  • THE TAIL BOTHERED ME SOO MUCH lol

  • So now, bridles, reins, and taps of a whip is abuse? I love horses and everything, but that's not what I would call 'abuse'.

  • it is abuse i would like to see them get the horse do all of that with no reins bridles pr whips..actually can be done without force

  • @fallin2high the reins, bridles, and whips are not abuse they are used as a cue. like without reins they cant do the inhand stuff.

  • Horse is like "Imma be pissed! Don't make me fly!"

  • How is it abuse when the horse looks like he's actually loving life? And yes he's pulling the horse back but when people ride they use their hands and he's just getting the horse to slow down and concentrate because it's getting so excited xD Beautiful horse!!

  • I hate how nobody can post a video of an animal without some dumbass who thinks they know everything slamming it as "abuse". Do you idiots know what abuse is? I mean, really....get a life.

  • I'm not going to put out my thoughts towards the dressage movements but who would think that was concrete? Cant you see the contrasting in colors on the floor?

  • These animals are worth tens or hundreds of thousands they are not abused, they are jewelry. They look healthy and well fed. But I am telling you, I bet my ass, that half of those that are screaming abuse are Americans, I know, I am one of them. Americans have problems relating to people so they divinized and humanized their pets. Gee they cannot get alone with blacks, browns or even whites. Again those horses are just animals and they need to be trained not send to college, idiots.

  • "none of these movements are natural..."

Then explain to me why a 23 yo mare jumps around exactly like this when she's put in the field after a few days box rest.

These horses are not abused either, you try slapping half a ton of stallion with a stick and see if he performs like this.

  • @CattanWolf19 Because she's happy to finally be out of her prison. A few DAYS in a stall? I get your point though, haute ecole promotes movements the horses naturally with each other for prolonged periods. But seriously...horses + stalls = don't go well together.

  • @H0useMouse I know, but figgs is a riding school mare that hates other horses, I'm only able to get her field time when there are no private horses out and when there's no chance of someone wanting to ride her, so sadly every few days is all she can get.

  • @H0useMouse what the heck do you put your horse in at night then? Just leave him to wander a field by himself......? That's smart. If a horse is treated properly and given plenty of time each day out in the pasture, I don't see how stalls are a bad idea.

  • @CattanWolf19 Best response I've seen to idiots who think they know what they are talking about. Well done :')

  • I want to know what idiot would think that was concrete...

  • wow thts amazinggg:)

  • if the horse was abused, he would never, i mean never do any of that by command.

  • @xGizmo0Bellax Bullshit

  • @FastestBarrelRacer00 ok then if hes abused, where are the hit marks on him? yeah hes rather slim, but thats probably because he does alot of training, trust me, if someone in that crowd thought he where abused, he wouldnt be there.

  • @xGizmo0Bellax An abused horse WOULD do this by command. BUT. I know he isn't abused.

  • Jetzt mahl erlich was ist den das für ein Boden...! :o

sieht aus wie....kein ahnung sieht aufjedenfall nicht sehr angenehm aus fürs Pferd...aber ich will ja nimanden verurteilen

  • i like its tail >;D no i hate the tail ;p

  • The tail is wrapped.

Ground training is taught to all young horses first. It is a method of perfecting and teaching movements that are difficult to teach from the saddle. It is also used to settle and calm. You can see that this youngster is high spirited and prancing around, giving little kicks that were probably not cued. This can be extraordinarily dangerous for both horse and rider. Also, youngsters should be ridden very sparingly, as serious damage can be done to growing bones and joints.

  • That tail is ridiculous.

  • as you can see everyone, that stick did not once even TOUCH the horse, it was merely raised as a cue, the reins are not held tight and if anything, that horse looks happy, not in pain. it is swishing it's tail and shaking its head coz it can't wait to do the end trick

  • very good.Nice looking too.

  • wow

  • With the ropes, movements and groomings, it almost looks like a doll/marionette puppet. I almost couldn't believe it was real =]

  • fix the tail lol jk I kno that they have to tie it up lol very beautiful

  • It's funny to me when people whine about whether something constitutes "natural" behavior for DOMESTIC BREEDS OF HORSE. If "natural" means what happens in the wild devoid of human influence, the EXISTENCE of a domestic animal with selectively bred ancestry is not natural and it has no natural way of behaving. The closest thing they have to "natural" is the function they've been bred for and trained for over generations -- which is exactly what these horses are doing (and beautifully.)

  • awww he is sooo cute

  • Are they performing that on concrete? Because that honestly DOES NOT look like arena footing.

  • @Kylersism Not at all. It's thick rubber matting (you can see it's made up of squares) which they use as it provides traction and helps to reduce impact. I've seen this type of flooring used before at another events.

  • @Bindi342

Ohhhh. Yes, obviously if your not blind you can see its made of squares. Just from a the distance this was filmed at it looked like concrete.

  • absolutely amazing!!!!!

  • i hate how they have the tail done.

  • In response to SilverSammett, my horse is 12 and still does the airs! he is a big show off and impress his mommy! His usual air above the ground is the croupade.

these are battle maneuvers and designed to aid and protect the rider and the horse.

The performance of the airs above the ground is all about keeping history alive.

  • i love them! i went to one of their shows. the lipizzaner in this vid is nicknamed "the baby" he's only five now the others are like 8. i remember i was lucky enough to be boarding my horse at the same stable that they were resting at for 2 days.(ironicly, my horse is an andalusianXD)^^ i got to pet them and the lipizzan riders acctuly COMMENTED me and how i delt with the horses! i felt so cool!

  • i love to see them "fly" like this, they are so well built. Also, i believe they have to be pretty smart to do these things. :D im a TOTAL horse geek! lol

  • holy crap! LOOK at that air lol

  • as pirouette987 and Redhawk7 said,

This type of performance isn't cruel. these horses use these movements out in pasture. training them to perform in front of an audience is teaching them to control their movements and have impulse control. The flooring is rubber and very comfortable. i've walked on it myself. you people need to grow up. seriously.

  • Cool!

  • das ist aber heftig. das pferd sieht einfach nur nervös und ängstlich aus und ist keineswegs entspannt

  • What sort of flooring is that? Looks to hard to do ANYTHING.

  • ughhhhhh is it just me or does his tail look like its waging lol it looks funny!!

  • @em352

Ermm no its not 'wagging' but yes it is moving.

The horse is doing this as he is either uncomfortable or in pain.

  • @gellert1011 i was kidding and i hav horses myself soooo i think i no that that horse is probly in pain

  • It's not easy to train a stallion. And besides that, the horse is absolutely not skinny so full of energie. Looks beautyfull!!

  • A well behaving stalion is easyer to train then a mare!

They accually are very eay to train compered to mares and geldings.

  • i belivie i can fly my wings can touch the skkkyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • I WENT TO THIS !! SO COOL! One at entertainment centre called Ell Caballo Blanco ! AWESOMEE !

  • This is in no way cruel. These horses are treated like a family member. Yes the horse is fussy, but the long lines are not even taught. Yes the tail moves a lot which can be a sign of pain, but horses will also swish their tails when they have to use their back.

  • @Kedgirl

I don't know who you were replying to, I agree with you. I saw these horses in person at a show in our area, and the horses loved the attention they got from the crowd. Andalusian stallions are going to show attitude, they are stallions, and the interesting thing is, all the routines they have them do are things the horses do in the pasture, clowning with their herdmates. The horses travel and stay in heated stalls.

  • A horse does not do "schools above ground" naturally. However they do piaff, pasage and other complicated things On the ground.

As colts they might do schools above ground.

And since they are horses, neither I or you can say if they where accually loving the crowd or not. They can not tell us by words so all we can do is look and guess.

  • some horses also swish their tails when they are concentrating (cant spell lol)

  • It seems like such a cruel thing to tie the horse up and make i perform like that. But at the same time. It's so beautiful and graceful. : /

  • i bet you these horses are treated better than most babies

  • i doubt very much that these horses would be treated badly in any way. they are pricless and absolutly stunniny show horses. and youbag67 is right, they probs would be treated better than most babies

  • It's beautiful but .. look at his tail, ... Also, it's very hard control and he's is fighting against his trainer.. you could see it.

I think it isn't good to train the horses like this, of course it's nice to see, but it's to much control & no harmony for the horse.

    Sorry.

  • aaw, he has got quite a belly there ; )

  • i think the horse is no very comfortable with it....

  • dat staartje :)

    amazing!

  • LOVELY CAPRIOLLE!!!!!!!

  • Very nice! :)

  • THats amazing :)

  • Лошадь на верёвочке.

    Nothing interetsting.

  • to anyone who thinks this horse is being mistreated or abused- look at its ears, that positioning of ears means that the horse is listening to who ever is controlling it andis doing its job to please and is being on best behavour. xx

  • Love it !

  • "Okay, I was a principal rider with this company for 4 years, Rene 'Sonny' Gasser is a wonderful trainer, and all of his horses are treated with kindness and love, by him, and all of the riders. That is not concrete, it is thick rubber matting, that is especially made to provide traction and comfort for the horses"

She goes on to say she did NOT do this for money, but for love of the riding.

There, for the person who felt it necessary to pick on these riders and trainers.

  • Horses cannot and will not perform these movements if they are in any pain. This horse is excited, and swishes his tail (which is braided up, so that it does not get tangled in his legs - the tail is very thick and long, and they don't want the horse stepping on it and pulling a big hunk of hair out!). He knows he gets to show off his big move soon and he can hardly wait!

  • "but it is so many horses and none of them gets the love they deserve, I THINK. And the trainers always have a whip, and the tail of the horse looks HORRIBLE!"

Good lord...don't criticize what you know nothing about.

The horse's tail is braided in the traditional way.

This horse is not 'unloved', how can you be so incredibly nasty about trainers and riders you've seen for 2 seconds on the internet???????????

  • beautiful

  • :O that is shocking THEYVE CUT HIS TAIL LIKE A DOG!!!!!!

  • actually they haven't, they have tied his tail up like they do in polo. Its health and safety and safer for ther horse just incase it lands on its tail because andalusians traditionally have long tails reaching the ground. As you can see just before he takes off into the air, his hindquarters lower and if he had his tail free he could have easily stood on it and done some serious damage to his back or tail bone.

  • Hey mister stupidhead!

this is an exercise from the Spanish Riding School called Capriole, or in spanish Cabriola.

    Why are you so ignorant?!

  • It's calling capriole.

  • would they make good jumpers?

  • I agree, i think the horses are happy, but it is so many horses and none of them gets the love they deserve, I THINK. And the trainers always have a whip, and the tail of the horse looks HORRIBLE! But i never seen a lipizzaner show IRL so i dont know.

  • Wow,beautiful!

  • COOL HEY THAT WAS SO COOL

  • that horse is absolutly gorgeous!!!

  • that is true he can fly!

    he is awsome

    lol :)

  • Wow, I love to see horses doing what they are made to do. Styria looks like he is having fun. Not too many horses get to buck and rear as part of their job.

  • I watched the show in Brisbane just 2 days ago and the horses were all so happy! And this guy here looks a little over excited if you ask me!!!

  • omg his poor tail it looks horrible tucked and plaited so small looks kinda pissed a little though cause of the ears and tsil fliking or is that jist with cats

  • how can anyone say thats beautiful?? can`t you people see that the horse is in pain??!

  • He's not in pain at all. O.o The horses are trained for this and the owner is very kind not to mention it's all about body language and It's very clear that the horse is not upset.

There's a world of difference between a pissing-mad horse and a horse who is rotating his eats to keep track of sounds like his trainer or the audience.

  • that is so cool

  • Hi, just wanted to let you know that he isn't an andalusian, he is a Lipizzaner, Napolitana Steaka II, his stable name is Styria... I was once a principal rider with this group, Rene (Sonny) Gasser is a wonderful trainer of both horse and rider, and all of those horses are wonderful to work with... thank you for posting!!

  • Have a look at Nevzorov Haute Ecole, quite a few videos on youtube.

  • :)

NHE beats this by a forever-increasing distance.

  • Nevzorov Haute Ecole? If so, i couldnt agree more.

  • That was beautiful!

  • look like there in a boxing ring lmao very cool horses 2 do that

  • In addition, all of these movements are NATURAL for a horse to do. The training is NOT cruel at all, as that could cause injury to either horse or trainer. These are movements that War horses were originally taught to do, war, of course, IS dangerous to everyone.

  • Typically horses that are trained to do Airs Above the Ground do not even start training until about 4 to 5 years of age. Unlike Race horses who are being ridden by age 2 BEFORE the bones have finished fusing and growing.

  • You guys are a bunch of fucking idiots. Just because you cant do this without torturing a Horse doesnt mean that others are being cruel. Get your fat asses off your horses and learn something.

  • mmmm en España se hace mucho mejor este ejercicio...que se llama cabriola.

  • I'm actually in the current El Caballo Blanco show (Sydney), but not as a rider. I can assure you that Rene Gasser loves his horses very much, as does everyone else in the company. I've seen a few of the horses actually break away from their handlers (when they're being led off), run back to Rene, and do a "trick" for no particular reason, and without any sort of cue.

  • i went and saw it on the Saturday..

    it was AMAZING!!

there wasnt a very big turnout though was there??

  • Okay, I was a principal rider with this company for 4 years, Rene 'Sonny' Gasser is a wonderful trainer, and all of his horses are treated with kindness and love, by him, and all of the riders. That is not concrete, it is thick rubber matting, that is especially made to provide traction and comfort for the horses. Styria (The horse) is not unhappy/uncomfortable, his face and ears show concentration & that he is listening to Sonny, get a clue. And I assure you, I did it for love, not the money.

  • Guh I don't agree with this at all... The training methods used between trainers are cruel, with a percentage of 95% of trainers using cruel methods.

I have NEVER seen a horse be happy and comfortable while performing this shit. This isn't normal long reining, its people making horses do un-natural performances with the aids of whips and a shit load of pulling.

  • I agree with xxXxLinaxXxx

    but also i dont know.

  • it is called long reigning & is a training method for horses who are very smart i understand your concern obviously being a non horse person but i assure u it is not cruel & horses enjoy long reigning it is fun for them & all it is,is instead or steering them from on their back u do it from the ground so realy it is no different from riding,

  • it also helps them concentrate more on what is being asked of them not what the rider is doing, putting someone who cant ride a horse is ALOT crueler than doing this!! thanks for your comment :o)

  • @tiggapie i agree. and those dressage moves are completely natural to your horse. if you are watching your horse in the pasture, it can trot collected without rider. if the horse is going crazy, you shouldnt accuse your horse. it's often riders fault.

  • That seems a bit cruel but i wouldnt really know if it really is and how its done
