I'm on today's sailing also with some of my family, Lido deck 214. What a coincidence! We're just doing the repositioning part of the cruise, which was $69 per person for the overnight run from Vancouver to Seattle. It will be short but sweet. We're taking the Amtrak Cascades train from Seattle to Vancouver this morning to meet the ship, which is almost a cruise in itself.

I went on the Golden Princess Weekend after Thanksgiving in 2007. Beautiful Ship. This was my husbands first cruise and he loved it.

I used Sony Vegas Movie Studio 7. If you buy it, be sure to get the new version which just came out, which is version 9. The platinum edition is only $89.

I went on this trip last summer with my sister and grandparents. At first I was hesitant about going to Alaska. I really wasn't sure if it'd be any fun but since I am a ship enthusiast I was stoked about going! I remember feeling slightly disappointed when I first saw the ship but the cabins were comfortable, the crew helpful and the general decor was pleasing. The people? Couldn't have had a more interesting lot! And Alaska? Amazing! I so want to go again!

Did the trip in 2001 Aug/sept, loved it mendon hall glacier heli, liersville never had snow on the skagway yukon passage froze going up the RR stayed out thewhole RR ride. Bring back memories, as Ionly had an olypus for pic/vid silence. I also have aJVC 395U series love the shot but seemed Youtube degraded big time.

That's a nice cruise, but not as nice as the cruise tours to/from Whitier. The McKinley Explorer was a great train trip.

It was nice, but not as much participation as on our Caribbean Cruise. We had a balcony, so we weren't on deck as much as our last cruise.

It wasn't too bad, about $800 per person after taxes. The balcony was a free upgrade. We live in Seattle, so there was no cost for airfare or hotels.

That's a long train for such a remote area. How many passengers were on board?

Not sure, but I'd guess about 700 given the 14 coaches with about 50 passengers each. The population is only 1390 people, so it's almost entirely a tourist operation.
