This cant be real as if it was those people would be put in jail for encouraging people to be reckless and may as well say being kind to serial killers is good for you by delivering them a serial killer that doesn't kill the person on screen same deal thus arrest these pricks if its real!
@highrifle - you have obviously never had $10,000. It would be difficult to fill a case with such a small amount. Think about it, 100 x $100 notes is $10,000, you could stick it in your back pocket. They not only would have to use newspaper but also smaller denomination notes to make it look impressive in a case.
They shouldn't do that. It encourages people to respond to spam, 99.9999% of which are scammers who would have stolen that man's bank information had it not been genuine.

Provided that it is only done once, and is not repeated (so that random idiots who give away their bank account details are not rewarded), I see no harm in the concept as a one-off. Especially since the money eventually went to a non-profit organisation.

what people are forgetting is that this guy (Theo Delaney) KNEW the people who were sending out the email (Mother London) and had worked with them before. if they had stolen anyone's bank details given in response to what is clearly a joke it would have been an extremely foolish business move on Mother's part! those who give out personal details to a stranger clearly have more money than sense anyway. congrats Mother & Theo for spreading some xmas joy!

There is a brazilian blog (which i won't mention because you woudn't understand) that i've read recently about a brazilian guy who went to africa for tourism and ended up in a help-the-poor trip, he says that he often was asked for a couple of dollars to spend the month, or some cents for buying clothes. He even paid for an entire year of school with about 55 dollars for a boy, and promised paying his entire study costs for ever if he sent him his report cards, 10,000 is serious money there.
I wouldn't have gave it to the African Help fund. I would have tried to help the starving in the united states. I know it sounds terrible, but if we send 10000 dollars to africa, that wouldn't help much. That would feed a few select kids for a month or two, maybe clothe them. Then what happens after that? There are more opportunities in America, if you gave an american 1000 dollars, they could rent an apartment, get a job, and get on their feet forever. That's my opinion.

Real or not real. Just don't go for them. Work for your money, get a skill, master something.

@highrifle - you have obviously never had $10,000. It would be difficult to fill a case with such a small amount. Think about it, 100 x $100 notes is $10,000, you could stick it in your back pocket. They not only would have to use newspaper but also smaller denomination notes to make it look impressive in a case.

People, please do not give your bank details, infos because of emails like that. Don't fall for this stuff.
Real or not real. Just don't go for them. Work for your money, get a skill, master something.
This video only teaches some naive and gullible, desperate people to open emails like that and get scammed big time.

I don't understand the negative backlash this vid has gotten in the last 24 hours, I think this is a pretty cool stunt.
And the irony of sending this to nigeria doesn't escape me, either. I once saw a statistic that said email scams are 20% of the nigerian economy.

Even though it encourages people to reply to spam emails (which you should never do), I did like this video.
Provided that it is only done once, and is not repeated (so that random idiots who give away their bank account details are not rewarded), I see no harm in the concept as a one-off. Especially since the money eventually went to a non-profit organisation.

what people are forgetting is that this guy (Theo Delaney) KNEW the people who were sending out the email (Mother London) and had worked with them before. if they had stolen anyone's bank details given in response to what is clearly a joke it would have been an extremely foolish business move on Mother's part! those who give out personal details to a stranger clearly have more money than sense anyway. congrats Mother & Theo for spreading some xmas joy!

(depending on which part of africa.) and with that money you can give them seeds and rakes so they can farm and eat all year . So with that said... go fuck yourself.

There is a brazilian blog (which i won't mention because you woudn't understand) that i've read recently about a brazilian guy who went to africa for tourism and ended up in a help-the-poor trip, he says that he often was asked for a couple of dollars to spend the month, or some cents for buying clothes. He even paid for an entire year of school with about 55 dollars for a boy, and promised paying his entire study costs for ever if he sent him his report cards, 10,000 is serious money there.
