@69beyourself14 i think she decided for the more realistic way of what a mermaid would look like if they existed. mermaids shouldn't really have long hair, it gets in the way when swimming, they would have gills, fins on different areas of their bodies, etc. she still added the idea that they are very beautiful and they used that beauty to lure humans to the depths, which is more related to the assumption that you might be thinking of, that they still look like beautiful humans, with fins.
