@dwn1lal3 are you sure, it´s LIVE? take a mic, start to move the way she does and sing - then you´ll know how "LIVE" this is... I love Madonna, been to many of her shows, have almost all of her recordings..., she´s nothing but fake...

@sergenovique Nah, maybe parts of this, like the chorus, use prerecorded backup, but you can tell she's singing live. As for her shows - of course a lot of it needs to be lip syncing, we also have to consider she performs for two hours almost every day during a tour. This is just one song though, you can pull it off even if you're dancing. She can (and could even back then) sing pretty well if she's in her comfort zone. Cf. Sooner or Later at the Oscars. It's shockingly good.

@cowfman yes, definitely!!! Oscars was her best performance ever, where we could see how much human she is. As for her shows - you cannot pull it off for 2 hours long when you dance - no chance. I do "Meistersingers" by Wagner at the Operahouse in Zurich now a days, at one difficult place (5 minutes long) I must run up the stares (10 meters high - nothing to compare to what Madi does) - afterwords I´m done!!! Breathless and... (let it be my secret ;-) I´ve spent 12 years on stage as a singer...

When the VMAs were worth watching. This is the first one Iv can remember watching. I was 2 and fell in love with Madonna. I don't remember anything else about the show except this performance.

This performance is insanely amazing. I think we can be proud that we lived in an era where Madonna changed the face of popculture and sex symbols. That will not happen in the near future. So we can say that we were part of ' the day Madonna started to make history!' :-)
