and moan that we have to get back it in!

  • i hate ems telling me to go to rehab...our sogs say rehab after 2 45min bottles

  • NFPA requires 15 in rehab after you down a 45.

  • This varies, however I have been told that engineer's have to wear red helmets, a new regulation(NFPA). Our department yellow helmets are firefighters, blue are Captains, and white are Chiefs. I think that white for Chiefs seems to be universal. Other departments simply choose to have firefighters wear black helmets. The gear is the same some departments have black some have tan(like mine). This is the case in volunteer and career departments. Our EMS/FF are yellow with star of life on helmet.

  • in my dept. orange is a probie, black is a firefighter, red is an officer(Lt. or Capt.) and white is a chief, its all pretty much the same, just diff. depts use diff. colors

  • its the same in my department to

  • my fire dept. is volunteer so blue is age 16-18, yellow is probie, black is firefighter, orange is LT, green is safety officer, red is captain and white is chief. Stay safe and never forget our fallen brothers.

  • Im a Volunteer Fire Fighter too. This video shows what all Fire Fighters go threw, SOme dont get respect they need. Im with the Rosedale Indiana Volunteer Department

  • thanks for the video man im a firefighter with carriere volunteer fire department in carriere mississippi we are all a family and if one goes we all go thats just the way it is thanks again

  • thanks brother thank yous go a long way so thanks again

  • god bless all firefighters and police officers. RIP all who have passed.god bless the families.

  • Great Video Sorry About The FireFighter Who Lost His Life. My Heart Gos Out To Him And His Family.

  • great video goes with the peom perfectly

from a brother just down 17w dvfd

  • The life of a fire fighter is not all excitement and action. For the most part, it is 59 minutes of boredom in which you find something productive or humorous and frivolous to occupy your mind and one minute of abject horror and thoughts of your own mortality.

I was lucky when I was doing it. No matter how well you plan, though, you have to remember that things can go horribly wrong.

Poetry is one of the things that help some men deal with it.

    Well done, brother.

  • Risk a lot to save a lot..

    rish little to save little.

  • Just a question...

If it was confirmed that the building was unoccupied, then why did the firefighter's enter the burning structure?

  • Even if there is no one inside, depending on the condition of the building, the length of burn time and command's discretion an interior attack is still very common to see. Opposite of what many people believe firefighters do not simply conduct surround and drown operations when the occupants are out. Our job is to save lives AND property.

  • Oh. Thank you.

  • although everyone was out there still could have been a child. or someone else in the house.

  • AGAIN I URGE YOU ALL TO TAKE NOTE

there was no real members hurt in the photo's seen here, these are just photos from my dept. to go along with the poem.

SO MOJO please shut up, ofcourse if no one was at risk at a big fire scene we owuldnt go in, were not some hot shot gun ho fire dept. so stfu

  • @x2sean1x : IF YOUR A REAL FIREMAN U WILL GO IN TO SAVE UR BROTHER...

  • yeah im not really 27 tho, im 17 getting off probation in june

  • @x2sean1x

Hi to all i am a firefighter with Redwater TX VFD our hearts and prayers go out to all fallen about two years back we had a fallen brother May god bless.

  • I agree that we all need to rethink the interior attack" if no one is inside. Why are we willing to put brothers in damager if no one is in the house

(Risk Vs. Benefit what is the benefit of going into a fully invovled structure with no one inside thats a risk not a benefit) No disrespect to our fallen brothers

My prayers are with them and their families

  • In Worcester, MA, we had a report that 2 people were inside..later we found out they had escaped...looking for them, we lost 6 great and courageous firefighters. We did not know. Our chief blocked the enterance or else we could have lost triple that amount. Sometimes you hjust do not know or you are giving a false report.

  • Pjirishman I so sorry for your lose. Please tell us when did this happen

  • Dec.3,1999.....but it seems like it happened yesterday. We were eating dinner together, 6 hours later, those seats were empty. Some things change your life and your life will never be the same, professionally or personally.

  • Christ!!! A bit melowdramatic don't you think?

No disrespect to our fallen brothers, but yes, a poor risk assessment at best. Been to a lot of fires and all you have to do is revisit the structures a few weeks later to learn what your putting your life on the line for. If it's just the structure and it's contents, 90% of the time that's all going to end up in the landfill.

  • melow dramatic why dont u show some fuckin respect for the dead jackass we do our job no matter what is burning

  • Risk Vs. Benefit what is the benefit of going into a fully invovled structure with no one inside thats a risk not a benefit

  • theres no reason for an internal attack when theres no one in the house and thers no way that house was gonna b saved them going in was just shear stupidity

  • I just came clear out of my chair at when I heard the tones go off on this video, I thought it was my pager going off... Great job on the movie though...

  • first of all if theres no one in the house y wud they go in if theres nothing to b saved go defensive and protect the things around it that house wasnt being saved anyways if theres no one inside theres no reason to go in unless its saveable

  • they go in to do what is called an "internal attack" Attack from the inside while others attack from the outside...

  • or "interior attack"

  • I wasn't paying attention when the movie started....and sadly I jumped out of my chair thinking it was my pager. Great video. Keep up the good work.

  • I answer the bell.

This is a good tribue with real footage. I hope that my son never gets my flag, but if he does, I hope he understands and is proud.

  • Since this appears to be a simulation, I dont feel bad about saying that if all the occupants are out and the fire is a as big a worker as this one, we have no business going inside. Even Chief Goldfedder says "We don't lost firefighters to save property anymore." If there is nobody in there, its a defensive/external fight.

  • I don't know why this comment has gotten thumbs down when what this person is saying makes the most sense. It's completely retarded to lose anyone for property damage and if you think otherwise you're an idiot. Saving people is one thing, dying to save a building is something altogether different.

  • i agree with that statement

  • Brother,

    I agree.

    PCFD 551

  • One Hell of a Video! nice sound track!

  • When my pager goes off, I'm always ready.

  • awesome... my respect goes to that firefighter. ps. I never get tired hear the sound of the pager! especially when its mine!

  • My dad is a firefighter and an EMT I want to follow in his footsteps I think it is a cool job but also one with honnor to every fiefighter who lost there live or who are reading this

    THANK YOU

  • no no no im not dumb ive been a volunteer firefight on long island now for about 3 years

    mastic 305

  • Nice poem and video/slides.

  • AWSOME video....THANKS!!!

2290...hang tough bro....the wait is well worth it...and like FFchick said get on a vol. dept while waiting and get some good exp. it will be well worth it...

  • the brotherhood of firefighters is unreal i cant wait to to finally get into a department on a 3 year waiting list

  • Wow a three year waiting list? Must be a career department.

  • Depending on where you live you could always volunteer with a company now. Then you would have some training and expericnce under your belt. It will help with the academy and besides ALL volunteer companies(fire and EMS)desperately need volunteers.

  • It's sad too...I guess people aren't willing to do the job just to save someone...

That is the ONLY reason I won't to do the job.

  • yes join a volly company while you wait u dont want to go into carreer with no prior knowledge

  • being on a vol. dept is great.. i dont care that i aint paid... just doing it is well worth it man :)

  • very nice video

  • nice video

  • Im liking the tones!!!!! good job on the vid!! Take a look at the Saltsburg "Vol. Fire Dept." vid ON MY PAGE and tell me what you think!!!#@

  • the men in these photos did not die, none were hurt, it is a poem i used with photos from my department

  • To all my bro and sis play it safe I know its part of the job and its a rush but play it safe rather than dead and bless all those who died in the line of duty and there loved ones too.

  • i personally dont see why the 2 firefighters went in if the condition was descreasing and the people were out. it all seems sketchy to me. sorry if some people misconstrue this comment but i am not bashing them. i support every single one of my brothers dead or alive

  • i see what u r sayin but they were prolly trying to save the house. all the structure fires i have been too have never fallen or collapsed on me or my fellow firefighters we saved teh building the most we could

  • true that

  • I see where you are coming from. There is a difference in fighting to contain the fire to the area(s) already lost. However going into a fully involved or unstable area isn't going to save that area or buiding. It only takes one time to be fatal.

  • i know what u r sayin but in my fire department even if they report everyone out we go in to double check and get the inside conditions

  • No offense taken. If there are reports that everyone is out(use your meeting places)then if there is a possiblity of an area being unsafe we surround and drown. We still try and save what we can in the stable areas of the structure that is on fire.

If the structure or area is fully involved, there are no survivors. It sounds cruel to some but when those conditions exist, anyone inside is already gone. So to risk diving into the flames when it is a recovery not a rescue doesn't make any sense.

  • thanks for making this video...it is real touching...

  • what the fuck that shit off the comment board

  • If you want to honor ALL the fallen brothers and sisters, then please use common sense and practice fire safety. MOST fires can be prevented. Use SMOKE DETECTORS, have fire extinguishers on hand. When it comes time for donations for your volunteer companies, please give what you can, every penny counts towards saving lives including our own.

  • Very POWERFUL and moving

  • alsome video i should let the guys my deparment c this video

  • well here in detroit a firefighter was killed responding to a house fire when a suv crashed in to them thorwing out the rig driver and the rig ran over him its sad to see things like that he died not in a fire but going to a fire.firefighters dont think they die on the way to a call but in a fire.

  • Excellent tribute to any Firefighter! "TRAIN to bring 'em ALL home SAFE!" BE FIRE SAFE! 3w's.hftfire dot com Learn to TEACH our community to SAVE the LIFE of a dedicated FIREFIGHTER thru IMMEDIATE, 100% FIRE VICTIM ACCOUNTABILITY! ...but especially when we first ARRIVE... and then in one peice! 3w's.fireandlifesafety dot ORG He will never be forgotten! May GOD lift all the souls closest to his heart now and the years to come. My deepest condolences... Fire Captain (med-ret)

  • Do home fire drills, have a single meeting place outside the home, crawl along a wall to find your way out, get fire escape ladders for upper floors(sold at almost any store),teach your kids YOUNG, it can be the difference between life and death.

  • Well done but very sad circumstances esp in light of the 9 firefighters who paid the ultimate price in Charleston this week. God Bless them for their bravery and my thoughts are with the families of all who have lost loved ones. Peace.

  • i'm a jr. FF only 14... thats deep man. it's really deep. GREAT JOB!!!!

  • 5 star with a tear in my eye god bless all fire fighters !!!!

  • I've been FF for 17 yrs now a LT of an EGN. comp. My Uncle Lost his life in a flashover in a basement. His Crew made it out only because he being the officer made sure that they all made it up the stairs He did not He was LT of a Ladder comp. but acting as eng comp. May all fallen brothers rest in peace

  • This is not a side show. This is about the lives of real men and real women. The subject mattter should be treated with respect so that others can learn and live. When someone dies you never forget it. 19 died when a tall whisky warehouse exploded in Glasgow Scotland in 1960. That was before most of the people reading this were born. There was no crazy music, just grief for the fallen, and quiet remembrance.

  • may all fallen firefighters rest in peace.
