I love all three versions that I've heard. The first one was with Eric Tagg and then I heard Phil Perry's version which is my favorite. Then I just heard this version
If Lee had any pride he would have only performed this with Eric Tagg --It's not as though Tagg would turn him down! --- But strange things happen in music --- great song and upload though ---- Thanks
This is real music, it's been way to long since I've heard this. Thank you Norvelle Brown for introducing this to me. Brought back many memories when you were down under RIP mate.
Grady and Kenya do a GREAT job with this song.As much as i love Eric Tagg on the original, both this and sigvlee's cover of this are very very good.(see that clip on here as well)kudos to all!
I love this freshness and ...... smothness of Lee's style. Just great. It's also shocking for me how very importnant is Brazilian music for ALL jazz musicians. Lee is great
so entertaining!! i never get tired of watching this video over and over again! i just love it!! this is what live performance is all about... the right music, the right people, very nice!!
this is the third version that I have heard. I think the original one was with Eric Tagg then the one with Phil Perry and now with these two. Don't you just love all of ther versions.

We have a Musical Chain thread in our forums and Jerry Lee Lewis came up so I followed with this song. I like to find videos for that extra touch and found this video.
Delightful. It gets added to a playlist as well. Thanks, I'm smiling all over.
I guess this is my favorite clip on U tube. I keep getting back to it every now and then.. Every time i see it makes me wanna get back straight to LA and enjoy being around such divine talent. Its such a pity that after all this time media never manage to expose this to the mainstream and ignore all the junk that they show us out there..
@sheldontunes Well, Eric never played bass- despite what the video for "Is It You" would have you believe...he's actually a keyboard player. I Googled his name recently to see why he avoided the spotlight so much. It turns out that he's a born-again Christian and a pastor somewhere in Texas. He's still into music, but it's Christian music these days.
@sheldontunes Probably, but for the most part, he's always been a keyboard player. Personally, I want to know about what happened to him to make himself become a man of the cloth.
@philipandmaxwellfan There is good music like this still out there. You just need to find it. Not necessarily vocal songs, quite a few instrumental pieces, but good nonetheless. For example, Brian Culbertson, Peter White, Steve Cole, Boney James, Steve Oliver, The Rippingtons, Spyro Gyra to name just a few. Check them out and if you like this, I'm sure you will like these. Check them out and let me know. I have many more I can share with you.
Hey guys! Just letting you know Lee Ritenour has a sweepstakes contest going on right now. You can win a Yamaha Acoustic Electric Guitar, Monster® Turbine Professional In-Ear Speakers, or even 110 Electric Guitar Strings. The contest is in collaboration with their new album, 6 String Theory. Check it out! Concordmusicgroup(DOT)com/FreeDownload/6stringtheory
I keep going back and forth between this version with Kenya and Grady, and the same song done with Phil Perry. These people have it all. What must it be like to be around all this talent? Who cares about politics and reality tv, give me a healty dose of this talent and i'll be complete.
Do somebody has the guitar and keyboards chords of the songs "101 Eastbound" and "Is It You"? please. Have a nice day everybody.Happy to meet Lee's fans.
I have heard many times that Michael Jackson was the first black person to appear on MTV, but, since this was the 43rd video played on the first day of MTV on August 1, 1981, I suppose that isn't the case.
this version of Is It You? is included in Lee Ritenour's Overtime album. But the original version, sung by Eric Tagg, was in Lee Ritenour's Rit album. Both were well played and each has their own charm.
i don't know if Lee Ritenour has album called Rit's House. It must be recent album, right? I do know his album Rit (with Is It You) 1981 I think, and Rit 2 (i think it was 1984. Forgot it was a long time ago).
Rit album cover was Lee standing/ leaning on a red brick wall.
hope this helps. But Rit album is for the original version of Is It You. The video here was from his Overtime album.
foppe71- You have the wrong brotha. Bass player is multi-talented Terry Cruz. He was in the movie "White Chicks" and played a basketball star, opposite Shaun Wayons. Check it out for yourself in the classic dinner scene- he is just as talented in that movie as he is smooth on the bass.
