  • Oh what a lovely way to burn....

  • Adoooro boa música! Thank you, Peggy Lee!!!!!!!!

  • Has anyone else felt the fever?!

  • Dynamite.

  • er, hello? freedom of opinion? I love this version, but if someone else doesn't that's okay, and it doesn't mean they have to be a Bieber fan... which there's nothing bad about being.

  • @cinammondream Freedom of opinion means he was free to make his posts. Then the others were free to make theirs. He took an unpopular position and got some blowback. That's just life. I do agree that the Bieber comment was uncalled for.

  • @John1948Ten glad we agree on something ;) thanks for the upload, the video is epic ;)

  • @cinammondream Y think that this the best version of fever. Thans from Spain

  • MAn i'm now almost 16 only a week xD but I don't like it this music isn't for this time it's so ice music and Peggy Lee is the best

  • One and only!!

  • merveilleux!!The knock!Elle l'a.

  • The only woman to do this song justice!

  • beautiful xx

  • This song and any other song is only enhanced by Miss Peggy Lee.

  • I covered this song today and posted a video of it. It's nothing compared to this, but I tried my best :) Could you check it out, it would mean a lot to me!

  • @josephina323 i watched it, thought it was actually quite good :)

  • I love the fact this song is sexy with out being over the top...and...yeah

  • I love this song! check out my version and "like" it :) xo

  • she sings this song so well... agree she is very sultry for her time. not as vulgar as today's artists, but it did come to that through artists like peggy lee. nonetheless, she's gold

  • @bimbafly OK but most people do like it Peggy's way.

  • @John1948Ten try listen the original

  • @bimbafly the definitive version is this one. Not another

  • @The170460 Do some research, Fever- Little Willie Jhon - 1956 . Peggy Lee added some miserable lyrics such as "Captain Smith and Pocahontas". Check this:

    youtube.com/watch?v=i93-hlwULUk

  • @bimbafly ok it's a cover but it's the best and definitive rendition of this song.

  • @bimbafly sorry guy i'm 54 too old for bieber.

  • @The170460 you lose.

  • @bimbafly feeling ???? the song is called fever the obvious thing to do would b sing it with more sexual feeling , ie beyonce and the rest of the people that sang it , peggy is simply singing the song like it is suposed to b sung

  • @bimbafly stupid guy. Another justin bieber fan

  • As stiff as she is she has more the a fever. Still a great song.

  • Got the fever? Clearly need more cowbell! ;-) (And I love this song...)

  • <3

  • The only thing I would change about this song is a better musical arrangement.

  • everything about this recording is great, but 2:47-2:57 sends shivers down my spine... too perfect!

  • the best ever xd

  • Torch singer. Julie London too, but she wasn't nearly as good.

  • 19 ppl died of a fever after they disliked this song.

  • i got the fever, when i hear that song. ♥

  • What a voice. *u*

  • She was absolutely brilliant, but a tiny bit vulgar too.... Or maybe I should just say ordinary. I don't know the right word.... But ah, it was the style back then so whatever...

  • @Artemisss1 Sorry, but CANNOT IMAGINE how you see ANY vulgarity what so ever in her performances. She was/is/always will be a GODDESS.

  • @BigHrdB Come on he said he wasn't sure of the word he was after. I would guess he meant earthy.

  • @BigHrdB I don't call anything here on earth divine, for I don't know if such a thing exists. You can exagerate. Just don't get me wrong, I love Peggy Lee, but I can't help but seeing that the way she dresses and acts is a bit... well, in Dutch we would say ordinary/vulgar but I'm not sure those are the right words in English.

But I think Peggy wouldn't be the same Peggy if she wasn't 'ordinary/vulgar', so It's not necessarily a bad thing. ;)

  • John Lennon once said that he could listen to Peggy Lee 24 hours a day.

  • They sure don't make women like this anymore

    so sad...

  • 9 people must not like having fevers....

  • My favorite version. She's got a simple, driving sexuality and singing style, and it absolutely works. I like JWL, the Neville Brothers, Ray Charles, and after that, everybody else tries awfully hard to do what Peggy Lee did so effortlessly.

  • My point remains the same she did not write a new song, she wrote additional lyrics to the song Fever written by Blackwell and Cooley. This song is made up of melody, chords,Lyrics, and rhythm. It seems you want to convince yourself that the song Fever was written by Peggy Lee. When someone writes a song it not just lyrics.

  • GO BABY GO

  • This Is my very favorite songs that Peggy sang!!! Thankyou John...Anita..:)

  • Wow, I guess there has been some pc discussion about Peggy Lee? In her own feminist way she refused being a 'big" torch song singer and went for her down-played style. That's her legacy. I love Ms. Lee.

  • Never was nor will there ever be another Peggy Lee .They give us today Lady KaKa.

  • What an excellent post! Thanks.

  • sexyest song

    19 people had yellow fever

  • Snappin' fingers ;-)

  • thanks for the history

  • best video of this song of hers. she was ONE sexy woman and a voice to match

  • *The One and Only Miss Lee: Cool, Class, Sassy, Sexy !

  • Great trailer man!! going to download this in downloadmusic .im

  • Such a fan

  • not good at all

  • Great video of ms. Peggy Lee- sure gave me fever just watching this great songbird.

  • Little Willie John was the first one to record it. Elvis taught me the song but now I like Peggy most

  • Amazing

  • Timeless!

  • I personally think that slower versions are much more better than this original sprint...this song has beautiful text and need to be feelingful...

  • WONDERFUL, UNIQUE PERFORMANCE AND STYLE OF PEGGY LEE.

REALLY OUTSTANDING FOR HER TIME AND CANNOT BE MATCHED

BY ANY OTHER SINGER IN HER ORIGINAL PERFORMANCE OF FEVER.

MAYBE 50 YEARS AHEAD OF HER TIME.

    SUE BLUES

  • Doesn´t matter how many times you hear it, come on it´s just great.

  • This is absolutely brilliant ... I wish there were more pieces like this :(

It's absolutely brilliant .. I'm in love with it

I wish more singers like Peggy Lee would come to life ..

I've known this beautiful song through a friend .. and I've been smitten by it ever since ...

Thanks so much for uploading such a beautiful song :)

  • bravo! love it

  • I really really always liked this song.

  • Peggy Lee has the perfect voice for this song.

  • This song will always be hot hot hot. Madonna should give it a whirl. Gotta love the bombshells; they are all timeless. Thank you Ms. Lee!

  • Such talent and she doesn't have to show off half-naked to show it.

  • Brought tears to my eyes - good sound, a wonderful expression of the times. Do young adults today relate to this today?

  • I am so pleased you found this video of Peggy Lee. At this time it was made I was 12 years younger than Peggy Lee. I bore a great resemblance to her at the time. When she was in New York City I did standin shots for her. I often would be stopped by her fans thinking I was she for an autograph. It is hard to explain to the younger generation who she was and her contributions to music artistry. NOW I CAN TELL THEM AS I HAVE THIS VIDEO NOW which I downloaded.. Thanks.

  • FABULOUS!

  • 11 people did a wrong klick- this song is hot hot hot....love it...

  • This song is how many years old? I have no clue..but its still damn hot and sexy ...fever...yeah I get a fever while listening it...There is no other "modern" song which is more sexy ...(my opinion)...

  • @57dogsbody Nobody could ever make Peggy Lee look pitiful.

  • @57dogsbody Really a matter of taste. LWJ did it deep R&B style, Peggy Lee did it in a smouldering pop style, two different styles and both are great IMO....

  • @57dogsbody "Fever" is a song written by Eddie Cooley and John Davenport and originally recorded by Little Willie John in 1956. It was released as a double-sided hit along with the top-ten R&B song "Letter from My Darling".

  • @57dogsbody she makes Madonna look pitiful

  • I've never really understood why Peggy's version of this song was so appreciated until I saw this video. I guess she really does live up to her name.

  • haha i love that little twist at 2:10

  • Peggy Lee was one of the most beautiful, talented singers. I wish that the music industry would deliver a talented, shaped, truthful woman. HA like it'll happen.

  • beatnick cool days. Before my time, but ,very very cool

  • reese witherspoon would portray her to a T. can't wait for the biopic

  • I love her!!! so classy and sexy.

  • Great song! So much better than the terrible attempts by Beyonce and Ms. Aguilara.

  • peggy is my little sister's name! lolage 101

  • 2:00 Oooo

  • Terrific, priceless footage. Thanks so much.

  • love this song....shes so sexy!

  • yessir. Her and that Elvis Presley fellar are both burnin' in hell for those gyrations.

  • Rrrrrraarrrrrrr! She gives us fever!

  • it's simple, it's just dam good!!!

  • I think the important thing to realize here is that when it came to the music of that time, Peggy Lee was offering the only true sex in music. Outside of the black jazz and blues music. This song was kind of a bridge, it was acceptable to those who (thank you) did not listen to Little Willie John, or even Huddie Ledbetter, of Victoria Spivey. Peggy Lee was a true pioneer in song.

  • @fubar50cat I'm not sure I 100% agree but it is a very interesting perspective that I had not considered before. Thanks.

  • @fubar50cat Pioneer? She was a water-down copy cat.

  • @fubar50cat

Thanks for your insight. I didn't know that either. I was a kid at the time, but remember that I always enjoyed her music, especially this song. Glad my hormones weren't raging then. This song may have sent me over the deep end!!!

  • It is clear why the Beatles, when they first came to America, had one singer they wanted to meet in person: Peggy Lee.....

  • She is tearing this up. This is a bad girl...........cool as hell.

  • @CrystalRhae oh yes. lol. ...and every man loves cool as hell.

  • Elvis Presley sings this song so sexy

  • super rola!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is so sexy lol

  • LOVE THIS!

    It's a classic :)

  • John1948TEn wrote above:"Some info I received from another member: "fever" was written by Little Willie John, a black r&b artist who died at a young age in prison. Peggy Lee/Her Record Label added a few lyrics and she released with great success." Well, John, you were given bad, wrong info. Willie did NOT write this song AT ALL, although he did have a hit version. Peggy wrote lots of add. lyrics, not a few -- at least 3 choruses (pocahontas, romeo, farenheit, chicks born - all that hers).

  • @John1948Ten Thanks, John -- just wanted to set the record straight. Lots of folks giving incorrect info on the net.

  • @Carambabambasamba This song was written by Eddie Cooley and Otis Blackwell aka (John Davenport )

Peggy"s version is beautiful and sensual.

  • @Omega1st Yes, they wrote the original lyrics. But Blackwell and Cooley didn't write any of the lyrics about Romeo and Juliet, Captain Smith and Pocahontas, Farenheit or Centigrades, nor the "till you sizzle" final line. Those appeared for the first time in the Peggy Lee version, and she was never officially credited for writing them. :)

  • @Carambabambasamba When a singer sings a song they can write additions to the song so as to interpret their style, but the song still belongs to the original writers by Copyright for Peggy Lee did not create a new song she just added some lyrics, so as to put her mark on an existing song.

  • @Omega1st I understand what you are saying. My point is that Peggy didn't just write a few words, or a line here & there. More than half of the lyrics that have become famous weren't written by the original songwriters. She also deleted about 1/4 of the original writers' material. Unwisely, Peggy & those with her just didn't think of copyrighting the new lyrics back then. In 1990, she wrote yet more lyrics for the song. That time, more aware of these matters, she did copyright them.

  • @Carambabambasamba My point remains the same she did not write a new song, she wrote additional lyrics to the song, Fever was written by Blackwell and Cooley. This song is made up of melody, chords,Lyrics, and rhythm. It seems you want to convince yourself that the song Fever was written by Peggy Lee. When someone writes a song it not just lyrics.

    Omega1st 1 second ago

  • @Omega1st I guess I didn't make my point clear, because you seem to think that I'm disputing what you said. I'm NOT. Let's give it a new try. YES, the song was written by B & C. NO, PL did not write the song. (& if you re-read my comment above, you'll see that I was the 1st to say that those are ADDITIONAL lyrics) Now, let me make my main point in a different, maybe clearer way: Blackwell & Cooley did NOT write a large portion of the lyrics sung by many of the singers who have covered Fever.

  • @Carambabambasamba So if the artists should take away their lyrics from the song Fever, would the song still exist as a hit? Yes, for it was the reason why Peggy Lee decided to cover it,for it is a beautiful song.

This is an excerpt statement from Peggy lee's biography.

Peggy Lee is most famous for her cover version of the Little Willie John hit "Fever",to which she added her own, uncopyrighted lyrics ("Romeo loved Juliet," "Captain Smith and Pocahontas")

  • @Carambabambasamba Who cares who wrote it NO ONE sings it like Miss Lee

  • DUBBED!

  • @folklorette No, the ORIGINAL cilp is NOT dubbed, BUT the uploader of this clip dubbed in a couple of parts (not the whole thing) that were not audible in the version of the clip that he used. He dubbed them from Peggy's original hit recording.

  • feveggvertastic

  • @yambasz eggtastic!

  • Have this on tape right before Perry Como

  • Amazing video! Thanks!

  • bon boulot !

  • Peggy Lee has always been sexy !!! As a woman myself I don't say often.

  • Gawd, i always thought Peggy Lee was black!

  • The DVD "Fever: the Music of Peggy Lee" contains an hilarious shampoo commercial which for some reason I can't find on YouTube.

  • The best version bar none. Miss you Peggy....

  • Brings me back to the sultry hot and humid summer ( in the Northeast ) of 1958

  • what a pretty voice. :)

  • me nd peggy got the fever

go head gulee get the fever

    -peggy lee

  • i thought that this was the sexiest song when i was 12 and at 50 is still think so and what a sexy woman, her voice has always turned me on.

  • Timeless

  • @HELENHUERTAS1 yea great love.

  • Stunning

  • Hey Peg, you (and the band) still got 'it' baby. :-))

  • This so song is soooo awesome. I heard Beyonce's version and it sucked. The original kicks ass.

  • Thank You very much

    Respect from Russia

  • Does anyone know of a version on Youtube that's the ORIGINAL RECORDING? All I can find are performances and covers :(

  • i love peggy lees songs there awesome and she looks better than singers now who go half naked to look good

  • No one can do sexy like Peggy!!!

  • Very classic avante garde for the time...and to this day....COOL! Love PL's style and presence!! Superior. Thank you for posting this bit of historic performance.

  • like that very much, its classic, and its groovy, im 25 old, but its owesome, thx for the Clip! Greez from Kosova!

  • i love this song XD!!!!!

  • Man, I get all torn up with lust watching this thing. She really sizzles! Schwinggg!

  • Love her phrasing at the end. 'Good singing' these days seems to have more to do with histrionics than that kind of subtletly.

  • This was definitely filmed when women were allowed to be curvy and look like women. Not like 12 year old boys.

  • @momscouter That form of woman is comming back in style. men are not longer shamed by their friends for liking a girl who's thick n' juicy. Look at alot of women in popular culture today, beyonce for example, not a extremely thin girl, lots of meat :D

  • @momscouter I think the curves are way sexier.

  • FEVER >3

    awesomeee love this song

    classyness :D

  • Too, too cool. She and Julie London, whooee! Makes a man

    glad to be a man!

  • This is my favourie version of this song. No one can deliver Fever like Peggy. That smooth voice and cool tempo is just so sexy. I reckon she made a few guys burn!

  • My God, did she have a figure!

  • lol... :)

  • tout simplement magnifique

  • aha ! lol ace i (users daughter) have a show that i have to sing this in! and im 12 ;) :L:L

  • haha. i love this song but heard it in an AD recently.

  • This particular track is timeless - thnk part of its appeal is that its simple in its apporach, basic percussion and Peggy's voice - none of your clever techi stuff - love it

  • Love this - its timeless and is just one of those tracks that keeps going and going - its so simple, none of your techi stuff, just basic percussion, and Peggy's voice - and yet so so so effective -

  • Love this - its simply timeless

  • For those that DONT Know original is by La Lupe Band a spanish band.

  • That is incorrect. La Lupe covered this song years after it was originally popularized by Little Willie John and by Peggy Lee.

  • I recently sang this at a little dive. This song is so much fun to sing , and drives a crowd crazy , exp. men. lol I have had to make several trips to New Orleans dropping my son off at work (offshore) and stopping back by for some open mics. I never drink a drop, and most of the time I have my daughter. we just keep it our little secret but have a blast. Thanks for posting this, we have been dancing all afternoon.

  • Idk classic really, I think that all the other people that try 2 copy and make it better kinda fail.

  • love love love love!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great song, but the snaps in the video are off beat LMAO!!!

  • nice dancing haha :D

  • I would love to hear Stephanie DeBrujin cover this.

  • Great song! Unique combination of rhythm, music, text!

  • Thankyou, this song works in every century.. thanx for the old material
