  • Enlistment day on the 1st of June :)

  • It's funny... That retard platoon commander was the worst at drill out of all of them....

  • Whoa, I was randomly surfing youtube and stumbled on my march out!?!?!, freaky!!

Thank god the rain stopped that day.

  • wow they all step at the perfect time togeather i cant wait to join up

  • Im heading off to Kapooka this year and im interested in what classroom lessons you do while there..Are the lessons like Army rules regulations history of the army things like that.

  • @jnncbuhyc cheers for the reply...

  • @surf3rsnapper Do the australians wear any uniforms like the american dress blue's?

  • @MrPuddingate The SNCOs and officers used to have what was called partol blues but they were mainly worn at mess functions. Officer cadets at the Royal Military College wear blues for winter parades. Well they did when I was there back in the early 90s.

The enlisted soldiers you see here are wearing what is coloqially called "pollies" short for polyester uniform which is the usual summer dress. They used to have wollen "battle dress" for winter, similar to what the British Army wore.

  • That was a top vid !!! thanks for the memories:) !!

  • that be me next year omg i am so keen, wanna make my family pround specially my older bro that is over iraq, =)

  • @surf3rsnapper oi oi oi

  • can you tell me when they started..??

i have a child on the way there shortly as well as another grandchild due mid jan, trying to work out timing funding notwithstanding..

  • spot the odd one out :/

  • the only thing i hated about the army was the inital employment training but once i got passed that it was great

  • wow so many fattys

  • this will be me next year i hope

  • they really should make the uniforms look cooler

  • @screenscanner its a Military parade not a fashion parada

  • @lilolaus i dont care what sort of parade it is. presentation is still important.

  • yeh. the uniforms worn in the army reserves aac and even the army usualy are like the normal camo suit you would expect. i think these are parade uniforms.

  • @screenscanner Yes, because cool looking uniforms is what its all about. Nothing to do with tradition or any of that rubbish.

FYI new field uniforms are coming out soon. I hope they look cool enough for your likings.

  • @sniperTK82 nice one mate.

  • Nothing really has changed in the last 33 years since i marched out in 1978 except for the weapons..Brought back great memories thanks.

  • its not all its cracked up to be........

  • congratulations guys!! good work

  • is it mandatory to have some pud as training staff?

  • Forgot to thank an old mate from 23pl who ended up as an instructor at Kapooka many years later, Ken "ROCK" Hudson.

  • Shit i remember doing this back in the late 70's with 23 Platoon. Never had any pic's to remember it by so thanks for posting it. Went from here to 4pl

B coy, 1RAR. "Expect the unexpected" Well done 23 PL.Makes me proud. Elvis.

  • I saw this in related videos, and while I was watching I noticed the date and realised that this was filmed literally days before my own march out! I specifically remember that rainy day hearing this exact march out parade and thinking "in a few days that'll be me, finally leaving this place"

  • 36 platoon MAy 2010...

  • This should be me within the next year :D

  • hahah ohh how i do NOT miss Kapooka, looking back on it, it was alright, but when your there, god you start to hate the place!

  • I've still got the bottle of C Company port in the cupboard.

  • I was 23 Pl in 1989. good luck to them all.

  • Good and bad memories seeing that bloody place again

  • @Willby84 would you do it again? :D

  • They have it so mush easier doing drill with the F88. But well done guys except the officers drill and delivering his words of command.

  • damn those boys should be proud. cant wait to get down there.

  • I leave for Kapooka on the 10th, the passing out parade will be my personal highlight.

  • Good to see but first thing i noticed was the fat Pl staff. How the fuck can they instruct troops being fucking overweight themselves. Fucking disgrace.

  • @Riyun72, I knew plenty of instructional staff in my 21 years in the army that maybe carried a few extra pounds. OK so they don't fit your idea of the perfect soldier but that doesn't mean they aren't professional at thier job.

  • Oh this was good to watch, I'm going to see my son march out in October!

  • holy crap, this was the platoon that marched out b4 me. i marched out of 24 platoon in july. same officers and all.

  • haha i was here at this march out. I was there to see my cousin. i will be there in 2 weeks :D

  • Great to hear the band still plays the same quck march tunes as they did 31 years ago.

  • nice work! i am going away in nov so its to see what i will be doing. Thanks for the video

  • Nice video. Memories of my marchout in 1979.

  • Bloody inspiring, you guys'r heroes. *Salute!

  • omg iv been there to see my bro march out omg :)

  • Ithink this is a great viid for anyone to watch

  • Hey guys im thinking about joining the army and was wonder if anyone could help me about any information regarding kapooka. Im not the brightest tool in the shed either so to speak when it comes to solving equations, was wondering how smart do you have to be to get in. cheers!

  • @arumasei mate aslong as you can do yr 9/10 maths(or barely) and have some work experience then you'll have a good chance of getting in. going in as an officer, pilot, etc, is a whole different story.

  • My mate marched out in feb of this year. Ill be entering in 2 months...

  • @rapidfire21

kapooka will be the best and worst time of your life, what are you going in as?,
