Love the song to bits. First heard it when I attended boarding school and my roommate played it to me.
One tiny quibble, if you paint over the gas-tap, then it's the painter you want returning with some turpentine (I just had some bad experience with dried ink/paint yesterday myself at the office), rather than the gasman. Maybe the gasman has turpentine too!
This will always remind me of my childhood living in Broxburn Drive South Okendon Essex in the 60s & listening to this and other tracks from my Mum's "Drop Of A Hat" L.P. It is such a long time ago now, but it is still fresh in the memories how does music do that? Lovely to hear this again after all these years. Thanks MDaisyC for posting and transporting me back in time.
Y asbo Finn? Because it is leeching off us? My country is incredible stupid too. I am not vain but if I do not know my own life - I am not going to be handed someone elses version. I do not perform willingly either.

This is a wonderfully put-together homage to them. Check out the other highlights of them on this site. I found it a delight to see them "alive", live, in other clips.
Flanders and Swann were the greatest pre-televisual comics. I was brought up with them on vinyl through my mother. My complaint was merely to highlight the lack of quality control made by the majority of writers/contributors to sites like these, not just this one. No offence intended, merely the hope that those responsible might take note.
floatingdebris, might I suggest you are being a tad too fussy. Tis true a word was spelt wrongly but does that necessarily 'ruin' the 'excellent homage'? Lose not your sense of humour in pursuit of defence of unecessary exactitude.
Just a shame, once again in these days of adding videos here there and everywhere, that the quality has plummeted. What day is Saturaday? An excellent homage ruined by laziness? Ineptness? Spell check, spell check, spell check.
I have worked in the building industry for thirty years now and this song sums up the compexity of planning and carrying out a project very well. Seaking as an electrician I would get someone to look at your fuse box, I think it has seen better days. Great video, well done.
if you need any flanders and swann songs e-mailed to ya i have like all of them that i can think of rofl (about 67 of em). Id love to send em for more of your great projects
Class Man, i love this vid, and the guy on the red mobile phone is the maddest looking bastard of them all, he's prolly from some shitty town called b'tree or something
its Chazz < please note the ZZ, i mean my real name is bob... yeah that will cover me, and it was sheer luck i guessed that, looked like a B'tree boy!
So... How many pounds did they spend...?

To rjr1967, "ineptitude" is
The quality of being inept; ineptness
[Check it out at the free dictionary]
So, we're both right.

This song is brilliant, and the photos help well to illustrate the lyrics. Thanks!
