Yes it is funky bitch jam. Two different styles together. Some say Trey's on drugs, but I beg to differ. Haynes guitar is more crunch and Trey is more subtle, but great riffs. They are both great guitarists. I have 50 plus Phish concerts and Trey can damn well play a guitar, even saw him with Carlos, although I must admit Carlos out jammed him. They respect each other.
