  • This is the great song.

    9 out of 10.

  • A Kabuliwala remembers his daughter in Afgastinam when he is in India and relives the childs memory in small girl he sees while selling Hing(Asfordite)

  • wow, manna de' sung this song sooooooooooooo perfectly and smoothly. listening this song makes your reflexes so relaxed and relieved...i get such feeling from rafi sahab songs but manna de is also a very good singer of his time

  • @alexreid1983 I feel elated on reading your comments. As far as singing calibre of the two singers is concerned, Rafi Saheb himself had once said, " You listen to me, but I listen to Manna Dey". That of course does not make Mannada greater singer than Rafi Saheb, but says a lot about his singing ability. As luck would have it, Mannada became a preferred voice for charachter actors right from 'Ram Rajya' days, and could rarely sing for heroes. except for a few nos. for Raj Kapoor or Dev Sa'ab.

  • Left the family left all the friends for no damn reason

  • Nice!

  • @pussycatdollsfan1995 Oh good, that you liked it =)

  • mrokrameshn u e right hinduism never teach fear of god.

Fear of god id negative thought. . well i know rest of religion say about fear of god.

for example if a son dont do anything bad due to fear of his dad , thats a negative aspect.but if he dont do anything because he respect his father, thats a positive aspect.

  • I lv dis song

  • breathe taking song..... jai hind....

  • Diff between Heaven & Moksha:

Heaven: A place of bodily pleasures - Sex, Booze & Gluttony. No qualifications needed. Hit the lottery & u can have it all here on earth.

Moksha: Education, Enlightenment, Knowledge – an Awakening of the Mind & the Heart. To compose music like Mozart, to think like Einstein, write beautiful poetry, to sing like MS, to be like Mother Teresa. It is not begged for nor given, it has to be EARNED!

Choose the higher Goal, choose Moksha

made their paradise equivalent to hell. Hope there will be peace & economic

stability in Afghanistan. God Bless Every Afghani Citizen.

Its sounds so true for a person living far from his motherland/family.

I wonder, when the same person goes to his country, does he feel the same way? so loving?

Only when we miss it, we feel it.

  • I live in my country but after listening to this I can feel the pain of those who are away from thier moerland

  • I miss you my land, I miss you my mother, I miss the land where I took my first step and I miss the land, where I wish to take my last breath. I have been crying for the past few hours listening to these beautiful words and tomorrow I will be leaving for India. Ap ek he tamnna hai, ek baar desh pe mar mittu, fir aaram se jiyunga (I want to die for her and will live happily ever after)

  • beautiful song!

  • Dude, Hats off to Dear Mannadey. What a song with heartful passion. I would say that this song made only for Mannadey. thanks for posting. I miss Pakistan - love.,

    Ameen..

  • unforgetable song

  • WOW Awsome ......I think this is a Afgan remembering his country in India

  • There was so Afghan , Pak etc that time. that era, it shows one missing is land whatever that may mean, like foolwise99, his land now constitutes pakistan, so it might mean pakistan for him, for Indians, India and likewise. Those anywhere who do not believe in 2 nation theory, will consider all from Kabul to Dhaka and Madras as 1 humanity, secular and equlity for all.

    Peace from India,

  • great song

  • great great song & beautifully sung

  • politicians has raped India

  • hum jahan paida hue uss jagah hi nikle dum. Ameen.

  • @mulan400

    Ameen

  • Is this song inappropriate for muslims? I think if they feel that way we should respect it, just the way we respect their opinion on idol worship. This is not hitting back but the song - Ae Malik Tere Bande Hum - is inappropriate for Hindus. Calling God Malik - Master - reduces us to Subjects/servants/slaves. Hinduism is a Teacher faith, we are students of God, our Guru on the path to Moksha. A slave blindly obyes his master, a student must question his teacher's teachings.

  • @ramaraksha01 what rubbish ! i grew up with Ae Malik Tere Bande Hum as a child in india. get your evil bjp paws off it.

  • @mrokramesh I am sorry to have offended u, u speak from the heart. I think when u get emotional perspective is lost. Have u ever heard a Hindu say I fear God Rama? or Krishna? Never! Hindus have never been taught to Fear God. In Western religions those sentiments are common. So IF a person were to talk about Fear of God using Hindus, that should be corrected. Yes? Diff religions, diff rules.

  • @mrokramesh Hinduism is a Teacher faith - God Krishna gave us the Gita. Western religions like christianity & islam are King religions - they view God more like a King. Their goal is heaven - a place - so they beg & grovel on their knees.

A Hindu's goal is Moksha - Enlightenment, Knowledge - which is always EARNED! If u were to get poor marks in a test, would u go beg ur Teacher to change those marks? No, work harder, retake the test, Earn those better marks. Never beg, never lower urself

  • only this one patriotic song is enough for great mannaday's recognization.whenever I watch this heart touching song, lietrally tears are bursting. This is for every person who lives away from his motherland. irrespective of nation, religion, cast, copuntry etc

  • I very much agree with you. This song is full of emotion and can make everyone cry who is away from the motherland especially for the people of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Everytime I hear the song the eyes becomes full of tears.

  • In 1969, I was in agroup at Princeton Univ in USA. Local Indian had organised a get togethera function on 26th Jan. by staging the play Kabuliwallh. When this song was played there was not a dry Indian Eye in the Hall. The Americans in the audience were surprised and wanted translation of the song. Few Volunteered.

    An immortal song

    Sharmamml

  • @sharmamml That is very touching ! Jai hind ,Jai Pakistan,Jai Afganistan,Jai South Asia.

  • @sharmamml

Our lovely India, Pakistan and Afghanistan ---no land like our home. God bless that part of the world and keep it away from evil eyes.

  • @28janya22 Yes, the daily bombings in Pakistan, the one of the most dangerous place to live status of India, the natural disasters for Bangladesh, the chaos in Afghanistan and not to mention the shared poverty and corruption by all in the subcontinent. You're right, Let's hope god keeps the subcontinent away from evil eyes so we can continue to have all those wonderful things forever.

  • @sharmamml Although I was not there I can totally visualize it...

  • @sharmamml same here man...

  • I can feel bro.. I love INDIA.. Mera pyara vatan

  • Translation of some part of the song...

I am that far from my contry...that even cant look back & return back...

But this was my only wish ...where i got birth ...should I die..

O my Dear land, I sacrify my heart for you.. !!

    Hindi -

Duur aa pahonche hai teri zameens se hum...

    Bus ek hi hai tamnna..

jis jagah paida hua hai,us jagah ..nikle ye dum !!

    tuj pe dil kurban !!

This is my profile text ...in orkut :)

  • jai india

  • mana daye is the singer of this song

  • The lyrics are probably based on a poem penned by Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last Mughal emperor, while in exile in Burma. He was thinking of his country which included India, Pakistan & Afghanistan at that time.

Very emotional song. Would like to sing along but gvoice gets all choked up everytime!

  • Same here, can't sing the song without getting choked up.

  • No, they aren't based on Bahador Shah's lyrics.

The Urdu used during Bahador Shah's time was much more ornate and sounded very different from colloquial Hindustani in which this song has been composed. The song is, most definitely, a 20th century composition tailor made for Tagore's Kaboliwalah.

  • What a good time that was..

when there were no different countries..no difference in Hindus n Muslims..

Every one just was simply - Bhartiya..

now...we have differentiated every cast on basis of reservations n votes !!

    A mere pyare vatan !!

  • perfect immortal

  • Balraj Sahni was a genius...one of the most precious diamonds of indian film industry!

  • at least I canot control my bursting tears, while living here in canada, away fron motherland

  • Ma Bhavani ki Jai..humar har janam teri seva main nikle

  • very nic very nice sob han ala it is nice

  • a real masterpiece

  • master pices thanx friend

    the best

  • ever grt song of all time..

love this sng vry muchh.. :-)

  • @DADARJEE

it doesnt matter which country its about..but the most important thing is the feelings attached to ones country..it shows the love for their motherland..whether its afghanistan or pakistan or india..every country for their people is there mother..whether its barren or fertile..so pls ur comment is nt at all praise worthy...

  • maro sale angrezon ko... ek ek ko maro sale kameene.

  • great song by salil chaudhury, atleast RD Burman,Anu Malik aur Pritam ki tarah plagiarise toh nahin kiya!!

  • To be fair the guy is singing about his home, Afghanistan, but I guess you could apply to any country, but since he refers to it as a "Bicchre Chaman" It should be a country which has been spoiled, so India does not fit that category.

  • I thought Bichre chaman meant separated (in this case homeland) not spoiled.

  • Also, the time this movie is set in, one could argue that Afghanistan was really part of India but this is definitely debatable. You are right in that he is talking about Kabul.

  • The Kabuli considers himself to be ina foreign land and is missing his homeland, so it is not at all about India, but as I said before this can apply to anyone's homeland. This beautiful song trescends all political boundaries.

  • Yes Kabuli wala was in India and was singing about his country Afghanistan.

But I don't think "bichere" means spoiled. "Bichere" means seperated

  • I agree its Bichrhey (Perisan) means Separated,

  • hello ArtHafez, Bichray is not a persian word, its actually hindi. Juda or Judai is the persian synonym for Bichrey.

Also another way to differentiate between persian or hindi words in urdu is to look at the sounds. The sound of last syllable of word bichray does not exist in farsi. :-) just thought id share this info with you.

  • bichhreey is a Hindi word

  • Only a person with no working knowledge of Farsi would say that 'bichhrey' is a Farsi word. It sounds nothing like Farsi. The aspirated 'chh' sound does not exist in Farsi at all.

'Bichhrey' is a corrupted Hindi form of Sanskrit root 'Virah', which means separation. In Sanskritised Hindi, the original 'Virah' is also used directly.

  • One of my favorite all time songs. Let's do something for INDIA no matter where we are....agar khoon Hindustani hai to dil bhi Hindustani hi hoga na. JAI HIND!

  • Beautiful words and melody!

Story Tagore, music Salil Chowdhari, voice Manna Dey, amazing how many talented people those few generations produced, and now we have a bunch of noisy chipmunks!

  • fantastic ! I just love this song and I get all choked up everytime I listen to it. I came searching for this on youtube ( and was 100% sure I would get it here ) becuase I want to sing this, this evening, for a friend of mine who is heading back to his home country, Pakistan. We are a small group of expats here and I thought this would be an ideal occasion to sing and present my friend a song that transcends all other feelings and brings all of us together in a land away from our MOTHERLAND !

  • If you think about the situation of the song, it is a patriotic song of Afghanistan. Of course, it is generally applicable to whoever absorbs its essence. Lyrics and singer Manna Dey make it infinitely soulful.

Good Job, remind me of my beloved country INDIA.

  • chhor kar teri zamin ko door aa pohenche hain hum. Phir bhee hay zehi tammnna tere zarvon ki kasam. Hum jahan peda hue us jagah hi nikle dumm. Wah kia sentiments, just great.

  • Hello

Do you have more of the lyrics of the song written out? I would love them!!

  • Ae mere pyaare watan, ae mere bichhre chaman, tuj pey dil kurban. Tou hee meri aarzo tou hee meri aabroo, tou hee meri jaan. (1) Tere daaman sey jo aaye, un hawaon ko salam. Choom loon mein us zuban ko jis pey aaye tera naam. Sab sey pyaari subha teri sabh sey rangeen teri shaam, tuj pey dil kurban

  • (2)Maa ka dil ban kay kabhi seeney sey lag jaata hay too, aur kabhi nanhi see beti ban kay aa jaata hay too. Jitna yaad aata hay mujko utna tarfata hay too, tujpe dil kurban. (you can see 3 paragraph in my earlier comment, hope you like it)
