The best couple is none of the above; Charlie/Claire, Jin/Sun, Bernard/Rose, Desmond/Penny...THOSE were compelling pairings. Those pairings had heart and moments that defined them as couples...pairings that you could see as transcending time/space/dimension, or whatever the hell else the island put them through, all because you saw them develop and go through trials while remaining true to each other in the end.

Jack/Kate/Sawyer was fickle and motivated by lust.

I don´t like S/K kiss in 1x08, I like their kisses in 3x02 and 4x13-14 better. I really think that chemistry is not important so much as Sawyer and Kate´s fans still say. I´ve always loved J/K more although I loved some scenes between S/K especially in season 5, 6, 2. (Sawyer with Kate, Claire from past (5x04)).

Although I loved Jack and Kate more than anything else I just think that writers weren´t good at portraying this love triangle/square. They made better job at portraying Sun and Jin or Claire and Charlie´s relationships.

I just liked Jack and Kate as character and I like the scenes when they were together. If writers wanted them to be just a good friends, I would love it too but they didn´t want it. Maybe they weren´t so hot as Sawyer and Kate but is that really so important? I don´t think so.
