@MrAdamSievers The only N/A 4.6 that ever came close to the LS1 was the DOHC 4.6 in the Cobra and Mach 1. It was a Dual overhead Cam vs the LS1 with is an old push rod single cam engine. And let's not forget, the LS1 is lighter than the DOHC 4.6, more fuel efficient, and put out mor HP and TQ.

Well lets break it down like this: If you compare a 2001 model year straight across, after the ls6 intake and slighty reground cam for that year, the factory power ratings are 315 for a Z and 325 for an SS. If you compare a 2000 or earlier Z that number is 305. So in some cases, 20 hp difference between the cars. If that wasn't significant then there would be no use in doing an exhaust huh?

@ModMob I will give you that small block chevys are cheap to build and are good engines. A ls1 with a cam and heads will run a supercharged stang. Our Ford engines are smaller engines yet more sophisticated, especially when you look at how much work had gone into the mach's. You can search all day on youtube and find both sides of this story, but the point is that an ls1 is nowhere near blowing a Mach out of the water, and the one in this video must've been modded to beat this mach that bad.

Cobra guys are usually the worst Mach 1 bashers in the world. I guess it's becasue they are embarassed that the Mach can beat them out of the hole and Cobra's only run a few tenths quicker. Neither one will hit 12's on street tires like some on here are claiming.
Yes a Mach MIGHT run with a skilled driver 12.9 at the very min but I have personally run and seen 01 to 02 SSs and Z28s run mid 12s, as in 12.7 and 12.5 bone stock on street tires. I think the best time with exhaust and DRs on a 01 to 02 SS it a 12.3 or 12.2 something. I can't remember. But I have personally run a 12.76 in a bone stock 01 SS on street tires. And the best time that I have seen was a bone stock 12.58, down to the paper filter stock! And I have never seen a mach run 12s stock.

Well dont wanna start anything but it is true :/. my LS1 wrecks havoc on the new mustangs, Cobra R is almost non existant and it didnt perform that hot for 400 hp. Termi is sick, but not a low 12's car. GT500 is 50k$. Ford has to supercharge anything thats fast and its been proven. Quoted in a Ford racing magazine "the LS1 is a terror from factory capable of producing 500 HP with a HC swap, meanwhile us Ford have to rely on boost. Plus look at the price difference of the cars back then.

The new v6 camaro runs 14.1's, according to your motortrend videos. New Mustang GTs can hit the 13s. The v8 Camaro ran a 13 flat. Yes, it's faster than a new Mustang GT or Bullitt, but it will still lose to a 03 or 04 Mustang SVT Cobra. It can't even come CLOSE to a GT500, but that's an unfair comparison because of the cost difference. All manufacturers have good and bad stages. Sooner or later the Stangs will be quicker, and vice versa.

You may want to look at some comparos recently posted by Edmunds and Motor Trend - the Camaro runs through the slalom and pulls higher on the skid pad in both comparos (despite being heavier).
The Camaro has an IRS suspension versus the solid rear axle of the mustang. So no the Mustang doesn't handle better.

Thats why the terminator was built in 2003-2004 and LS1 owners couldn't really say much about it. You think ford is still falling down? @MrAdamSievers The only N/A 4.6 that ever came close to the LS1 was the DOHC 4.6 in the Cobra and Mach 1. It was a Dual overhead Cam vs the LS1 with is an old push rod single cam engine. And let's not forget, the LS1 is lighter than the DOHC 4.6, more fuel efficient, and put out mor HP and TQ.

Well lets break it down like this: If you compare a 2001 model year straight across, after the ls6 intake and slighty reground cam for that year, the factory power ratings are 315 for a Z and 325 for an SS. If you compare a 2000 or earlier Z that number is 305. So in some cases, 20 hp difference between the cars. If that wasn't significant then there would be no use in doing an exhaust huh?

@ModMob I will give you that small block chevys are cheap to build and are good engines. A ls1 with a cam and heads will run a supercharged stang. Our Ford engines are smaller engines yet more sophisticated, especially when you look at how much work had gone into the mach's. You can search all day on youtube and find both sides of this story, but the point is that an ls1 is nowhere near blowing a Mach out of the water, and the one in this video must've been modded to beat this mach that bad.

@ModMob Yea, cause it's a Callaway dumb-dumb. They were rebuilt from the ground up to be way more bad ass than a vette. They're meant to be a balls to the wall fast car, so go figure it can beat the full size two door that's 500lbs heavier.

Cobra guys are usually the worst Mach 1 bashers in the world. I guess it's becasue they are embarassed that the Mach can beat them out of the hole and Cobra's only run a few tenths quicker. Neither one will hit 12's on street tires like some on here are claiming.

Yes a Mach MIGHT run with a skilled driver 12.9 at the very min but I have personally run and seen 01 to 02 SSs and Z28s run mid 12s, as in 12.7 and 12.5 bone stock on street tires. I think the best time with exhaust and DRs on a 01 to 02 SS it a 12.3 or 12.2 something. I can't remember. But I have personally run a 12.76 in a bone stock 01 SS on street tires. And the best time that I have seen was a bone stock 12.58, down to the paper filter stock! And I have never seen a mach run 12s stock.

I personally have done it! Bone stock to the shitty OEM Paper filter on street tires! I ran a 12.82 in 2001 SS 6speed! When I call out numebers I mean with an experienced driver. So yeah, not might will. If you can't hit 12s in a LS1 6spd camaro stock. You need to practice more!

I now have new exhaust, new intake, new clutch, and a short shifter but I have not ran it again yet. And "Fan boys" just talk shit say that they can beat this person or that person. I am giving factual numbers which I have either personally ran or have seen run! This shit is 11 months old dude!

um no, i know a guy that has a 67 shelby Gt500, and a Gt350 all original, still has everything it came with and also has posters signed with the production numbers of his cars. and i had a stock trans am and it was an auto and no stang ever came close to me . i had a bigger problem with a CIA/exhaust/chipped dodge neon R/T than with the mustang cobra and the two GT's i raced. i guess you wouldnt know that unless you actually owned one. and by the way, trans am is pontiac, not chevy. you're dumb

Fire hawks were made almost every year if I remember correctly, meanwhile there are only 300 Cobra R's. Firehawk actually is faster then a Cobra R. Well dont wanna start anything but it is true :/. my LS1 wrecks havoc on the new mustangs, Cobra R is almost non existant and it didnt perform that hot for 400 hp. Termi is sick, but not a low 12's car. GT500 is 50k$. Ford has to supercharge anything thats fast and its been proven. Quoted in a Ford racing magazine "the LS1 is a terror from factory capable of producing 500 HP with a HC swap, meanwhile us Ford have to rely on boost. Plus look at the price difference of the cars back then.

The new v6 camaro runs 14.1's, according to your motortrend videos. New Mustang GTs can hit the 13s. The v8 Camaro ran a 13 flat. Yes, it's faster than a new Mustang GT or Bullitt, but it will still lose to a 03 or 04 Mustang SVT Cobra. It can't even come CLOSE to a GT500, but that's an unfair comparison because of the cost difference. All manufacturers have good and bad stages. Sooner or later the Stangs will be quicker, and vice versa.

The gt500 best time bone stock recorded with street tires is 11.9. Haha that 12.9 you must have got from edmunds or something. Obviously someone that doesnt know how to drive. And the only reason it goes 155 is because there is a electronic limiter on it which can be turned off with a tune and now a top speed between 180-190. You may want to look at some comparos recently posted by Edmunds and Motor Trend - the Camaro runs through the slalom and pulls higher on the skid pad in both comparos (despite being heavier).
The Camaro has an IRS suspension versus the solid rear axle of the mustang. So no the Mustang doesn't handle better.

There are heads and cammed LS1s with stock bottom ends in the 9's. Theres ALOT of heads and cammed street driven LS1's in the 10's.

show me a stock GT500KR with factory tires thats runs 11's and ill show you a flying pig. King of the Road my ass. thats why they have had their asses handed back to them on a silver platter by every GM F-body and almost every GM A-body since 1967. find the review of the 1968 GT500kr on youtube. true it is an automatic but even the 4 speed will not net you a whole second plus to catch some of the GM cars to 60 and in the 1/4mi. the only road a mustang will ever be king of is an abandoned one.

1. It is a FACT the GT500KR is a factory 11s car on factory tires. Make up your own history if you want to, but that's how it is, you ignorant idiot.
2. Mustang has been faster than Camaro quite a few times. Like from 2002 when the 2003 Cobra came out, to present, where the top Camaro is bus lengths back of the base GT500.

2.a) Fucking hater, stock, the cobra is still faster than any Camaro built. The SC Cobra is a handbuilt motor specially built for SC. Yeah any idiot can handbuild a motor capable of over 700hp stock. lol The LS1 has nothing on it and will explode.
b) A cammed LS1 won't touch a GT500 with a $40.00 pulley.
c) Cobra and GT500 stock have more TQ than a LS1. A pullied GT500 has as much TQ as TWO LS1 motors.

Dude, even with forged internals and F1A ProCharger I bet the LS1 would still be the cheaper route, depending on how much you get your Camaro/Trans Am for, preferably a good price. Cobras are expensive as fuck, I looked for some.
A GT500 is how much? Like a 40k that does high 12's......please give me a break.
And like wasp said, anyone can throw a supercharger on a car and make it fast. Not to mention the Cobra needs 4 cams and 32 valves AS well as supercharger to beat the ol' pushrod LS1.

You have noticed that when GM put a supercharger on the ZR1......it literally destroyed everything it raced that's in it's class. It smoked the Ford GT on the 'Ring, pulled a 10.74 on street tires (I'll show you the vid if you don't believe me).
If it's so half assed, which it isn't, then why are the only cars to even come close to performing as well as it cost 3-4 times as much. Ex: Enzo Ferrari, Maserati MC12, etc etc.

To each their own. I know stock manual LS1 Camaros and T/As run faster than a 13.3. Stock Mach 1s are capable of 13.0-13.1 too, just depends on track/driver conditions. I never talked shit about your Camaro, why would I care what you drive? There's tons of bolt on Fbodies faster than my car, my car isn't very fast. I didn't buy the Mach 1 because I thought it was the fastest most badass car ever. I bought it because I like Mach 1s and Cobras, and it was right place/time/price.
