  • its a bit special..

  • can you make a longer version of this so i can dl it this is sick man!!!! plzzzzz

  • MIDI file?

  • Good job on this. If you only put some more time in finding better samples, and add more effects to your sounds, this could be mutch better.

  • watch?v=obgU9AfjRjI

  • MORE COWBELL

  • How did u get it to sound like its building up from about 0:50 to 1:05?

  • Dude can't find that BASSOPOTOMUS in fruity loops 9 xxl Edition :( has it been renamed or been Taken away or wa :) thanks in advance mate

  • That looks like some serious compression going on in the limiter!

    /watch?v=cgeqsNtsbPc

  • What's That Synth called and what plugin does it belong to???

  • can u send me da .flp ?

  • good good....can you tell how have you made this type of sound ( start at 1:33)??.....i really like it

  • you mean that the volume at the synth and bass go up and down when the kicks kick in, its called side-chaining

  • @PiaruBellu it's just a soft lead (im not sure how to make one though) but it got a automation that make the volume go up and down ;- ) then you get that cool effect :)

used it on a choir for a school project, worked great ;- )

  • @PiaruBellu There is no new type of sound at 1:33, you must talk about the peak controller...? or the sound effect?

love this track by the way

  • @PiaruBellu It's a technique called Side-chaining. Add a Fruity Kick channel, and send it to a mixer channel, and then add whatever you want to side-chain to another mixer channel. Add a Fruity Peak Controller to the Fruity Kick, and right click the mixer channel volume knob for the sound you want side-chained, go to "Link to Controller". In the box where it says Input, type in "0.8-Input" and there you have it. Put the side chain in a different pattern and have them both playing simultaneously.

  • @aliishaq11 thanks guy!

  • @PiaruBellu sidechain

  • GOOD 5/5*

  • Watch my songs or search " Snow 128"

  • Hey, what sound is that that comes in at around 0:35 and builds up, and also, what is that windy sound that comes in around 1:02 ? thanks

  • nice work bro 5/5

  • dmn guys ur good x( i cant use for shit! ITS NICE SOMEONE LEARN ME WITH IT XD aaa!!!! want it in my phone link? plz =p

  • tnx

  • which preset were you using for bass in texture

  • I used the "Bassopotomus." I changed up some of the sliders a little bit though.

  • im liking this even more then the original track haha

  • lol Thanks!

  • @gselsidi booo!!

  • Do you have to buy the software to create tracks? cuz everytime i download it i get lost and i don't know what i'm doin...

  • Most production software has a free demo available to try it before you buy it. FL Studio's doesn't let you save your work, but its still very helpful to see which software works best for you. I tried at least three different programs before I discovered FruityLoops.

  • nice track check out some of my songs

  • Please, can you send me the flp or just all melodies, please ?!

    I love this song

  • wow ! Great Song, good job !

what sound do you use for your main lead ?

  • nice

  • Very very nice .. how did you create this?

And what vst do you use?:P

  • Great skills my friend, I am especially amazed that you didn't use the sample they include for Faxing. You my friend, are an idol among idols.

  • Hey, thanks man. I appreciate that.

  • are you sidechaining the bassline from the kick?

  • I was young and naive when I made this. I sidechained everything from the kick.

  • 1. lower the tempo

    2. use a different kick

    Besides that its good.

  • Yeah, the tempo should be a little lower. Almost(?) all Deadmau5's songs have a tempo of 128bpm. Also, the person that recommended the z3ta VST is correct, there's a preset called Chords of Life which HAS to be the one Deadmau5 uses, it's exactly the same sound.

  • nice man! sounds good the only thing i'd change is the kick and the snare

    keep it up! =)

  • Now picture a nice sunset over Southern Californian waters

  • I actually really like this, especially the opening bit with the sidechaining and the two chords. Nice work! :) I'm still a novice at FL but I'm gonna keep trying out stuff.

  • Thanks! Keep working at it, you're bound to get better with practice.

  • good one nice working on it check out my music i made it calls beshi-one way ;)

  • and great work derekrau :)

  • deadmau5 ROCKS

    relly ROCKS

  • GOOD JOB, i wish know how to use the program, cheers..

  • Comment removed

  • please post chords/notes etc

  • very good :)

  • buy his sample CD.

    sounds incredibly beautiful.

a lot better than FL samples/presets.

  • his sample cd isnt that great actually. the only thing i like about it is the claps....and one kick. if it has the mau5's name on it, its guarenteed to sell. doesnt mean its quality though. VENGEANCE SAMPLES FTW

  • i have the deadmau5 cd, how do you put it onto fl studio?

  • Copy the entire folder into: C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 8\Data\Patches\Packs.

    Then refresh the browser.

And Dylanwarrenhouse... the sample pack is supurb. great club samples and even more powerful trance sounds. did you ever try EQing or putting a Slight Reverb on them? they sound very proffessional. i use the samples all the time (check out my music on my profile page) they're excellent. you don't know what you're talking about.

  • WOW

  • keep up your good work and make some own stuff...

  • Thanks, some of my other videos highlight what I've made myself. Check them out if you'd like.

  • kick should be softer and stronger other than that its great !!

  • Is that a lead or a chord? what is deadmau5 useing?

  • where did u learn how to play his notes?

  • By just listening closely to his Original Mix.

  • 1:33 fantasistic, keep it up.

make some stuff on your own tho ;)

    will be gud im sur

  • yo that was really great =]

  • great work derekrau, the cowbell is right on spot!!

  • awesome!!

i use this program to make music and is incredible.

you made it sound different and unique

    love it

    ragards

  • Very good version friend I congratulate you

  • wow great remake i love this version :)

but ya could made it more trancy with more cutoff, and filter like the original but still pretty good

  • Great remake dude!

  • great remix bro.

    loved it.

I was wondering how long it took you to mess around with the VSTs to find the correct sound? and if you know and videos, or instructions to use those VSTs?

  • thats not very hard to do with fl 8, becaus deadmau5 made faxing berlin also with fl 8 and his drum loops and so on are stored in fl 8 so you can easily use em

  • Yes, but you see, I made this before I knew his loops were included. And he made Faxing Berlin with an earlier version of FL.

  • mhh..... kay..... then i've gotta agree that it's made very well

  • otsib

  • me gusto... buena opcion. buen set. jojojoj... saludos

  • Sounds good. What VSTs do you use?

  • String Theory and Texture. Both are free and available @ the ugoaudio website.

  • hahaha that's great

  • Sounds good! Try to use a midi keyboard with effects connected with FL and get a better sound card, maybe processor will help you too. Work to get more clear melody and pay attention on bpm.

    5/5 ;)

  • i like the difference

  • I would prefer to use ableton to cover this track, nice work in FL, sounds great!!

  • sounds pretty nice me thinks...i like it :D

  • tempo should be 128

  • Yes, the tempo is off. Too late now I guess.

  • What VST's did you use?

  • im a big deadmau5 fan, nice cover ;) i use fruity also

  • its good based on what you were using

  • ...did you use the faxing berlin loops that are INCLUDED WITH FL STUDIO? Even if you didn't people should know that.

  • Nope. But its true, there are Faxing Berlin percussion and melody samples included with the software. It's pretty clear mine is different from the real thing, however.

  • nice work man ;)

  • im absolutely loving this song atm, and this is a good cover. well done mate.

  • Why, thank you, sir.

  • good job, i like it :)

  • I appreciate that.

  • a good version, but is better the original :P

  • Thank you, I prefer the Original too.

  • good job... as good as the original mix :).

  • Thanks, glad you like it.

  • too fast

  • Indeed it is. Just an oversight on my part. It's only 4bpm faster, and I wasn't too worried about the speed when I made this.

  • wait...somethings missing in the intro.

the cowbell is too empty by itself.

  • i agree that the most part of this trak is too centered and not wide enough for that tight stereo mix.

that sweeping patch is a little weak n' dense and the keyboard part should be pan'd between 9 and 11 o'clock somewhere...to give it more life on the right side regions of the trak.

perfect balance it everything for club music.

Did you clone the bassline and pan them hard left and hard right? they seem too high up near the center.

did you consider tweaking da cowbell? use effects!

  • Nice one.Just some points to make(no offence!):This track could benefit from some multibandcompression on the master, and a different kick sound. This one sounds much to fat imo.

I like the way you sidechained the synth but the sounds just isn't right. Make a lead that sounds more like a 'pad/supersaw'. Also you should use a LP filter, quantize it not so strong, and play with the velocity. Now it sounds a bit 'midi'.

Also: to to work on your mix! in depth (reverb) and wideness (stereo).

  • You make some good points, but this was just a basic technical cover. I never meant it to sound as good as deadmau5. I'm sure I could make it better, but it'll still be just a cover. Obviously, I prefer deadmau5's original over mine.

  • There's no clipping. I think it's your own equipment nexusdb.

    @derekrau: Nice try emulating Deadmau5 :D

  • give me the kick sample :P

  • youre clipping, asshole! learn to mix, noob!! none of these fl users could do a good mix to save their life!

  • Well, this asshole noob just got a track signed. Hm...

  • LOL! to which label?

  • Adicto Records. Which label are you signed to???

  • well. i'm not signed... YET!

    what is your artist name?

  • RAU

  • ok. cool stuff. sorry about that comment. in that pic your levels were clipping like crazy. thats all.

  • No harm done. Having watched your video, you are a much better dj than I'll ever be. I can't quite do that yet lol.

  • so i checked out your myspace and listened to your some of your tracks.

you write some good melodies and everything sounds really good. but i just have one suggestion. most of your tunes dont change much throughout the track. you might want to keep things interesting by changing up the arrangement and switching up the melodies a little bit. nice sound though.

  • omg! du willst fruity loop mit einem echten moog vergleichen?? lol

  • i love it

  • wow, impressive. do "jaded" then i'll really be impressed.

  • Its so good man i love it more than the original version Thanks!!

  • Thanks!

  • I love the bassline..do you mind telling me which VST you used and how you were able to make it sound like that?

  • if u jus change the basslines to the similar ones deadmua5 uses...and i bet its gona b a wonderfull tune !

  • can you send it to me as midi file???

i would like to make a remix of this amazing song.

  • uhh actually impressive :) +5

  • I really like it. good job
