Bell is a decent hitter but a terrible fighter. He had 4 goals in almost 40 games with the Leafs and was making 2 million a year. He just keeps getting worse. He used to get 25 goals and 50 pts a season and now he barely averages a point every 2 games in the AHL.
The Leafs have more than enough hitting, believe me. Exelby, Schenn, Finger, Mayers, Oreskovic, Kulemin, Beauchemin, Mitchell and Stempniak are all solid hitters.

Bell is a decent hitter but a terrible fighter. He had 4 goals in almost 40 games with the Leafs and was making 2 million a year. He just keeps getting worse. He used to get 25 goals and 50 pts a season and now he barely averages a point every 2 games in the AHL.

The thing I didn't like about the hit is how Bell was wearing a full cage. He obviously knew no ones gonna start wailing on his already broken face... People who wear visors and hit get a bad rap, but this guy took it to another extreme. Then again can't blame em... he's only a Toronto Maple Leaf.....

Guys in Football wear full face masks now too, does that make them any less tough or vicious? A hit is a hit regardless, it doesn't matter what you're wearing. Not to mention how the guy just had his face virtually reconstructed.
Personally, I would be wearing a full shield if I played in the NHL as well, as I value my Eyes, Teeth, and Face. If anyone wanted to fight, just pop the shield up, or the helmet off, and there you go.

Whether alf's head was up or admiring his shot, it doesn't matter, that is an elbow. This kind of stuff can happen when you're not really paying attention, alf didn't really notice him which he should've known he was coming. Either way though that elbow connects 100% to the head, whether bell actually meant it or not, at least one game suspension for this hit. Maybe no penalty cause at regular speed u can't see the elbow that well so a ref might miss it, but definately sitll an elbow.

It could have been any announcer and they would have made the same conclusion. The video clearly shows that Bell's elbow never touched Alfredsson's head. His elbow went up after the collision.
Toronto still has a better record than Ottawa overall and in their last 10 games.
Toronto is playing with a roster comprised of multiple rookies, while Ottawa has their usual line of Alfredsson, Heatley and Spezza who haven't done a whole lot for them this season. Maybe they should have kept Emery?

No. His elbow comes out just as he connects. Whether it's intentional or not is debatable. Bell would have to be on his knees to have placed his shoulder into Alfredsson since Alfie was low from the follow-through. Regardless, it's a head shot.
Look up the recent records. They're close, but Ottawa has the better record.
I told you, Wilson has squeezed a lot out of what he's got. I'm giving credit where it is due because I'm not an outright Leaf-hater. Take a compliment.

Toronto still has the better overall record 28-29-13, compared to 28-30-10 for Ottawa. 69 points is more than 66.
Hard to determine your Wilson comment as being either sincere or sarcastic, clearly I went down the latter route.
The only reason the elbow came up after the hit was finished was because Bell was trying to keep his balance. The video shows the elbow did not touch Alfredsson.

Better overall record goes to the Leafs, but not recent records. Since Clouston arrived the Sens are playing at a pace that would have got them 104 points for the season had they started the season this way...

Alfredsson does things to make many fans around the league question his integrity. He at times can act just like a Sean Avery type player.
Leafs have been just as good as the Senators. Ottawa is 11-6-3 for 25 points, Toronto is 9-6-5 for 23 points. Chances that either team makes the playoffs is slim to none at this late stage of the season.

Keep in mind though prior to the lock out Toronto sent Ottawa packing all 4 times the two teams met up.
