@BlancoSoul Oh ha sorry, I didn't mean to reply to you. I meant to ask the guy who posted the video. I wanted to know a little about owning a Maserati.
@buttnut1080 - I guess your question was for me. Well I used to own a QP automatica which has now been replaced with a 612 Scaglietti. The QP is a great car don't get me wrong but yes there are reliability issues. I have had 3 so far an '04, an '06 and an '08. First 2 ended up with engine problems although reliability had greatly improved over the years. Also they were used as daily drivers. Great cars, luxurious, comfortable and sound great - but very delicate and requires TLC unlike say an M5.
@JonnybravoM3 Thanks for responding. I'm glad to hear that they've gotten better at reliability over the years. I just wanted to know that it wasn't so poor that owning one wouldn't be worth it. Congratulations on the 612. Sounds like you've done pretty well.
@nytquil1 - I always trust Germans in terms of reliability and no doubt the S65 is a bullet and blow the doors off pretty much any car on the highway --- BUT, the Maser GTS has a LOT more personality and charisma. Whenever you drive the car, it just feels like its your birthday or any other special occasion whereas the S class feels more like your everyday sedan ... that is until you put your foot down! lol. In all honesty, I think this exhaust sound just says it all. :)
@JeepGCOverland47 - Regular 2008 Maserati Quattroporte Automatica was in the shop...but since I've got good relations with them, they agreed to give me the GTS demo car to test out. What a magnificent machine!
@Cybergig00 - Thanks a lot for the comment. I agree using a camera phone isn't exactly the best option, will try to post some new HD vids from now on.
Just amazing. What a distinct sound. When the Sport GT was introduced I thought how is it possible to make such a good sounding car sound better? Well they somehow managed it.
As for the Blackberry camera it still picks up sound beautifully.
Walla zein. Thats a really good deal. Bas whenever I see a used car from anywhere fil 5aleej I always think twice la2ana you never know what the owner (or his kids) does to the car or if its abused. These cars are extremely delicate and the slightest bit of abuse can mean big bills for the future owner.
I heard maserati's had a tendancy to need alot of maintenance, being a bit fragile even if you drive them with caution. I know they're much more reliable than they were twenty or thirty years ago (like jaguars for example) but still are they that fragile? But i have to say I'd get one anyway even if i had to get it fixed every week :D
Correct. Thats exactly it. My '08 QP Automatica went to the dealership to change a part which the factory had a recall on and so the dealership gave me this QP GTS to play with for a couple of days. They would normally give a QP owner another Automatica just like theirs, but thanks to some connections and pulling strings, I was given this bad-boy.
@Bonerific0 - With this one, they've made a lot of improvements. No serious issues. But with my last 3 quattroporte's, every single one suffered serious engine issues. These cars aren't build for daily driving I feel nor are they well equipped for the hot climate in my country.
@JonnybravoM3 That's unfortunate. I know they're really finely tuned, but you'd think a sedan would be built to a higher "default" reliability. The Quattroporte is one of the few sedans that truly excites me.
Maybe you should save some money and buy your self a decent camera cuase it sucks
