  • These are not like the Rebels in Star Wars.... alot of innocent people were brutally murdered aswell by these people.

  • Looking more and more at how the world is, I`m getting really tired trying to understand how despicable and lowly this civilization is disposed to be and to become . Humanity as it is now, truly seems to be a failed experiment.

  • So in one Documentary, Al Jazeera criticizes United States for not condemning and intervening their "allies" Bahrain and Saudi Arabia´s uprisings,

which is justified and I agree with,

on the other hand they criticize the NATO and US intervention on Libya´s uprisings ?

    huh

  • Gaddafi always had opposition thru is 40+ years in power. It is only in 2011 that all the small sections banded up together to kick him out. So whoever the rebels might be, it would be safe to assume that they are better than Gaddafi. As for the fact that that the rebels needed external assistance, the US didnt even take a primary lead here, Europe, most notably France and Qatar took it. And to be fair France and Qatar were just paying back Gaddafi for whatever he had done to them.

  • Libyans, get blown up to bits after 43 years, get up, get killed, suffer, get some guns, kick the cruelist dictator of all times ass sideways and all his family, get the whole world to look at us, and prove every asshole wrong, and get back to work in a free Libya in under 8 months, brilliant!!!!!!. Libyans were one of a kind!!!!

  • But this documentary isn't particularly pro NATO/US. It's rather ambivalent, and especially in the concluding segment highlights the contradictions and short-shortsightedness - not to mention oil politics - that have mired the intervention.

  • /watch?v=zWubZZ3rCEk&feature=feedf

  • If NATO is helping the people, why have so many turned back to Quidaffi's side since the start of the bombing.

People say Nato is killing more civilians than soldiers.....

  • if CIA is helping the rebels, then they are being tricked into fighting for wrong reasons,

CIA is force of evil NWO alien agenda

  • They want another puppet government! duh

  • changing the regime in Bahrain is must. majority of people got burn in hell by a brutal regime, how long can this regime continuing of roling country with force? the day will come

  • This report is a crude mixture of superficial research, gossip and pretentious global politics comments. Obviously, from a lack of background understanding and orientation, one tends to meet more people of the same kind, and may end at perceiving it all as "chaos".

Fortunately, people like these are not (and hopefully will not become) the ones to make responsible decisions.

  • the part in the road with incoming missiles jumping in the truck n speeding off is fake i think, all by chance the cameraman aims exactly where the random missiles land?

  • @G9PitBull

His camera was facing the front line and the checkpoint, based on his location it makes sense that a rocket would land in that range if fired from Gaddafi-occupied territory.

  • what a load of rubbish. spectating for the point of spectating. this is the definition of creative licence !! so many questions are asked in this inaccurate waste of time that have been extensively answered. this has probably been commissioned to show that al jazeera is attempting to be impartial!

Allah Bless Libya, and the people of libya!

  • These rebels seem familiar; I've known people like them, and I'm sure their type can be found all over the world. You know who I mean, the braggart, the egoist, the coward, the Judas, the liar, the rapist.

This video is more balanced than most of the Al-Jazeera content these days. Fault Lines is the best!

  • beard with no mustache = salafi wahabi ...

around minute 11:40 i could count more than 5 guys with beards and no mustaches...

hahaha, super weird, i guess the west is now in alliance with the al-qaeda wahabis

  • @Kooshkoff I don't recall voting for war....and Canada doesn't even have an army..lol

  • The Rebels are traitors, everyone knows that - a traitor is no-ones friend in any Nation but a servant of Empire - or at least neo-colonialism. I never supported Ghaddafi before but he's certainly right on this one. It's been shockingly stupid...

we need a clean fucking slate...

  • Leslie Gelb "the rebels started the uprising." Are you kidding? Didn't the Patriots in the US Revolutionary war start the uprising against England by sending King George the Declaration of Independence? It does not matter who started it. It matters why and for what reasons. Forty two years of oppression, human rights abuses, brutality, and squandering national wealth seem to be just as good a reason as "no taxation without representation."

  • all women told him to go there.

  • Impeach Obama now for Libya among 50 other impeachable offenses! He committed acts of war against Libya without Congressional approval conflicting with Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution “{Congress shall have powers} To declare War…”

  • I paused at :58 to answer the question, as I see it, before watching the clip. Why Libya because the rebel Libyans begged the world to help on social media such as this. Libyans born there but living in other countries now held rallies begging the governments to help their homeland. People holding positions in Gaddafi's government pleaded with the international organizations for help. So it seemed like the right thing to do.

  • this documentary was scrupulously neutral in tone. it even mentioned Qatar's role with oil shipments and armaments. some of you fucking people are tinfoil hat RETARDS.

  • A state run news report. Thanks for your point of view.

  • OBAMA: are u saying if u did NOT intervene it will stay in the conciense of the WORLD? hahaha.. u r a complete JOKE.

wat about Rwanda Genocide, wat did America do..NOTHING...over 800,000 died and u smile like it never happened.

what about over 1 million ppl death in IRAQ?

What about vietnam, remember ur agent orange u used which has DESTROYED the ENTIRE GENERATION OF VIETNAMESE, WOMEN STILL GIVES BIRTH TO DEFORMED CHILDREN and so on and on.

  • 90 percent of the anti-nato crowd commenting here would have blamed the united states if gaddaffi carried out a bloodbath in benghazi. GUARAN-FUCKING-TEED these people would hammering the west if gadaffi did to benghazi what he did to misurata. you fucking hypocritical bastards

  • @phooey108 u aint worth replying to

  • People quickly forget that it was at the last second really when the allies intervened... we did not "rush" into the conflict we waited until there was no other option. Gaddafi had more than enough time to stop killing his people and now that NATO intervened NOW he wants peace (even though he has said multiple times about a cease fire and has not delivered at all). Gaddafi waited until the last second and now it is to late for him to stay

  • This was very good

  • There are many uncertainties raised by this video and rightly so. But when I look at the faces of Libyans who are glad to be free of dictatorship and Gaddafi can't stop them from expressing themselves I am happy for them. I hope everything works out in Libya but a great victory has already been won.

  • I think, it was a good idea to wait before recognizing the NTC as legitimate government by the US, because they could disprove antiamerican resentments about oil as the main factor of the US.

We can see one thing: The west is very keen to let the oil flow again, which can only happen, if the war is being won. It suprises me a little bit, that they did not choose gaddafi as the oil producer, because he would have won very soon already in March, but the rebels are known to be ineffective....

  • @MardasMan

That means, that the western states are helping the weaker site resulting in financial losses of oil producing for the benefit of democracy and freedom, at least that's the aim (we don't know, if that really will happen, after Gaddafi is ousted). In my view the intervention in libya was the victory of humanitarian values over economic interests. The outcome will prove, if that will come to reality...

  • Oil is the economic backbone of industrialized energy consuming nations and oil producing nations alike. Whomever controls the oil has an incredible amount of power over the economies of both. Oil producers that screw around with the energy security of a heavily dependent client in an effort to undermine the clients economic security should not be surprised that there will be consequences. The only way to stop the "cycle of violence" is to develop alternative energy NOW..

  • the North AMERICAN Terrorist Organization is at it again.....what about the horrific crimes being perpetrated here at home? i am pretty sure the people here do not care about Gaddafi let them fight their own wars

  • I am getting tired of the, If we dont do this or that. The world will end or people will die. They are threatening you me everyone. Our servants have become our masters and no one cares. Its ok I will be dead soon enough and the rest of you will have to deal with the hell you have made. We are all slaves.

  • @lastpatriot4America Don't worry, no one will come for you when you are threatened with genocide.

  • It's always about the oil...

  • Yeeessss, all these people care about the Libyans...

  • Al Jazeera is owned by Qatar, which for one reason or another opposes Gaddafi, hence the unusual stance of Pro NATO / US

  • @ThePacman333

the Antisec movement when they hacked Booz Allen got information on corrupting in the middle east royal families in S.A, UAE, Quatar, they offered Al Jazeera 24hrs with their database if they reported on the corruption but I guess they didn't want to.

  • @ThePacman333

Qatar's government has been in America's pocket for decades.

  • @ThePacman333 It's not really an unusual stance. Libyans are in favor of NATO.

  • @chetoorlebuggie But USA and NATO are on stance for OIL not for the Libyan ppl so is stupid.

  • @ThePacman333

Do you really think, that it's in every way unacceptable to be "Pro NATO/US", whatever that means, saying, that only propaganda bias can be the reason for it? C'mon! Being pro-Israel in some topics also has not be a propaganda bias.

  • @ThePacman333 Al Jazera was bombed by the US, two times! They report also about the crimes by NATO and its members, including the USA and Isreal. Also reported about war crimes committed by the Libyan rebels and NATO. Nevor they had to leave Tripolis they also interviewed Libyan government spokesmen daily and let them spread their version of the story. So how can you still claim that AJ isn't neutral?

  • @khosrow In the minds of some people, it does not matter if AJ or AJE is neutral or pro-west. What matters, to SOME people, is that if a news organization does not completely vilify the west on a daily basis, then in their limited capacity for critical thinking, the news outlet must be pro-west. What amazes me is that SOME people hate the west so much that they will cheer for the Devil himself as long as the Devil is causing trouble for the west. I dunno why, maybe they have noting better to do.

  • @khosrow @scorpiooooooh I didn't mean to cause such as fuss, this is simply my opinion regarding AJE coverage of the Libya situation so far (in general!). I have been trying to find coverage of the HUGE Tripoli Pro-Gaddafi Rally in early July but for some reason AJE hasn't uploaded any info on youtube. SEE HERE: /watch?v=jWzNhk3zv4U

  • @ThePacman333 AJE hadn't uploaded any info because no outside journalists were invited to this. So it's likely to be a fake. They might also aks them self why there were no such demonstrations while the foreign journalist were in Tripolis. Also they have sources in Tripolis so they chekc such videos. So why should they report on this when it's not verified and likely to be propaganda?

  • Comment removed

  • @khosrow Foreign journalists (even western journalists) were invited to the pro-Ghadaffi demonstrations in Zawiyah. edition.cnn(dot)com/2011/WORLD/africa/07/16/libya.unrest/ "Much like previous rallies in the towns of Zlitan and Ajilat, more than 10,000 portrait-waving demonstrators gathered amid a sea of green flags in Zawiyah's cratered and pock-marked central square."

  • @Erik20091113 yeah and they went there and reported it. but no one except libyan states media has ever seen such mass demonstrations like those in tripolis. it is also strange that there no pro-g demonstrations in rebel hold citys. they dont have to fear crackdowns with all the journalists arround. while there are plenty of anti ghadaffi protests in citys hold by ghadaffi and getting crackdowned.this is another clue that its propably arranged propaganda.

  • @khosrow

ignore the trolls. You KNOW they would have blamed Obama if Gaddaffi did to Benghazi what he did in Misurata.

The US intervened because its credibility was at stake. Allowing Gadaffi to carry out a bloodbath in Benghazi un-opposed would have sent out a signal of American impotence and indifference. And everyone would have blamed the US for Gadaffis crimes. Guaranteed.

  • @phooey108 indeed. even if there were no nato troops there at all they would still blame the west. like they did when the protests in iran took place. i shouldn't waste my time here. ^^

  • @khosrow There are no large pro-rebel demonstrations in rebel held cities either (the demo at 5:55 has at most 100 people). Your assumption that pro-government demonstrators wouldn't have to fear crackdowns is unfounded speculation.

  • @Erik20091113 what about the large anti ghadaffi demonstration held last week in benghazi?

  • @khosrow Which large demonstration in Benghazi? At what date and time was it? Where in Benghazi was the demonstration? Did anyone take a photo or video? Were there more than thousand Libyans at the demo?

  • @Erik20091113 just google "benghazi demnstration july 6th". sry its almost 2 weeks ago.

  • @khosrow Thank you, that helped. the best coverage (as in: camera position above the crowd, trying to show all demonstrators, and some landmarks near the demo; I only searched an hour, or so) is 1K4u1pSw_uM by melgassier. SUZKg-Ge4-M by mbi3000 shows a helicopter above the square, unfortunately I couldn't find coverage made from that helicopter.

  • @scorpiooooooh Indeed. They should ask them self why they are no pro Ghadaffi rallys in rebeld hold citys, where they are safe from crackdowns due to the presence of international press. This fact alone should make everyone see that this isnt arranged by the NATO. That the NATO isn't a shimering white knight and is only oppertunistic at this should be clear to everyone too.

  • @ThePacman333 omg they even mention quatars engagement to oil-busyness in this conflict in this report! what is this if not neutral reporting?
