  • Really? None of the comments are "wow what a great song" or "the oud sounds cool" its all historical debate. Seriously, just enjoy the music that is what it's here for, this is a rarity just enjoy it while these musicians are still alive to carry on history

  • Armenian is not the same as "American"...mixes marriages will change looks, but to say Armenian isn't a race because a few blond mixed Ryssian/European marriages is ignorant...why do you think the term Armenoid exists????

  • To all who say the oud is a Turkish instrument, learn some history, Turks cams to Anatolia in early 1000'sAD....Armenians and Greeks are the home races of Anatolia. So to say anything us more Turkish than Greek or Armenian is a joke. Need I remind you all you Turks that your from Central Asia

  • VAYYYYYY ENJ SHATEK XHOSUM.....

  • this is for radnoybaku (who must be azeri) sen inanilmaz edipsiz bir cocuksin...if you don't know anything about music and its shared roots- keep your mouth shut!

  • SHUT THE FUUCK UP AND ENJOY MUSIC

  • donmarley69 you are parrot,WTF biyzantine ???THIS OTTOMAN MUZIK,BU BIR OSMALI MUZIGIDIR,INKAR EDENIN ANASINI SIKIM

  • Noa4h hahahah all armenians liar rat :))))this osmanli music !

  • @radnoybaku listen to Osmanli music and listen to Byzantine music. Ottoman classical music is very similar to Byzantine classical music. The Ottomans inherited Constaninople's (senin icin Istanbul) royal culture but added an Islamic twist so they used Arabic influenced maqams. Already the Sultans were not Turkish, they were Islamified Cherkes, Georgian, Armenian, and etc but no royalty in the world has pure blood. Also radnoybaku effendi, MANY Armenians were composers of Ottoman classical music

  • @donmarley69

you should more search to turkish music. you are wrong because turkish music is on everywhere. ottomans were on where is everywhere. i mean it's not about byzantine. its all about ottoman. consider that ottoman music reach bosnia to georgia

  • @donmarley69 Thats an interesting phrase " The Ottomans inherited Constaninople's royal culture ".

  • IDIOTS THIS TURKISH INSTRUMENT,ALL ERMENIANS LIAR :)))

  • @radnoybaku

Actually, the "modern" Oud originates from Iraq and Iran.

    :)

    Fail

But hey, at least you appreciate Oud music!

  • Sirun e

  • Richard rocks!!

  • Richard rocks!!

  • Beautiful

  • gerçekten takdir edilesi bir sanatkar richard hagopian.

  • bu aile türk müziğine büyük katkılarda bulunan bir ailedir. hagopian ailesine saygıyla.

  • a little information: maqams ( in Turkish makam) are all born at the time of Osmanlı Empire. and the oud ( ud in Turkish) is a traditional instrument in Turkish Art Music. also some words in this song are in Turkish.

  • I agree, and the language is just superb too. I couldnt imagine to create such experience with singing in english. I wish i could upload armenian dictionary into my brain the same way like pc from cds. When i try to play oud, and use or to try to use the maqams correctly and try to imitate the rhythm and feel I still sound kind of rocky. lol

  • whats the name of this song? where can i find the lyrics?

  • @burningsinews Verse 1 I had a love who was slender and tall, she had a look that could not be compared Beautiful like a queen, etc etc... Verse 1 repeated Chorus: AKH (is ouch, an expression to describe hurt) Akh my beautiful love, why did you leave why did you leave, and forget about me? Akh my beautiful love, why did you leave, why did you leave and forget about me? I think you get the idea? Classic Armenian song. Very beautiful, happy and sad at the same time.
  • @degacci oh, i meant in armenian!

  • if god exist, he must have the hands of richard hagopian

  • beautiful.....

  • çoşkun sabah modeli olmuş :D

  • helal amca super olmus bravoo

  • although there are lots of armenians in middle east, particulary in lebanon.

  • @nazarian3 including the lebanese, nearly all armenians of the middle east are from turkey. many of them still speaks turkish.

  • @aporia82 they had to escape from turkey

  • @nazarian3 no, the ottoman government settled them to there after the forced emigration.... some of them returned to anatolia after WW1 by their will...

  • @aporia82 enough turkish lies!

  • @joejoe4812 seriously!!

  • armeian is at the border of midel east we are caucasian but in the past we shoud be middel easrtern

  • @AllochGs "Armenian" is no different than saying "American" for the most part.its become more of a geographical location than a race (even though there is a specific genotype called an "armenoid".ive seen armenians that look like total Indians from India and ive seen blonde hair blue eyed armenians that look like Russians but i still view us as middle eastern.look at our music, food, traditional clothing,PRESENCE IN JERUSALEM SINCE 401 AD AND HAVING AN ENTIRE QUARTER OF THE CITY DEDICATED TO US

  • @cracksmoker321 Armenian alphabet is from the same source as the AMHARIC ALPHABET from ETHIOPIA go check it out.Mesrop Mashdots went to ethiopia, we were always used as royal emissaries. we have always had relations and intermarriage between Arabic and Africans. Ethiopian DNA tests come out to be comprised of African, Armenoid and Norwegian genetics. We have been conquered by Arabs and Persians and Turks over and over we are a hybrid race of mostly mid east and some european genetics.

  • @AllochGs Let's say it is because Armenia is at the bottom of the caucasus and border to Iran and other Arabian countries, it came to be so that Armenian culture is very much Arab/Persian like, but yet at the same time it has a unique taste.

  • Wow, I'm so happy and proud to share the same last name as this guy.

  • I advise you to listen to the ( Abadi Al Johar ) ...

and i leave the judge for you

  • actually armenia is a indo-european country we are not middle eastern mygoodname

  • Agh im anush yarus...tradional armenian love song. This song from Richard A.Hagopians selected song of armenian folk music album.I remember Great ud player udi hrant kenkulyan, born istanbul Turkey.

  • Ah im sirun yar...........Shat hianali!!!

  • could anyone give us the lyrics ?

  • "Agh Eem Anoosh Yarus" (Ah, My Sweet Darling) I once had a lover tall like a poplar tree, Queen of the most beautiful! Ah, my sweet, why did you leave me? Why did you leave me and forget me? She had big deep black eyes, She looked like a beautiful black raven. I am singing day & night like a canary. Ah, my sweet, let us love each other forever! You to me and me to you! Ah, my sweet, why did you leave me? Whey did you forget me?
  • THIS MAN IS GOD

  • Rompi, rompi !

  • what's he playing? ist his own composition?

  • it's called agh im anush yarus

  • Most Armenians are black hair curly with brown or black eyes. That's Middle Eastern - not Aryan. That guy Jay is stupid.

  • "In the 18th century, the most ancient known Indo-European languages were those of the Indo-Iranians' ancestors. The word Aryan was adopted to refer not only to the Indo-Iranian people, but also to native Indo-European speakers as a whole, including the Albanians, Armenians, Greeks, Latins, and Germans." there you go mr know it all, straight from wikipedia since you couldnt figure out how to do it yourself. I doubt your Armenian, I have never met an Armenian who knew so little about their race

  • armenians are middle eastern and aryan. same as the persians. iran means "land of aryans" if you dont believe me

  • Ays VARBEDE iren kaghtser tsaynov yev voske madnerov tatayin veren var totvets.. Bravo!

  • kumkap you are obviously extremely ignorant. i am surprised you can even read. your comments are ridiculous.

richard is a gem of a musician who has preserved many songs that would have been lost and his oud playing in the Armenian style is unmatched.

  • Why do even answer him, he's just a retard provocator like the rest of them. By the way, a famous Turkish journalist 'Fehmi Koru', met 'Richard Hagopian' a few years ago in NY and praised him in his column

  • I love RH, but why does he think he has a voice? Oudeh miyayn n'vakeh, yev togh oureesh yerkeluh ashagerdneren tzaynuh l'senk. Hajik.

  • His voice sounds great to me. Who do you consider having a great voice ? Please tell me i don't know much of Arabic music.

  • This is Armenian music not arabic. But anyway, I guess you would have to hear some of his other tracks on the cd's he puts out . Often the voice is scratchy and nasal and out of key.

  • I like Richards voice and so do most of his fans. He sings like an old time der hayr which is perfect for the style of music he plays. Yeah its a little nasal but its supposed to be that way. But he's rarely "out of key".

  • Interesting analogy- like a der hayr, I never thought of it that way. I guess I'm king of a singing snob since my father was a tenor who performed at many Armenian concerts, as well as in Armenia.

  • I meant to write, 'kind' of a singing snob.

  • isdhe tseke pan me hasgetsenenk asor, menk ge portsenk gor vor esenk vor menk JERMAG as enk, toun al gllir bes gellas gor SEV enk gses gor !

  • ...though, as mentioned in history books, is has brown or blonde hair, and white skin.

  • i was curious about something, do armenians count themselves as middle eastern, european, or what? and do armenian-americans count themselves as white?

  • yes, armenian americans or armenian canadians fall in the category of caucasians. As for Armenia, great question. I can tell you one thing, Armenia has a national soccer team which plays for the Euro qualifying. But in reality, Armenia is not in Europe nor in the middle east. Its in between. Thats why we are so unique...lol

  • thats what the census says but what do you as i assume are armenian consider yourself along those lines

  • my friend we are originally white, we are one of the Aryan races, and im not bluffing im speaking out of facts acknowledged by all the great historians of our time. Now, after the genocide in 1915 as you may know, many armenians migrated to almost all countries of the world, but basically in great numbers to the middle east , the US and to Russia. In Armenia all have white skin but black hair, whereas in the middle east there are many blonde armenians with darker skin. The original Armenian..

  • i see, thanks for the info

  • Armenians are of the Aryan race, anyone considered "white" is also of the aryan race. anatomical features have nothing to do with race.

what does worthless skinhead descrimination have to do with Armenians bieng aryan?

  • you must be stupid. Armenians are NOT aryan. any association with aryan or skinhead is really Turkish.

  • correction.. YOU must be stupid. "aryan" is a race, many middle eastern regions are populated by people of the aryan race. dont believe me? google it genius.

POS skinheads adopted the term "aryan" and unfortunatly it is often associated with them, but it does not belong to them and i would be surprised if more than half of them even knew what the term meant.

  • I repeat-Jay is a moron. I am Armenian I am white but I could be black. I most def am not Aryan and neither is any other Armenian. Take your books and go home Jay -

  • Can someone write the lyrics in Roman alphabet please?

I am trying to transcribe it without knowing even a single word of Armenian but I want to know the correct words since this is a very beautiful song and he plays and sings it fabulously.
