I ended up leaving the church because of this "Godly man" who was a leader in the church...I'm finally repairing my relationship with Jesus now though I still struggle with forgiveness issues....obviously lol

I tried praying with him all the time but it was like pulling teeth! He was never a spiritual leader in our home. Six years in to our eight year marriage I finally resented him and hated him! I finally asked for a divorce GOD FORGIVE ME! Oh He has forgiven me thank you very much. @framboise595 I take 1 Peter 3 into context is what I do! This passage is not talking about an abusive husband. The sad thing is that so many in the "modern church" are marrying people that God never intended for them in the first place and we are getting married in our time and not His. Listen, I don't care if you think God wants women to stay in abusive marriages. I hate getting hit and my spirit crushed. Victimized & selfish? NO! I know how to take things in context! I am not ashamed at all!

@framboise595 CONTINUED: God hates many things and if you will read Malachi the 2nd chapter you will find that God is talking to priests who have abused their wives. He hates that just as much as divorce, but we pounce on divorce as if it is the worst! Abusers are not loving their wives as Christ loves the church! Be ashamed if you want, but the real problem starts at the beginning with who we marry. I did not ask God to forgive me for divorce. I asked Him to forgive me for marring in err...

My dear I was the submissive wife okay!? I tried and prayed so very hard. But it was never God's plan for my husband to slap me silly on Saturday, & go to church smiling on Sunday! OH BELIEVE ME I TRIED but unfortunately I married a narcissist! After we married he decided he wanted to go to seminary and he promised after that I would get an education too, so I worked overtime paying his tuition NO LOANS THANKS TO ME!!! after he graduated he continued to do things just for his benefit and God was all in his head and never in his heart. He doesn't know how to love! How does a woman love that? HUH?

I do think religion does do good for many people, even kevin (this site's street preacher) does some good. Heck, he keeps alive our rights of speech better than I do; but woman have equal value.
