Fuck. Canceling Pushing Daisies was a travesty, but ditching this show and bringing any number of crap TV shows to Fox is just plain dumb.
The problem is that network television is still tied to the antiquated Nielsen ratings system. It's so ridiculously outdated -- which is why CBS touts CSI as being the most watched show on television. ROFL According to what???
Good shows get cancelled because young people don't show up on the Nielsen system. You can't even show up on the Nielsen system

So apparently this pilot was VERY well-received at Comic-Con, and the only reasons FOX is passing on it is because according to them, "it's just like Fringe" (they must have two shows called Fringe, because the one I watch is nothing like L & K) and "it looks like a movie, so it should be a movie" (the pilots of LOST and Walking Dead looked movie-quality too, and those rocked in the ratings). FOX: now cancelling cool shows even before they come out for increasingly stupid reasons!
Maybe they are waiting until Joe Hill finish writing the comic series. (I'm just hopeful I guess) If anything, there has to be SOME network that will pick this up. Anyone...please...
There old folktales or stories from China that women who had babies out of wedlock were thrown down wells. So I would think this is probably a little appalling to some people. I believe women got thrown down wells for other reasons but I remembered this one the most. Just think of the movies that have come involving wells; there is more than one obvious one.
i love it when seth writes all the shows that didn't last on fox in family guy scripts...so there's a lot of "charity" going around it seems...this is a GREAT series with incredible potential, if someone picks it up they will have the next walking dead...
