Hi guys. My friend made an MC Trouble page on Facebook yesterday - so please like it and ask all your friends to as well. Thanks so much - by the way it's the one with only 1 like lol!! Thanks
Sadly, she died an untimely death. She was a great rapper who unfortunately will be remembered as a "one hit wonder". The industry during this time, were only interested in promoting Salt & Pepa as the undisputed females of "old school rap".
Did I give you the impression that I was criticizing Salt -n-Pepa? I always enjoyed their music, and am still a fan. They remain, to this very day, the most successful female rap group, ever. I was merely pointing out, that during that era, hip-hop had not become commercialized yet, and female rappers, such as MC Trouble, at that time, were not being groomed in the same manner as Salt-nPepa.The industry wasn't as receptive to female rappers, until it went mainstream.
I admire her and miss her soo much, its a sad lost for the hip hop world, she had a lot to offer, she was the Beyonce of hip hop. She could dance, sing and Rap, and who knows if she could have lived a little longer she probably could act.
This was and still is the shit! I was in the 8th grade when this came out...:-/...yeah I know, I just told my age, lol! Her sister in the black and white dancing by herself, had mad dance moves! R.I.P Trouble
I wanted that hair style so badd when I 1st saw this video & now if I get it,it'll look like I did it bcuz Rihana did. **rolls eyes** Anyway R.I.P GURL!
I came here because I wondered who everyone was talking about, and halfway through this it's become very god damn clear why they're talking about her. This is truly awesome, RIP
i heard she caught a bullet ment for ice t that was what ppl ws sayin at the time neways i never doubted till now R.I.P. trouble and thanks for the tunes
I was sad back then when she died because she was the first female rapper I really liked...and I loved the Good Girls!!! This was my jam!!!! Jukebox!!!!!!!!!
i know she was out alot then...and she always had problems breathing, i'm not sure what exactly she died of....at that time she was on the west coast...she was on the brink of success....she was soooo cool!!!
i used to work with her at a sporting goods store in west la...that's when she told me she was "mc trouble" she was working while getting her career in order...i was older than her, but she was sooo cool...RIP Trouble!!!
Oh. Nevermind. I still really like her and so many things are happening today in my city and all i can do is write about it much respect mc .. no offense but a whole lot of black on black crime goin on round here and its over things you can live without..then if some gets killed their people will go after the shooters..which makes it worse. Like blacks wanted to be so free i wonder is this why..& i have lost so many due to health problems or a bullet..r.i.p.
Im only 13..i saw this video and has been listenin to this song every since like last week..they played it and i caught it twice..people like her really inspire me to go with a rapping career..can someone tell me how she passed/ what caused her death please and thanks.
wow i remember this video so sad how she died makes u look at life as a blessing to wake up ever day. I loved this video when i first saw it i kept hitting replay just looking at her dancing how very talented she was. RIP MC TROUBLE.
all that dancin was inspired by mc hammer they had to answer his rising popularityback in those days ahh the 90s i remember them so well not only rip mc trouble but rip female rappers they are non existant all they have to show today is nikki manag too bad rip female rappers
Never heard of her until a few minutes ago watching this video on VH1 soul. I was wondering why I had never heard of her....but I guess I know why now. That's so sad! RIP MC TROUBLE!
u still get vh1 soul what cable company you got i got comcast and them muthafuckas took vh1 soul off i had it for awhile but now all there is is 475 channel mtv jamz and they show old school videos once inawhile but not enough mostly that drake bullshit lil wayne all that other garbage.
@Illkiddbluez I got RCN cable. I don't do Comcast. They charge way too much and they got some BS channels. See if you have them in your area...theyre cheaper too!
Trouble died in her sleep on June 4, 1991 (making her 20 years old) while at the home of a friend in Los Angeles, CA shortly after suffering an epileptic seizure which resulted in heart failure. The posthumous single "Big Ole Jazz" was released in 1992 and appeared on the House Party 2 soundtrack and gave Trouble a second & final hit on the Billboard Rap Charts.
i used to hang posters of MC rouble on my wall, and when she passed man it hit me becasue i saw so much potential in her. yes she would have killed the 90s hands down
Damn...this video is making me depressed. This was when hip-hop, really music in general had substance. All we have now is watered down commercial ass garbage.
This is one of my fav jams!! I have been looking for this for years!!! MC TROUBLE RIP...bring back sum great memories..I remember my dad telling me that what I listen to wasn't music, NOW I'm telling my daughters the same..this garbage hip hop rap is not music...THIS is music!!! thank you MC TROUBLE!!!!
trouble was tight and stopped in the middle of her career. she wasa damn good dancer and rapper. i guess we need to really appreciate our angels we have on earth. she wa and still missed.
Damn! This is good stuff. I used to think Trouble was like a female Heavy D. It was just that they had a similiar style. I miss real dancing in videos. It used to be all about talent. Whatever happened to talent being a standard in music?
That's a great observation. She really was like a female Heavy D. I can certainly see that. Some of the best material to come into existence in Hip Hop!
you're exactly right kevhar...mc trouble was the female counterpart to the hevster...lyrically gifted and her album, "Gotta Get A Grip", major banger..
Oh! God Mc Trouble, I can't believe your gone, you had more than enough talent, You have a bigger spot in heaven, rapping for the Lord, It seems like all the good people get taken away, and the bad people stay, it's too much, But the point is, You have tons of fans who remember you, and your musical contributions, May the Lord bless you, and your family, from one of your fans on earth. RockythePoet
I still love and miss this girl like crazy. Only God knows how big she would have been, but He called her home to do His work. Rest in Peace La Tasha Sheron Rogers AKA Mc Trouble. We still got mad love for you down here.
okay. I was born close 2 2000 and when i read a biography about her, wanted 2 lissen 2 ANY of her songs or watch ANY of her videos. so then I searched mc trouble and then I found this! i said 2 mahself "I like it!!!" RIP Trouble!
Excuse you, that girl you called a heffa asshole is my sister, you're either some jealous bitch hating on her, or some brotha who couldn't get no play from her, one or the other, I'm sure. "Heffa"
Are you fucking kidding me? You sound retarded talking shit to me via youtube. You better be glad I didn't say dirty ass bitch, I was being nice by saying heffa. Get a fuckin grip and learn to pick your battles cause I'm certainly not one to battle with another because of a youtube comment. Puh-lease! PLUS, you fucking dumb ass, you have no idea which one I was speaking about. Bitch find something else to do with your time.
mc trouble was destined to be the baddest female rapper out there, i ms her and her skills, my mom loved her, i am makin 36 n in 91 i was 17, i remember her, and yea this song do go hard, her and mc smooth was the fuckin shit, she was 20 when she passed if i'm not mistaken, n e way i love our mc from back in the day these chicks now i tell ya.
this was a great example of female talent of the 90's. mixing R&B and rap with truly talented ladies. everything flowed perfectly. trouble rapped her ass off as the good girls danced wit her & held down the vocals! this was video on fire.
just the way I like it that's the only way I do the majority of my stuff I like some pure R & B and pure rap every now and then too. now I'm just trying to find the kinda hardware that was used to do this kinda sound.
man, what can i say. first peace and thank you for posting this video. secondly, dang do i miss these flavorful videos where they really had it going on with the song and dance and good lyrics instead of a bunch of goof balls standing around trying to look sexy. i mean even the good girls who were there to sing the hook were breaking it down with the dances.
Yeah, plus Good Girls and other old school 80s/early 90s dances are way better than those goof balls on "MTVs Americas Best Dance Crews" thats on air now. We need Old school back.
MC Trouble was the first female two-way performer that I can remember who who could sing and rap that I could remember. This woman was unbelievable. RIP
Tasha, I can still remember the last time we talked. I still owe you a trip to disneyland. Life is good, but I still miss you so much. The last time we talked on the phone I told you I would be home from school in a few weeks. Never did I think you would be gone. I think about mom all the time and need to go see her, but know I know you are smiling down on me. God bless and pray for me, for I will always pray for you.
I remember MC Trouble and it was heartbreaking when she died so soon after showing what a talent she was, we were the same age when she died. RIP BABY!
However less then a year after the album was released, MC Trouble, who was predicted by many to have a promising career ahead of her, died of a seizure.
Mc Trouble woulda been the "QUEEN" of West Coast had she not passed so early. Could somebody PLEASE post the song or video "Roller Girl". That was her biggest hit in L.A. bacc in the day & I cant find it ANYWHERE!! U r still missed Trouble...RIP.
Death: MC Trouble died of an epileptic seizure in 1991, on her 19th birthday.
MC Trouble was the first female emcee ever signed to Motown Records. In 1990 she made her rounds on BET and YO! MTV Raps with (I Wanna) Wanna Make You Mine. The track was hot, and unfortunately she died before really making a name for herself. RIP
@jameskoolkat Every time I watch this video I get happy and sad. Happy because it's a great video but sad because she's gone.I like how rappers of the past did on the mic. There aren't too many rappers nowadays that do that.Rapping used to be intelligent-they actually had something fun and real to say! I miss it!I miss the girl and guy groups of the past too!!

this was a great example of female talent of the 90's. mixing R&B and rap with truly talented ladies. everything flowed perfectly. trouble rapped her ass off as the good girls danced wit her & held down the vocals! this was video on fire.

just the way I like it that's the only way I do the majority of my stuff I like some pure R & B and pure rap every now and then too. now I'm just trying to find the kinda hardware that was used to do this kinda sound.
I refuse to make crap

man, what can i say. first peace and thank you for posting this video. secondly, dang do i miss these flavorful videos where they really had it going on with the song and dance and good lyrics instead of a bunch of goof balls standing around trying to look sexy. i mean even the good girls who were there to sing the hook were breaking it down with the dances.
weveseenit 2 years ago 2
Yeah, plus Good Girls and other old school 80s/early 90s dances are way better than those goof balls on "MTVs Americas Best Dance Crews" thats on air now. We need Old school back.
