'Geithner is a classic weasel. Amazing how he can get away with tax crimes and become treasury guy. He is not hire-able. He wouldn't pass a background check in corporate America. 'Own up to it you clown -- you are a tax cheat!
Timothy Geithner is a prime example of the "Jewish Problem" in the United States. The Jews get in a countries banking system, screw the system up, and wonder why the world hates them. Lets get rid of the American Jewish Problem. Can't blame Geithner for doing what he does, he's a JEW.
And for all the bitching about Geithner's stupid non-taxpaying mistakes, I wonder when we'll actually hear Republicans get SERIOUS about tax avoidance and evasion and go after the BIG evaders, like corporate America or the wealthiest Americans? They have TONS of offshore accounts in places like the Cayman Islands and Swiss bank accounts galore. They shelter their money pretty heavily and use all the loopholes they can find. Yet few conservatives are willing to close them.
I find it funny (and perhaps a bit hypocritical) that the anti-tax Republicans and conservatives who ALWAYS complain and think taxes are NEVER low enough (when will they be??) STILL at the same time bitch when someone DOESN'T pay taxes, which they should LOVE. Someone wanting to keep 100% of their own money? You guys want us to keep more our money ALL THE TIME, don't you? Your talk show hosts, politicians, etc. always talk about that.
We lose about, if I recall correctly, 2-300 Billion in potential tax revenue due to tax avoidance and evasion by the rich alone! Not to mention all the phony "tax credits" designed to stimulate certain economic activities like donating to charity or buying new homes that make the gov't lose out and just further raise the deficit.
Of course we do need to cut spending and balance the budget soon, but government also needs a fair amount of revenue to fund itself.
@whoo689 / I like the first part of your argument. Where did you get the statistic? Or maybe just tell me where to start looking for my own research purposes.
We need to start thinking about all of this in a bigger picture. I think people have been convinced that running the country requires the smartest people & an alphabet after their name. We keep hiring Lawyers & Academics. I question this wisdom. I think running a country like the US is actually much simpler. I think these "smart" people over-engineer everything. I think we need some regular people with common sense & honesty. This really is not rocket science. Enough already with the eggheads.
If you are old enough, you will remember that "misguided youth" was kind of a stock character on these old shows. It would be a different young guy sent over from a casting agency with a Geithneresque pompadour and a Geithneresque confused expression on his face.
He would be portrayed as a decent sort, but weak, and headed down the wrong path. He would require the firm hand of Webb or "The Fugitive" to show him The Way.
He looks just like most of the arrogant spoiled brats from the Obama Administration. They all have those smirks on their faces and the attitude that the rest of us are morons and they are so much more morally & intellectually superior to everyone else.
Jack Webb was about 47 or 48 when this was made. Geithner is about the same age now. Yet, Joe Friday looks like a mature, responsible adult of authority in contrast to Timmy who looks like a weasel teenager caught doing something very bad and trying to lie his way out of it. This is funny and very true.
@scola91660 Interesting & intriguing idea. As a former law enforcement officer, I often wondered what if EVERYONE went into civil disobedience and quit paying taxes? What would happen? Who puts about 95% of the country behind bars and who pays those guys to arrest & incarcerate them?
If Turbo Tax Tim Geithner had a Jack Webb to set him straight back when he was a punk kid, then he would not be the tax cheat and scum bag he is today. Geithner was born rich and above the law, so he thinks he can do what he wants and is still above the law. Geithner is like Barrack Hussein and all his arrogant lefty lackeys who think they are so much smarter and better than all of us that they can do or say what ever they want. All Jack Webb says is common sense and it works in any era.
@skepticismjoe Sorry but there's two sets of rules in America. One for the wealthy elite class and one for the rest of us. Supposedly we're all bound by the rule of law with the Constitution as it's foundation but maybe that's just crazy talk.
He now heads the IRS. No Republicans No Democrats No Incumbents. It's our own fault we are in the position we are in today. It is time to take America back.
this twirp must have something on somebody. to hire such a geek and a corrupt one is right in line with this administrations values, lack of i mean. his hands are larger than his whole body, scarey
Tim Geithner is a criminal of the highest order. He's stealing trillions of American dollars from the people of this country and putting it into the coffers of International Corporations and other Central Banks under the cover of the Obama Administration just as they did under the Bush Administration. WAKE UP AMERICA!
Damn great! Timmy the tax cheat now runs the U.S. Treasury responsible for billions...my God, who 10 yrs ago would ever have thought that a possibility. A little boy who SAYS himself that he cannot accurately fill out his own taxes now supervises a budget in the billions. And that is the good scenario, he's just stupid. The bad scenario, he is simply a criminal.
Geithner shouldnt be the treasury secretary. If any regular citizen had made the same mistakes they would have been fined tons of money, or been thrown in jail, or both
