i LOVE all your tutorials, and this is one of my favorites. since the "foolish me" blush has been discontinued, do you have any recommendations for similar shades (any brand but preferably one available in the u.s.) that can be used as a substitute?
Hi! One (rather stupid) question for you: Could you please show a really close closeup of your models eye, so that one can see where exactely you place the eyeliner on the upper eyelid?
hi...amy i love your tutorials...i have a quick question though...you know when you use fake eye lashes...do you reuse them once youve already used them?...cause like your putting mascara on them right so they're not reusable are they???...if you do reuse them how to you take the mascara off of them???
I can answer that for you... yes you can reuse fake eyelashes, in fact one pair can last quite a while. You can put your mascara on before the eyelashes, and you just have to take care of them and treat them delicately and make sure you're using the proper adhesive. Duo Adhesive from MAC is quite good.
In regard to the Mac paint: I have two different shades of paint Untitled and Sublime Nature and I use them as a base because I have quite oily eye lids. Now I have noticed in the past that if I try to create color effects and shadowing that all the colors sort of blend together and get muddy. I had a thought that it was from the Mac paint but I am not sure. What do you suggest Amy?
Thank you for posting this video! I think I may wear my makeup like this for my Prom! My dress is a coral color, and this style would look perfect! Thanks so much. I love all of your videos!
This look is gorgeous...i want to use it for my prom but i can't do all of that to myself and that makeup is too expensive for me...what colors are the eye shadows you used? (like more common name that i could find a cheaper brand from)
yes a tutorial about dark circles would be fantastic, I have such dark circles and have used so many different concealers that I think I must just be applying it wrong!
Oh My goodness that so so B u tiful! U are amazingly talented The model is so pretty.. Ok so I have a question...
1. What works the best for the eye shadow not to crease? ans I also have a request*** Do a tutorial on how to cover very dark circles but still look natural pleaseee .... you can have admiration for a person like you! Congratulations..
Hello Amy, I love your videos, there so helpful. I am going to my friends Quincenera in May. Are they any tips you can give me for makeup? It has to be very simple and natural so i need help!!! what should i do? i want it to look fresh! HELP!
Hello, like all girly girls I love make up and all the different styles you can achieve with it. I just had to say your videos are AMAZING and you really are talented! Thanks a lot for putting them on You TUbe. Roxana
Hello :) I am very new to eyeshadows. Can you recommend an eyeshadow quad that has similar colours to the ones you used in this video? (Although I'm not sure if they would work with my skin colour - I'm from South Asia, with a golden-tan skin tone). :)
A quad! Tough question. Which country are you in? What are the popular makeup brands in your area? I know a bit about brands in Indonesia and Singapore.
It depends on what look you are going for and also your skin colour. If you are anything like Megan's colouring, I use it as a medium shade (as in with this look I used a light, medium and dark shade). If on Summer or myself, I use it as the light or hilighter shade. It's great with browns, and peachy/orange colours. It's very versatile and neutral though.
If I know I am going to be photographed, I concentrate on my foundation being perfect, that I don't look too shiny! This look would be suitable for graduation photos.
Nothing really.... nothing has the same glittery look, that applies the same and is the same colour. The closest I can think of is Jardin Aires.
If you are in the states, you can get Napoleon from Sephora stores, and Sephora online. Also if you go to the Napoleon website (napoleoncosmetics dot com) he lists stockists in the states.
You are extremely talented at doing perfect makeup!!! I was wondering, since i have heavy lids, if you could make a video on this "problem" it would be great! Especially for day-makeup, when you dont wanna do the dark eyeshadow at the brow-bone.. -that's the only tip i know ;)
OMG! Megan looks GORGEOUS! U really r very talented when it comes to make-up! ^ _ ^
By the way, I'm not sure if I have small eyes or big eyes but I'm pretty sure they're a little small so do u no how to make ur eyes look larger with make-up? Please respond.
I might do a video talking about this, because there is a lot to say about this, and not enough room to type it all. I'm putting it on my list of videos.
Great Makeover Amy, Love this one the most as it is very neutral and I am really Lovin the peachy colours you have used. Well done and I think all of your makeovers are great. Luv Honey xXx
hi amy, when applying eye shadow, could you please specify and show which brush you are using? I think you are using mac brushes, but do you use for example the pencil brush / crease brush for the crease?
For my Napoleon brushes, I don't know the exact numbers for their brushes. I bought my brush roll 6 years ago, and some of their brushes have changed since.
I do use a couple of Mac brushes too. In this video I used the same Mac 239 brush to do all the eyeshadow work (bc they were soft and neutral colours).
I am going to do a video talking about my brushes, and what I use them for as well.
Wow, MAC is worldwide!! Europe, Australia, North America.. I need to get my hands on some MAC stuff!! You're so good at applying makeup, and it's so helpful to us teenage "beginners" LOL =p
I don't tell people they HAVE TO use Mac. I personally use a lot of mac products, I am a makeup artist. But you can use any brand. Just follow the colour choices I make, and then use whatever brand you like. My kit ranges from Maybelline products to Chanel. I look for colour and quality when I buy products. And just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's good.
I list all the products in the description text to the right of the video. Just click on the more info button and you'll see I list everything there. I do that for every video.
I know this may sound weird but could you possibly do a tutorial on make up for at work i.e an office environment. Even some tips would be fabulous :)
I love to make an effort but I don't want to look too over the top especially at work!
i watched this video yesterday along with the cat-eye and smokey-eye videos. today i combined all of them with some different colors to fit my skin tone, made it more casual (no glitter/false eyelashes [mine are so thick, people thought they were fake anyway!]) and it came out amazing! thank you so much for these videos!
Amy, i know i have asked it before, ut how im not a native speaker i lose some words u say..in this look the melon pigment and the shimmer are used wet or not?
Im having a fall themed wedding, but whenever I try to experiment with looks, the makeup turns out too thick, and dark...especially the eyeshadow. How would I get a stunning look that will last hours as well?
I was just thinking the same thing as NicolefromTempe. I'm like this weird tanned colour (perhaps similar to yourself or slightly darker, I'm anglo-polynesian), would the colours and shades you use here still work on me?
I have tried replying to you about 4 times, and I think YOuTube is mucking up!!! I've had problems with this video in particular. I know that they sell MakeupStore in Canada. The two shades I use from them are perfect (exit and baby). I haven't found one in either L'Oreal or Mac that I've liked quite as much as this. I'll have a scout around for something in those brands though.
Thank you! I'll be purchasing the MAC pigment and Shroom soon! I have one more to ask though before I do, is there a MAC alternative for Napoleon Perdis Sand Beige Loose Eye Dust/Shimmer?
Hi... it's me askmemakeup... I'm signed in with my music account... I am wearing a nailpolish from Sportsgirl, which is a clothing and accessories brand here in Australia.
simply flawless look.. this is my favorite look. so classy and feminine.. reminds me of the 50's-60's-ish .. especially with her thick, volumious hair and lashes..
Can you help me answer thinkbeautiful below? Do you happen to know a Mac eyeshadow that's like Stila's moonlight eyeshadow? (The colour I used under Megs' brow)
I hope you are well and everything is happy and wonderful for you!!!
Umm.... Shroom has a bit of shimmer to it. I'm sure there is something similar. I apologise I don't know the names. This Stila one is gorgeous though, and the texture is beautiful.
I love this look it is so simple and fresh looking. Perfect for a teenage girl. Well not me anymore but next party I go to will try this look. By the way, in the United States you cannot get the Shiseido Liquid Liner in black anymore. Apparently they changed the formulation and only make soft black and soft brown. They look like a watered down version. I did find a similar product from Yve St Laurent Called "Easy liner for eyes" It comes in black I am not sure about the brown.
I agree with arose4lee. Your vids are my favorite because all your looks are fabulous and feminine and your tutorials have amazing production value. Very professional. You can put all these on a DVD and sell them.
P.S. I'm going to try this (or a variation) sometime this weekend and let you know how it worked out.
Really Beautiful! I cannot wait to try this one out! I got some more false eyelashes today, I tried out some last night, and my natural eyelashes were 3mm longer than the false ones, lol.
I learnt so much from both the Kevin Aucion books as well, but you have taught me things that I have been looking for answers for years! You should write a book!
This is TRULY my favorite video yet!!!! I love a natural look with some pizzaz! You'r vid.s are my fav. & how cute is your model!?! she's a doll! Great Job!
Hhaha... thank you! I actually thought the same thing when I did a makeup course. I was like "yeah, but aren't there special little secrets only the pros know?". Hahahaha.... I can't believe the courses charge as much as they do, and teach so little! Like EnkoreMakeup... he's the best teacher I've ever had!
I know!! Seriously they tell me stuff I already knew or saw from you or Enkore...I'm waiting for some huge secret to be unleashed so I feel like I've gotten my moneys worth out of it haha. I guess I'm just paying for the certificate lol.
Hahhaa... that's exactly what I thought when I did the course. When people ask me if I did a course, I usually answer "yes, but I did it more for the certificate. I didn't learn much!"... does that sound incredibly conceited!!!? I just think if you're paying a thousand dollars for a course, gold should be pouring from their mouths! I learnt more from my Kevyn Aucoin book!

Can you help me answer thinkbeautiful below? Do you happen to know a Mac eyeshadow that's like Stila's moonlight eyeshadow? (The colour I used under Megs' brow)
I hope you are well and everything is happy and wonderful for you!!!

Do you know if there's an eyeshadow from MAC that can be used that is like Stila's Moonlight e/s? Love this look!

Umm.... Shroom has a bit of shimmer to it. I'm sure there is something similar. I apologise I don't know the names. This Stila one is gorgeous though, and the texture is beautiful.

xsparkage .... the queen of mac... also agrees with me on Shroom. Thanks to Leisha for that!

Such a pretty look. The background and props look great too. I kept searching like crazy for the Foolish Me Blush last week lol. Love your videos!

Gorgeous! Would you be able to do a similar tutorial for a person with darker/tanned skin??
arose4lee 4 years ago
Yes... my problem is just getting a model!!!! But when I do get my hands on one, I'll do this sort of look on them too.

I LOVE your videos-- I'm going to school to become a make-up artist and I seriously think I learn more from your videos than I do at school haha! =D

Hhaha... thank you! I actually thought the same thing when I did a makeup course. I was like "yeah, but aren't there special little secrets only the pros know?". Hahahaha.... I can't believe the courses charge as much as they do, and teach so little! Like EnkoreMakeup... he's the best teacher I've ever had!
askmemakeup 4 years ago
I know!! Seriously they tell me stuff I already knew or saw from you or Enkore...I'm waiting for some huge secret to be unleashed so I feel like I've gotten my moneys worth out of it haha. I guess I'm just paying for the certificate lol.
SarahhRUSH 4 years ago
Hahhaa... that's exactly what I thought when I did the course.
