  • I assume the illusion of Gaia lp never came

  • audio desyncs

  • i think i played that first game a blockbuster a long time ago, when they had controllers for various systems like the genesis and the snes sticking out of wooden cabinets

  • Who was doing the Orcale LPs? there are plent different ones on youtube but I wanna watch the one you were wanting to see:p

  • I preferred seasons actually. It had a bit less puzzle solving, and a bit more action, something I enjoy in a Zelda game. Also, you didn't have 2 maps to explore! That kinda ticked me off a bit, though not enough that I didn't beat both games for all 3 statuses on each.

  • Something tells me there is an audio-video desync in this video.

  • if it sucks on the gba, why are you playing it on the gba?

  • and how do you know that? did you read some lore about the world of crystalis' phonetics? did you ask the creator of the game? did you play the remake where they pronounce it that way every time? did you pull it out of your ass?

    I know what I think.

  • Crystalist is definitely a game you need to do in sections. It can get real frustrating. Although, most times I play more than one game at once anyway cause I always find myself needing breaks from anything I play for too long. I found myself only getting to the Ice Caves before taking an extended break, then my NES decided that it was only going to play for 10 minutes at a time. =\ I think this is on Wii VirtualConsole so I need to get on that. Crystalis is awesome.

  • It's a great game I assure you.

But it's quite the BITCH if you don't take breaks. The first Zelda was the same way. Unfortunately when Crystalis got re-released it suffered from MORE problems despite the new technology. If it had made improvements and taken a few more hints from other similar games of the time, it would have been more popular.

  • Before I started using roms and I had my shitty NES I could only go through the game in one go because the saves wouldn't work. Every time you restarted the game or turned it off and came back later the saves would be gone.

Yeah they definitely messed up by re-releasing crystalis multiple times

I also prefer ages over seasons, partly because at the time I first played them I didn't know how to get through woods where you have to change the seasons in a certain order or something.Hella confusing

  • I love your commentary style but seriously, Crystalis is one of the greatest NES titles of all times, thats why it makes so many top tens. It has some of the best music, graphix, and controls of any nes title. The story complexity was unheard of at the time. The reason you wandered around aimlessly for so long is because you payed no attention at all to whats going on.. I watched you talk to the guy asking for the statue.. then just walk away without giving it to him.You can also ask the wisemen

  • The graphics are actually just "decent" for the time of it's release, there were many games that had far superior graphics then.

The controls are somewhat stiff, they are good though! In reality if you compare it to Zelda or even Star Tropics, the controls are not as refined.

I beat the game already, many times, I know what to do, the point of my Let's Play videos is -amusement- which is not the same thing as what speed runs try and accomplish.

I love Crystalis but it can be very annoying.

  • Well I notive alot of other reviews saying the controls are perfect and smooth.. and thats they way they feel for me too.. Zelda had nice controls too.. but to me startropics were just OK.. ST2 was terrible i thought. Guess just a matter of opinion.

Well I said gfx for an nes title not time.. i cant think of any other new titles with such great cut scenes and gfx.. maybe some ties tho

I thought you were serious with the game play sorry.. good humor then.

    Use ranged attacks poking sux

  • If I was serious, I would have quit playing. I like the game, a lot in fact, it's just very frustrating when you play it a lot for a long period of time.

  • they made a sega genesis version

it's much better than the freakin gb version...

  • They made quite a few versions, none are as good as the arcade. The Genesis' sound was meh, the SNES versions were missing one character (which is why they made FF: Guy) and the GBA, if I'm not mistaken, was a remake of the NES version.

    Ah ports, such fun.

  • Wow, you must be a crappy gamer if you hate Crystalis so much... That's probably the best NES game ever made. Certainly much better than Marble Madness... Stick to your bargain bin games, buddy, and leave the cult classics to the true gamers.

  • I love Crystalis, it was one of my favorite NES games.

So Mr. "True Gamer" if you have a problem with my -meant to be a joke- commentary that should be looked at with humor and take me seriously, then you really need to take a look around the internet.

    Internet =/= Serious Business

  • the NES version of Marble Madness is also okay... never tried the arcade one before.

  • The arcade one is -amazing-, NES is...not bad. But if you ever see an old MM arcade machine, PLAY IT, for the love of GOD play it.
