Nice engine. My father bought one exactly like that about 8 years ago but we never worked on it to get it going. How does that decompressor plunger works? Does it lock so that there's no compression while you're cranking the engine and then you have to unlock it so it starts? What about the cooling? Is it a thermosiphon setup you've got there?
