Thanks =) honestly I bought a cheapo brand 7 piece set for about $400 I got a nice pair or pearl double eliminator bass pedals for about 350 and i found a 7 piece sabian Xs20 cymbal set on sale for about 500. and some random stands and upgrades over the years so all in all it was roughly 1500. but starting out you won't need to spend that much just get a decent 5 piece or something. anything more than that and you wont know what to do with it all and its easier to learn the basics on a small kit

And as far as tips for druming, just remember to keep loose. If you clench too tight you'll end up tiring your self out real quick. And don't skimp on the rudiments or more basic stuff because youll regret it later when you realize that its harder to learn it later. also if you're really serious about getting good, spend at LEAST 20 minutes a day concentrating on your left hand(if you're right handed)thats what holds me back the most these days is my left hand that can't keep up, happy drumming!

i've only used gloves once and i hated it. you kinda lose the feel of the stick. -like if you get blisters, you're probably just holding the stick wrong. like when i first started playing, i got blisters all the time- but i was in 7th grade. lol now (in college for music) i know how to hold sticks... -id hope by now i'd know how to... lol

yeah, I've been playing for almost a decade, so theres little chance I'm holding my sticks wrong... I usually just get calluses but i hadn't played for a couple months. And if the gloves are leather you have to warm them up first before you can play with them or you do lose the feel. I usually put them on and rub my hands together for a while and then do some warm up exercises, but I definitely prefer playing bare handed as well.

If you watch old westerns the wheel actually appear to be turning backwards. This was because the cameras weren't good enough to capture the speed of the wheels turning. More than likely that's what's happening here. The camera can't pick up the accurate movements. Everything digital is quantized

This song took me like 5 months to actually get down, granted i didn't practice very often. most songs don't take that long maybe a week or two of consistent practice. I've never used tabs for drums before, i just listen and play it over and over again till i figure it out usually. luckily blake posted a video of himself playing this so that made it much easier on my part :)

Its actually some cheapo off brand drum set i bought off e-bay for like $400 :P it was originally a 7 piece but i took off the high tom, it just got in the way. the drums themselves dound good with some decent heads but the hardware on the kit makes me want to pour gasoline on it and light it on fire :/
