This movie had alot of flaws, but even though it has no original songs of it's own I'll admitt their recycling of already existing songs is very good. But my god can the screen shots last longer than 5 seconds in some of these musical numbers! The cinematagrahy looks gorgeous but I barelt get a look at it through most of the movie! The Come What May song scenes seem to be the only ones that slow down.

If you like Moulin Rouge then check out the movie version of Romeo & Juliet by Baz I agree the play was written by Shakespeare but the the screenplay for that movie was written by Baz. When a bus full of high school students watches this on a 24 hour bus ride and every 16-year old girl sings along because they now every word, without ever have hearing about most of the original songs. Also when a high school's homecoming theme is Moulin Rouge, even though the movie was released over 6 years ago, and even though the theme may not be scholastically appropriate, the student body pushed and pushed for it. # of films seen isnt imp.
