@dcodmdiamond They did do a live recording of this there!! They also played this at a lot of gigs!! I recorded this at Wright State University 1971 still have the ticket stub. Thanks.
Ted Nugent fired people from the Amboy Dukes because he suspected they were doing drugs I hardly think he was on acid. He is a republican now. Go figger eh>?
What is so surprising about him possibly being a Republican? He's always been a smart man of unique intelligence. You act as if Republicans don't Rock!
@jhorsty Those were some good days of energized music!! Thanks! Wish I'd had a digital video camera back then!!! Images burned in my mind but I can't share them!!! LOL!!
Wow, I always hated that Journey intro and then he never played the song. Anyway, my brothers band Dagwood's claim to fane was that they opened doe this version of the Dukes at the Eastown Theater in Detroit. Great post! Also loved Marriage and all the old stuff.
Does anybody on You Tube have Call Of The Wild by Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes 1973? My favorite of his. But the Communist Fags on You Tube have no fuckin variety video's Anymore. They have shut them all down and removed all the only Good stuff.
This would be because this is my live recording on a cassette recorder on a tape that is 38 years old. One would hope that a prorecording would sound better!
I absolutely love Survival Of The Fittest. It has always been my favorite Ted album. The shame is what actually appears on that album is only about half the show. There is more to be released I have heard
I remember seeing them back then. I think my ears are still ringing! Survival is my fav. Nuge album. Ted was an awesome player for the times. I love Detroit rock'n'roll!
Anticipation is the best part. I wish I could plug in my mind and get the video its as real today as it was back then. I was invited to that party but couldn't hang around for it.
Use to go to the Aquinas High School, in Michigan, and watch The Dukes. They we're awsome then and always will be. Teddy put on a DAMN good show!!! Keep on rockin... Peace and Love~~Debbie~~
This is vintage Ted at his prime. A version of this song I have not previously heard. The released version is much better. Still being a loyal Nuge fan, I like this bit as well.
Well this was recorded on a magnavox cassette recorder with the batteries on their last leg and a tape that has stretched over time. But those were the years. Wright State University 1971 on the audio, Louisville Ky at a Theatre on Broadway 1973 for most of the Pics.
I was going to United Electrics Inst. at the time and working part time at Royal Dist. next door or two from the Theatre. Were you at the University of Louisville out door fest around that time? They cut Ted off because of going beyound the time limits for the fest. They had us surrounded by riot police and dogs. That was weird! Time removes details if it ain't recorded. I gets lost. RB.
They said he was quite a meatslayer back then! lol.

Funny how you can totally hear the Hendrix influence on young Ted in the feedback and divebombs.

I think Teds were better! Both had their distinct style.

Ted's sound is so clean! And his strings always sound amazingly old but makes it work anyway! From the gut, as it should be.

The theatre in Louisville would have been the McCauley Theatre between 3rd and 4th street, now named the W.L. Lyons Brown Theatre.
I may have been there. That time of my life is kind of fuzzy these days! LOL!
