  • Ha. Its funny hearing my dad talk about his job on youtube. He sounds more professional than he does at home.

  • Could you upload the image, I want it as wallpaper! THNX

  • @nahuco I just found it on your web site, nice.

  • yep see his blog, page 12. me thinks something is clearly askew..

but regardless, with all that post, this boat load of lights, whether profoto or broncolor, is very unnecessary... to the point of being kinda stupid... but then if you own all the gear yourself and charge the client a rental fee that is proportional to the amount of gear used... hum, never mind, I take it back.. genius

  • c pourri

  • on gary lands blog around page 12 there are posts from a shoot with messi and adidas showing behind the scene photos of the set. broncolor packs, heads, and mods were used. so profoto has some explaining to do unless he shot another campaign for adidas with lionel messi on turf in a studio with a boat load of lights

  • @alejo0o0o Not in 2009 when he wore the number 18. /watch?v=v0PyMprGiqs

  • there is a huge mistake in the photo. Messi wears the number ten shirt in Argentina!!

  • Might well have flown to Marseille and shot the stadium for an hour and a half but the plate in this video is very clearly the Camp Nou in Barcelona where Messi plays his club football.

    Why make this up?

  • @cisys Because Barcelona is sponsored by nike, not adidas. This is an adidas ad.

  • @thediegogee Not sure I understand your point. Watch the video and then read my comment.

Photographer says the background is taken from a game he shot in France - he says they were there to shoot the game specifically for this campaign. But the background in the campaign is not from a game in France - the background is the Camp Nou. Which is in Barcelona. Which is definitely, definitely not in France.

  • @cisys I did watch the video. Because this was ALL done for adidas (the ad is for the shoe), I'm sure they wouldn't want to anger them by saying that the stadium is actually the camp nou. As I said, FCB is sponsored by Nike. So the ad shouldn't have anything to do with them with the exception of the Adidas sponsored Messi.

  • @thediegogee So Barca are sponsored by Nike & this an Adidas campaign - I get that.

If the ad should have nothing to do with Nike or FCB why use the Camp Nou for Messi in an Argentina kit? Argentina won't play Mexico there any time soon so what's the point of the deceit? Why say the b.g. is Marseille when it isn't? Why not use, say, the River Plate Stadum? Or a composite stadium?

Nike won't be deceived by the subterfuge so why bother? Would Nike even care what the photographer says? Why lie?

  • @cisys The stadium is not Camp Nou... Its a French Stadium, said so by Gary at 3:17

  • @shadowing00 I promise you that the stadium shown at 3.17 is the Camp Nou. The red ad-hoarding at the bottom says Barca in the text and the sponsors either side of the scoreboard are Estrella Damm and Voll-Damm. Those signs are still there today. Wikipedia them and see where these companies are based. That is the Camp Nou. End of story. Do a google image search for 'Mes Que Un Club' and you'll see this very same view.

  • @cisys Ohhh I see Camp Nou. I get you,and i stand corrected... Hey if Chile played Mexico at Camp Nou, Argentina can decide to play against Mexico in a friendly there someday. Might never know...

  • You flew to France just to get one plate that looks like it could have been created in photoshop from stock images? Mmmm, nice ... when the client pays for it.
