Dont understand this argument against twitter. If you aren't interested in what a particular person has to say, you wouldn't be following them in the first place. Its not a shout into the darkness, its a convenient way to share information with people who WANT to hear about it. Its not just about your close friends either, twitter is a social network based on TOPICS of interest. If i want to know what songs a band is playing live right NOW then I can get that info instantly with trending topics.

This video is wonderful.  Mostly I think the same way about the use of Twitter. Except I have one friend who lives in a town where she doesn't know anyone and uses Twitter to connect to the outside world where she knows people. That makes sense to me as a good use of Twitter.
