  • some times i just hope my computer starts buffering again!

    (because i might get crazed)

  • ugh.....no one has a dam blender tutorial vid that actually helps me........ to be honest it only makes me feel like a retarded monkey......... if anyone who watchs these vids is familiar with the basics on head models on blender pls message me

  • what are the hot keys you are using the most and how did you go about creating the reference lines, seems like that would be a tutorial all in its own?

  • wow thats amazeing

  • realy cool how long it take sin real time?

  • i think it took around six hours...don't remember if that counts the prep work (green lines on reference image and black 3d outline curves)...

  • One word: AMAZING!

  • how do you set up the reference image?

  • Well done, but I think it's more easy to use the mirror modifier.

  • yes

  • Amazing

  • how do you merge points like that at 2:11? please tell me i always wanted to know

  • just select both edges or all four points and press "f" for fill, and it adds a face.

there's also a remove doubles function which will truly merge two nearby points into one...it's in the buttons window...

  • Thanks so much

  • read a tutorial and help files :/

  • You can merge vertices with ALT M or make a face with 3 vertices (triangle) or 4 (Quad)

  • hey maybe this is why they take pictures of people from side and front in jails so that they can model them and identify them just in case they ever escape =0

  • Funny you said that. I actually used a fake jail shot for a model. Quite handy I should say.

  • nice thanks for the post.

  • this looks much better then the other one ^^

  • ncie technique i have to try this :D

  • much improvement i'd say, the lines seem to flow better around the features

  • Nice. Ultimately, the head isn't excessively detailed, which is good. My pet peeve is when people try to make photorealistic faces...(I don't get why you don't just film the person, normally).

    Anyway, great job.

  • Even w/o the ear this model looks more real and expressive than the one you had done with anim8or. Just one question, and this has do with using reference images; what version of blender are you using?

  • how did you do the outlines at the beginning

  • i simply drew the green lines on the image using gimp. the black lines are 3d bezier curves, done in blender...

  • all i have to say is wow...

    it luks hard though

  • yeah, this was more challenging than the one i posted from anim8or...more vertices i guess...and actually tried to make an ear.
