  • Amitabha saying hello from Mexico, Templo Shaolin de Mexico AC

  • Comment removed

  • it's really a great compilation...however the music overpowers the voice...any way to balance the ration in the audio of the video?

  • Great Training!

peace and blessing on the master and the temple..

  • Amitabha brother!

  • 好, I like dat!

  • i saw the documentary on national geographic

the classes seems so much more carefree than the flushing shaolin school. it always felt tensed when i trained in the flushing school.

  • what does he think of weight training? light weighs high reps?? or no weights at all?

  • he advocates the development of flexibility, lean, long, fast twitch muscle. it depends on how you lift weights. generally he feels that kung fu training without weights is preferable but there are no hard and fast rules, just in general.

  • When you strip all fighting arts to its very essence, a punch is a punch and a kick is a kick. Ultimately, the individual is more important in the proper execution of strategy in any fight.

Basically, humans must operate under the natural laws of gravity, physics, and geometry.

Styles fly out the window in life or death situations.

A style is identified by a given name and may or may not be effective in a life saving situation.

    Think on it.

  • @DavesVenture Preach on! Church!

  • does anyone know what he thinks about which is better to use in fights? in a fight, would it be better to use traditional shaolin or san da? i'm just curious to see what his opinion is.

  • his opinion, generally speaking, is there are guns nowadays. other than that, knock the other person out as fast as possible. san da elements are traditional anyway.

  • there is no wat style is better its wat style u like to use n also on instinct sum ppl like to punch sum ppl like to kick sum ppl like to throw u gota find a style u like

  • he use Mandarin

    Amituofo!

  • I studied under Shi Yan Ming about 8-9 years ago. Highly rewarding experience.

  • If you join his class, is it absolutely necessary to shave your head? Just asking, because I'm thinking about training in the future, but I don't know if I'd look good bald...

  • that is not a requirement to join class at all.

  • Oh, that's good! Thanks!

  • amitabha

  • the music at the end during the taiji segment was composed by a producer named Red.

  • Shaolin monk doing Taichi - amazing....

  • I dobtrze wiesz o co mi chodzi "Oni maja wyobrazenie, że jak leza, ze jak sluchaja i tak dalej =- to pomagaja buddysta sie przeniesc w świat astralny... MAKRO I MIKRO...

A znasz prawde - to nie ma zadnego znaczenia... a oni uwazaja, że wtedy buddysi posredniczą w ich przekazach!

I ja ide swoja sciezka - SZAMNA! A oni uwazaja, ze to jak zyja irobnia to ta sama droga - i wtedy jednostki... ten medytuje i tak i tak... ten lezy i słucha muzyki...

A ja mam swoje za soba!

  • Ledgend!

  • Allowance! That's his sharpest weapon!

  • The music comes from RZA's "Mantis". The sample comes from one of the classic gong fu movies.

  • Anyone knows title of music from 5:35 to 6:20?

    Help, please.

  • the black dude in the video is the RZA from wu tang clan. he did the sound track for kill bill 1 and 2, he probably made it for this video exclusively.

  • "Mantis" by RZA as Bobby Digital.

  • doe shi yan ming know shi yan xin

  • we would need more info to answer that...

  • what do you mean

  • Does Shi Yan Ming know Shi De Cheng, Shi Yan Lin, Shi Yan Fan, Shi De Chao, and Shi Yan Xin as brother monks.

  • yes, shi de cheng and shi de chao...the other names don't ring any bells.

  • Is it true Americans can study with some of the monks?

  • anyone can study, americans, germans, uzbekistanis...

  • Do the monks practice at shaolin or one of the schools in the shaolin village?

  • depends. some monks maintain a presence in the temple, such as shi de yang, others have basically left the temple and now teach outside it, in dengfeng, or abroad...or a mixture of locations- so it really depends on which monk you are looking to train with.

  • nobody is trying to make this about who is no.1. can we save that for Godzilla vs Kong, and not put monks up against each other. This is a video about one monk's story. They all have their specializations and of course some people are going to gush over their favorites and some are not going to agree.

I'm only posting this because I would like to keep comments in a good direction and "who is the best" as a direction is not the spirit of this video.

  • I agree with shaolinforever. This guy has the grace and the power, but he is not the best. Ask any Shaolin Temple monk and they will inform you that no one practitioner of their skills is the "best". Example: the UK has the lighting speed of Shi Yan Xin, watch his vids for examples.

  • don't say he is NO 1 monk, i trained with him for a while, and i've train with another,...monks at 32 Generation are some of the best Shi Xing Hong, Zhang Li Peng and Shi Xing hao are a only a few to named, but other generations have their legends..31st have Shi Decheng, 35th have She Heng Jun, or She Hengfa, or Shi Hengxin (from NY)..etc, etc...maybe Yan Ming is your master but don't say..his the best arround, no offense !!!

  • I'm sorry folks, but this is just the best man on Yutube here - no kidding - Look at that drunken form, the Zuo Pan... and the Taiji form. Priceless.

  • nice compilation

  • This guy is no fussy vegetarian monk and I like him for his realness - lots of masters like to go down the mystical path to confuse people for money - but Sifu Shi Yan Ming's philosophy is short "More Qi and train harder"

  • real=]

  • I strongly agree with you my friend.

  • yeah there were some mastering issues and the codex made it worse when we went to QT.

  • hard to hear sometimes especially in the beginning...but the mantis and tai ji forms are crazy

  • bombtastic!
