  • Roxanne sounds so beefy and muscular here! Even though she's a girl. :-)

  • definatly one of the best songs right here!!!!

  • great improv!!!

  • where can u get this?

  • Can you send me the video? Please? :D

  • STEWART WAS THE MAN!

  • he is!

  • daaang, singing and playing a fretless must be tough lol

  • I'd love to have a fretless Fender Precision bass like that.

  • @moonshark21 K I'll send you one moonshark. Consider it done.

  • weren't they considered new wave?

  • Yes Before (79/80) after punk and pop rock.

  • 79 this was punk then. good old times...

  • not really punk man haha

  • Fortunately no...

  • Cool

  • You had heard The King...The Boss...The price of pop...But here are the MASTERS of pop...for ever

  • hatefilled? where the hell is that?

  • its in hertfordshire, UK

  • Hey dudes I found the best ever live cover of this song. Check Zoo Band's - Roxanne!

  • Fenway Park this summer....

  • I get to see them in JUNE!!!

  • everyone should check out the '82 version at the end of "around the world with the police." they had further refined the dub interlude, and there's some beautiful delay on sting's vocals which he uses to great effect. this was a very, very early version of the song, but still great to hear. thanks for posting it!

  • this is absolutely amazing, the improvising is unmatched.

  • Pulice!

  • Sting always said the sound of The Police is minimalistic. That's part of their appeal.

  • This version is GREAT. I like better than the studio version. Sting's echo machine is kick-ass.

  • Ok,"Roxanne" is wonderful song, but in this video... :/ Dear God,sounded terrible. Sting had to sing that "Roxanne" longer than he did, plus the whole song sounded...like empty, like something is missing,i don't know. Much different from other Police concerts. rugshort-Sting sang it corectly.. Idot.

  • I agree with you it's very empty, could be the fantastic backing vocals. andy Summers guitar is almost not there. Oh by the way Sting sings "told you once I won't tell you again, I won't share you with another boy" TWICE in the second verse! What's an idot?

  • Andy Summers guitar is almost not there??? Have you tried this with headphones, or just thru crappy laptop speakers? Each of the 3 musicians' instruments are clearly audible; you can tell Andy's guitar is audible by the G7-sus4 to G dominant 7th transition that isn't in the studio version - sticks out a mile in the pre-chorus section. If that's not Andy Summers' guitar, what is it?

  • The iDot is a personal music player made by Orange not unlike Apple's iPod.

  • i don't understand you..

this is a sting song, he writed it

the police is one of the first things he did , and is amazing

  • Bad dub. Destroyed a good song. I hate it when bands do this shit. Soapy tit wank.

  • what are you talkin about?

this is a police song and these guys are the police

everytime theey played this song they do the same thing, they enlarged the song

  • Sorry, but this is probably where Sting started to lose it (his talent) by turning an amazing pop song into something very dull, it's really missing the glorious backing vocals too. Have you noticed he gets the words wrong at the beginning?

  • Are you a complete idiot? This was from 1979. How the hell can he be "starting to lose it" if their career had just started? And to lose his talent he would need to lose his career and as far as I can tell its been 28 years since this concert and he is still selling out venues. Give up the music critic career dreams. You have no idea what you are saying and nothing to back what you do say up. And BTW he wrote this song. Who are any of you to say he sang anything wrong?

  • Your idol is a good example of a talented artist gone berserk by the bucks, for he wrote the song and ruined it himself (bon appetit for the royalties dude) by overexposure. Poor bipolar fvck; lucky he'll have his pop career revamped by Stu & Andy's gifted art.

  • You got that right my friend

  • Ok not wrong as he wrote it, but missed out some lines "It's a crime the way". I like the band, I just think Sting reached his creative peak VERY early. As far as backing up what I'm saying it's just my opinion ok? I couldn't give a toss that Sting's been selling out venues for years, he does nothing for me, whereas with the Police he was part of a very good band.

  • 1:54

    Sounds PERFECT!!

  • You can't hear anyone but Sting.

  • WAOUW !!

  • muchos gracias!
