  • Hey you're beautiful as you are!

  • @LorieTaylor Yep. Looking back on my experience that ive been through. There were some rough priods in there where I was unsatisfied with the results from other hair restoration clinics. However, Im perfectly at peace with the whole process and very glad that I went forward with it and achieved the results that I have in the site

HairLoss101. net (w/0 space), I would do it all over again

  • I freaking love your attitude about this! I look up to you!

  • i going through the same thing unfortunately with tremendous hair loss, although i dont think its Telogen Effluvium, i think its most likely Diffuse hair loss, but its quite frustrating! i hope yur hair journey went well since this video is pretty old!

and by the way has anyone ever told you you look like angelina jolie

  • Best wishes to you, hope all works out well in the end :) x

  • I am thinking about having surgery , since my last baby I lost about 50 or 60% of my hair due to some kind of autoimune disorder, along with thyroid, fibromialgya and lupus among others things. I am even more concern about diabetes and heart due to family history. I feel that this is my choice to be healthier... I have heard about the hairloss with the surgery .. have you experience any hairloss, if so, did the hair regrow? and how? I am very worried about it. I'll appreciate any info. thanks!

  • you have a great personality!

  • Hey kid, the folklore says aloe vera helps tremendously because it is an anti irritant, which reduces "scalp stress". The other bit of folklore, is that aloe vera massaged into the scalp is a soothing stressreliever because of its cooling action.

Good bad or indifferent, a simple cheap jell can do wonders if you work it right.

    Good luck.

  • I like you!!! Good luck

  • How long does it take the hair to grow back after telogen effluvium?

  • your video made me stop crying about my hair.. thanks so much

  • very informative vid, and thanks for your positivity c: I know how frustrating it is dealing with people who just assume you're losing your hair due to nutritional issues. I'm glad I'm finally in a point in my life where I can accept my condition..

All the best, I hope that everything works out for you c:

  • Try Biotin suppliment.

  • Btw, you have a cute face and you look fantastic! Keep up the good work. Is it just me cause you seem to resemble Angelina Jolie. Just wondering if anybody has told you that before.

  • Oh thank god! I have been experiencing the same thing. I lost about 70 lbs in 8 months from a serious diet change and 7 days per week of cardio and I lost a ton of hair. Now that I am at a normal weight I have cut out the cardio and limited it to 2 days per week. I am seeing my hair grow back now but this has been scaring me for some time. I am glad you made this video, it makes me feel a lot better. I'm a guy btw.

  • castor oil is much better than rogaine

  • honestly- i just started pre op diet and my hair is falling out. very scary- thanks for sharing

  • Great video , she's so sweet and good looking , your hair doesn't look too bad , very confident woman . = )

  • $dermatologist$ lie so much. they told me when i formed a dent in my scalp that it was alopecia. I'm glad that I cover all areas and do not stop with one doc. I went to an allergist who informed me that i had a calcium and vitamin d deficiency. Not once have I lost any hair....thank you dermatologist who wanted me to use men's rogaine. smh

find out if you have another underlying issue.Surgery, crash diets, stress, poor nutrition and illnesses can cause hair loss. rogaine is so not the move.

  • who cares about the hair , you are hot !

  • baby powder .. pour little at a time in your hands then put thru your hair.. it makes it look fuller and gets rid of some of the oils..

  • Thank you so much for your video. I think i may have this TE. My hair is shedding every time i run my fingers through my scalp and when i take a shower. The hair has white ball shaped at the end which i think is the root hair (?) I have had a jaw surgery about 4 months ago. I think this may have been the cause of this. Plus i have been using Nizoral Shampoo for few years now which made it worse i believe. I have been so depressed that it has affected my work and at home with my family.

  • @flipboyrn I have just read that you had jaw surgery 4 months ago & wondered if you were given antibiotics to aid your recovery? It took months of research for me to realise that my dramatic hair loss was caused by very high dose antibiotics affecting my gut, which meant I did not absorb nutrients sufficiently to maintain my hair. After all, hair is not essential, therefore the body will divert nutrients to more important areas. Go to my Youtube channel whatsupwithmyhair for more information.

  • I can help you, check out my video...click on my link on youtube....its

Hair loss and Baldness treatment, banjodeano style

  • happening to me from my birth control and it pisses me off! never use nuva ring its the devil and yes i did get tested for thyroid and that wasnt it :( :(

  • autoimmune hair loss

  • you have an over active throid girl dont listen to that dermatologist you lose weight and go bald with a hyperactive thyroid mine ahs been like that for 3 years as soon as you take the pills your hair stops falling out

  • purchase the book HAIR LOSS & REPLACEMENT FOR DUMMIES, hair transplants look fake , don' be fooled, the hair industry prey's on newies.

  • is that the side effect you get when you undergo a bypass surgery..you loss your hair?

  • You my dear are friggen ADORABLE and totally awesome. <3

  • Also wanted to add about the noixin your hair will feel extra clean and it tingles so you think wow this stuff is great.... Your hair will become more greasy in time from this product it strips all your natural oils that will help with hair growth so your scalp will produce more oils to make up for it and that is not nourishing the scalp. I understand your body is out of sync try to eat as oraganic stay away from processed foods theres no nutrients in them!

  • Hey, I'm currently detoxing myself from nioxin! I have been using it for the past 6 years and it is highly toxic.... and I have lost hair from this product!! Please look for something organic and safe and try some organic oil treatments for your scalp....stay away from the rogaine as well,Yes your diet is crucial for hair growth.....Do not put any harsh chemicals on your head, no hair dye or products! Good luck on your journey!

  • TRY hair essentials DHT blocker with natural supplements that will grow hair....lots of good reviews on it....much better than rogaine or any of that other stuff....Good luck to you...hang in there and don't let jerks get you down!!

  • Has anyone ever told you that it's common to lose hair after surgery? I had kidney stones removed and lost hair for up to a year afterwards. It's finally filling back in.

  • Hi! I'm just now getting over my TE. My specialist said not to use Rogain. The reason being that it's a treatment that you are supposed to keep using for live, or else the hair that comes in with the Rogain will fall once treatment stops. I used Nioxin #2 and I take 5,000mcg's of Biotin and a daily multi-vatamin. Finally I am seeing some re-growth, it's very relieving to see tiny little hairs all over my head. Anyway, If anyone has a question shoot me a message! Good luck!

  • Also, I really wish you the best! I know it will get well soon! :) Stay beautiful and positive!

  • You seem like a really nice person. And cute too.....

  • will u plz tell me f it works? 'cause i have the very exact same problem.. i'm 22 & i'm almost bald n the front & i've very thin hair :(.. i'm despersate

  • you seemed nicer when you were fat. how come ladies that are getting a "new" body get that bitchy attitude with the package?

  • I have very thin hair with scalp showing and I started to fill it in with brown eye shadow...sounds crazy but it works well you should give it a try when you feel up to it. use a matte shadow. Joan rivers sells a product especially for it also. the powder shadow absorbs oil too so it helps with that as well. give it a try...you will probably like it.

  • Hi, you look really great as a woman.... I am transsexual and losing my hair and as my hair is getting thinner, I look more and more male,,,, SUCKS!... in your case, you'll still look great. hugs

  • Now u r moving almost through all vid! When u were big u were more still.

  • good luck and i hope your hair grows back

  • you have hypothyroid

  • wow honey, I applaud you and your strength for allowing other women the ability to step into your life and view what they may be afraid to share. You are an amazing young lady and I wish you nothing but the best in life and with all that you endeavor to achieve. Ask your dermatologist what he/she thinks of you adding Saw Palmento to your diet may do to help with the hair loss as well. If they think it is a good idea, will you share that with us please?

  • wow you are sooo weird baldy that is nasty ps i am soory for you

  • i suffered from hair loss a couple of years ago and it caused ALOT OF DEPRESSION.....so i feel for people with hair loss, i went to the belgravia centre in london, (i dnt work for them or anything), but i spent 900pounds for 6months treatment and my hair grew fuller than ever, it was special lotion treatment that u use twice a day and other things, must check them out

  • You look great. I have one question can we see the scars now? If you do have any, and if you don't, what did you do to remove them.

  • You look amazing !!!- I had my bypass on 6th jan 2010 in Aberdeen ,Scotland - I am very worried about hairloss - Thank you for all the info xxx

  • Great video... dealing with a concern I vocalized to my surgeon. My hair is down to my butt so I was a bit worried. Bottom line... I may have to cut it a bit, but it WILL grow back. And in the mean time... I'm healthier! Thanks for the info sista'.

  • Wow, you look stunning, so much different after the WLS. I saw your videos and you inspired me to do something for my own future. Am i gonna be me all the time like what my life right now or could i do something for my own life better than now? My weight is 93 Kg, and i'm 158 cm tall. I live in Germany, and i don't know if my insurance will approved my wish to the gastric operation/ not. I am glad i found your vids on here, thank you Amelia.

    Tchüss!

  • Thank you again! now I am not scared a bit and actually hopeful about my life after surgery! I am so glad I found your channel, its good to hear from some one who has been there ahead of me and can give me advice! bless your sweet heart! thanks again, Melissa

  • lol youre awesome.. you have a great personality

  • quite sure shes saying she DOESN'T have FPB

  • Thanks for making this video...I had my surgery 3 months ago and I am starting to notice excessing "shedding" (sucks)...my surgeon told me to use Biotin, which I have, but now I'm starting to think about getting Rogaine. Thanks again!

  • hi guys.

has anyone read 'Regrowing Hair Naturally: Effective Remedies and Natural Treatments for Men and Women with Alopecia, ... Telogen Effluvium and Other Hair Loss ... Effluvium and Other Hair Loss Problems' by Vera Peiffer?

there's an interview with this lady on youtube.

was just wondering what you guys thought of this :)

    thank you

  • hahaha! you're so funny =P i like this vid...it makes me feel better about my thinning hair, which started after i was taking anxiety meds for a while..and its continued to stay thin for years...now i have to go on birth control and im freaking out that my hair will thin more!!! =(

  • she's seen a dermotologist...shes not looking from advice, you jerks. She's INFORMING you people..

  • i have it and i hate it, all im doing is taking 5 mg biotin, iron, vitamin d & a multivitamin

hahaha i know how that feels, HAVING to shower every day or else the grease makes it worse. so annoying.

  • @omgheartattack yep, having to shampoo hair everyday is really annoying.

  • I had my GBS almost 5 yrs ago and my hair thinned too, but then it came back normal again! I have had 5 major surgeries in the past 5 yrs and thankfully, I 'm not bald!

  • Im losing hair When I comb.

But I heard dr.mircles treatment work

    Im 12?

    Any ideas wat to use?

  • my friend had the same hair loss as you, thinning all over but no bald patches, it started 7 years ago. She had a boob job 7 years ago, moved to a very hot country, docs did tests & found nothing wrong

she had hair extensions for past 2 years as thinning was at its worst, cut to her usual shoulders length. Last summer (2008) baby fluffy hair started regrowing, she took out hair extensions & this summer (09) her hair is COMPLETELY back to normal, thick, curly

It will happen, just takes time

  • You look great by the way! A very pretty lady!

  • i'm so scared

i'm 13 and whenever i take a shower i see huge CLUMPS of hair fall out i'm so scared anyone have any ideas?

  • get plenty of sleep at least 7-8 hours and take your vitamins..

  • i know its scary huh? its like your going bald... ummm well if your malnourished that may be a cause or if you reacantly dyed ur hair but it will grow back or at least thats what ive been getting told.

  • See a dermatologist.

  • You've been through so much! I admire your courage, not only in dealing with post-surgical stress, but also in posting videos for everyone to watch and comment on. I'm sure many, included me, have learned from your experiences. You look great!

  • you look super stunning

    (:

  • 3 or 4 months after surgery your hair can shed and fall out - how long before it comes back in? how long does this hair shedding/loss happen?

  • ...I know someone who has had the GP procedure, and she is also suffering from premature hairloss---your body isn't absorbing the nutrients and proteins and processing it anymore....this has alot to do with it. (When I do start CR de-tox diest, I notice a difference myself---so beware, lack of nutrients---could cause hair loss ...)

I admire your goals....but don't forget to project your beauty that's on the INSIDE too...? Lots of young women are watching you...

  • how old are u?

  • 'Rogaine for women. Make sure you get it for women, if you're a woman. You know who you are, if your a woman; just you know; check.' Absolutely hilarious!

  • Loved the video. You did a good job. I am going to look through your other videos to see if you updated. I just had a hair transplant done a month ago and am posting progress if you want to view mine :)

  • Thank you so, so much for posting this. Over the last two years I've gone from 280 lbs. to 160 lbs. from diet and moving to Chicago, thereby walking everywhere. I went through this months ago (now all better from what I can tell, still a little on the thin side for my taste) and was wondering what it was all about! I watched your tummy tuck video, too. Going to get mine done June 25. I've been terrified, but now most of my fears have been calmed thanks to you. Keep posting!

  • My hair loss after surgery Im NOT looking forward to. I will look into the rogain deal....LOL... just for the men though.

  • Try lasers........overmachogrande dot com.

  • I love how positive you are! you're really a great inspiration.

  • you are beautiful

  • ur pretty hot by the way hehe

  • if you are considering spending money on a hair loss/growth product, please review your options. You can do so at GrowNewHair (dot) info.

  • I've got that too, Chronic telogen effluvium, caused by stress though, don't worry, It'll come back 100% garantee'd

  • Amazing! A new way to renew hair growth! look here: hair.xfollow.me (Copy to your browsers address bar)

  • Its amazing how losing weight changes your confidence I can just see how much happier you are!!!! Go Girl!!!

  • You are so brave, such an inspiration! Eat lots of ground flax seed, too (I sprinkle it on yogurt)..the Omega-3's are great for initiating skin repair and hair growth!

  • i love you, you are so inspirational and God Bless you in everyway:)

  • My hair is falling out at a scary rate too!!!!

It is good to hear that it returns...........

    Luv Ya Amelia xxxx

  • It's pretty neat to see how your self-esteem boosted after your surgery. Even with the hair loss, you're staying positive. Cool video diaries! :D

  • found a vitamin specifically formulated for building strong healthy hair. The vitamin I take for healthy hair and nails is Silica Complex by Puritans PrideÒ. It contains calcium, magnesium, zinc, boron, betaine and horsetail extract. Consumption of this supplement almost immediately retarded my hair loss and renewed my dull lifeless hair.

  • Hopefully this will help:I found a vitamin specifically formulated for building strong healthy hair.

  • haha that sounded funny that you said "he eats lots of beans too" lol And I do not mean that in a bad way i just thought it was funny cuz im Mexican and reminded me of my grandpa lol That is a good thought tho! I had never thought about that before.....My hair falls out alot but I am not bald at all I dont understand how so much falls out but I still have a full set of hair, but I sure will try the cold shower thing...

  • and i have never had a operation but i had a lot of stress in a period for like 4 years but hmm it should grow out but u look great girl

  • i wish i had a reason to why my hair is now growing out on the scalp but the doctors dont know why im normal healthy vitamin is normal and nothing is wrong i hate it but cant do anything abt it:(

  • Wow this has nothing to do with your hair loss but from your first video I can't believe that it was actually you. You look like a completely different person. You look very pretty right now. And don't worry you can still get some of your hair back or you can use a good hair concealer like Toppik (that stuff kicks ass)

  • the reason that she is losing her hair is because your body goes into shock after you have the surgery since it is not getting the same amount of vitamins my sister is 18 and she had the gastric bypass in june and after 8 months her hair is growing back my mom was worried too but your body just needs to adjust again

  • your hair loss stops at 8 months and then it all grows back

  • im a teen and im loosing a lot of hair lately

i am scared. everytime i get out of the shower it seems to be falling out lots and lots of strands. im soooo scared but this has been happening for a 9 months. are u sure my hair will grow back ???

    pls pls pls tell me

oh and one thing should i go to the dermataligist for this cuz my mom is telling me i shouldn't go to the dermatoligist just for that.

    pls reply.

  • Did your doctor tell you how long it would take for the hair loss to stop? I was just curious because my hair has been falling out for 2 months now and I've lost about 15% of it..

  • Have you had your iron levels tested? Google "sally ann Evesham UK" and there is loads of info to resolve this problem. BTW, you have done really great and your attitude is amazing; I was suicidal when my hair started to fall out. It happens when your body is in trauma.

  • You look Awesome!!!

  • Did you take your goofy pill today? LOL.. Just kidding, you seem like your in a really good mood today and it's great you found out all that information and thanks for sharing it with us. Not that I have to worry about it YET! But I will one day. We love you and keep the videos coming :)

  • Do you take biotin for your hair loss?

  • Thank you SO much for making this video! What about the Nioxin?? It really isn't helping much, is that what the dermatologist said? Thanks for sharing!

  • my hair is kind of coming back :D so i'm super happy!

  • wow i looked at your first vid and...

now look at you. you look great!

  • Hi Amelia - I just found your posting and have watched mostly all of them. You have a great attitude and you really connect with the viewers. keep it up sister!

  • Girl you look amazing, every video better and better. I am very happy your hair will grow back and you are not worried.

  • Hero Dog save dog hit by car - Better Quality video is what you have to type in the search because it wont let me post a site link

  • hi amelia, since you are a postive, I love a great story type of person I wanted you to see this video. I saw it on tv and for some reason I wanted you to see it because I think you spread a lot of positive energy around and this dog made me feel the same way. There are still good people and animals in the world...not comparing you to a dog lol but that in 2008 you were a really positive force in my online life.

  • All I can say is, as usual very educational. Ever think about doing a WLS educational T.v show. You took away another worry I had about the surgery, Thanks Amelia!

  • I'm having my surgery next january, I was so depressed today because it's holiday in Italy and I'm home alone and too ashamed of being so fat to go out and bla bla bla..

I watched this video and you made me laugh, so thank you for making my day. Keep going, I'm you n.1 fan! God knows how much I adore you!

  • Amelia...can I just say I love you? YOU ARE SOOO FUNNY!! You made me laugh and that is always a good thing. You look great...be well.

  • This has happened to me because of severe trauma (broke my back) followed by a 5-1/2-hour surgery. My nurses said it is because the body is in shock -- just as it is with WLS followed by rapid weight loss. (I also didn't have a period for a very long time after the accident.) BUT I AM HAPPY TO REPORT that it does end on its own after several months. I just started taking essential fatty acids (make sure it's 3, 6, and 9--not just the 3), and hair is starting to grow in strong.

  • Congrats in your weight lost :) You look very pretty,Don't worry about hair loss,Im sure everything will go back to normal soon :)

  • Hey pretty lady! Got an off topic Q for you. At the Meet and Greet, you were wearing an sparkle eye liner that really showed off your pretty eyes. Would you mind telling me where I can find it? I think my 21 yr old daughter would LOVE it for Christmas. My surgery is on the 16th. I'll be using rogain as soon as I notice sheddage. :) THANKS for sharing and helping us all! BLESSINGS! HUGS! Cami

  • if you're thinking wigs, beckaofsweeden on youtube has some great wig videos!

not that your hair isn't beautiful, but it's always fun to play with the way you look in easy ways!

  • Hi Amelia, Thanks for the info. I had lapband surgery on Sept 5th and am down 26 pounds (43 BMI to a 37 BMI.....so far.) My hair is very thick - but I have noticed that a LOT more falls out when I brush it. I am getting my protein and even indulge in a Biotin supplement every now and then. After seeing this video - I am off to buy Rogaine before this situations worsens. Thanks for the advice. I have been watching you throughout my process and you are an inspiration.

    Amanda

  • Amelia, was your hair thick before surgery? Just want to know because this whole hairloss thing does freak me out. I am so relieved to know its temporary. 12 doctors, wow! Thank-you again for another informative video. You look amazing. Vanessa

  • do yoou think is better to do it before it hapends? I went to me 1rst visit and it was great next step y go to psicologist, xray hart etc etc. hope my insurance says YES bmi 50 so hopefully that helps.

  • I'll get some rogaine like today. I have thyroid issues on top of everything else and have noticed my hair thinning already (And my surgery isn't till Dec17th) so great post Amelia! THANK YOU thank you Thank You!! :)

  • There is a product out called scalpmed and i have heard that it is better then rogain , it's on tv noand then, or you can look for it on-line. good luck and you look great.

  • yeah, but my dermatologist said rogaine and he made my psoriasis completely disapear so i believe him

  • You always crack me up! Love watching your videos :)

  • HEY thanks a bunch, it's nice hearing about these things.

  • hahah i love you, your too funny...I would have loved to see the dermatologist's face! lol and your skin is glowing! you look so beautiful. Have a good weekend

  • I was thinking maybe it would be better for your hair to not wash it everyday....yes your bald spot will show more, but your hair grows much faster and healthier when it has its natural hair oils....but if you wash it and make it dry it wont fill out more...just a thought though

  • I'm three months out and my hair loss has begun... I have always had thick wavy hair, so this is going to be an "experience". But you know what? It's ok, because I've lost 42 pounds and am now officially off all blood pressure meds...YAY! So I am on my way to good health... I'm glad to know that Rogaine will help our problem! Keep us posted on if you notice the Rogaine helps you.

  • Yes run out TODAY and get rogaine

  • This video made me smile.

  • You are such an inspiration. I am getting my surgery this month and since I have found you and your videos I come here everyday to see if there is something new. You have prepared me for a lot more than you know...thank you so much.

  • Gotcha covered,Thanks Amelia.I am so loving my new threads from the meet n greet.Love ya Diana

  • send me pics!

  • My hair is still falling out also!!! I thought after 6 months it comes back? I guess not its almost been 8 months since my surgery and I know its been longer for you! You are right though, I'd rather be healthy.

  • It will be almost 2 years before it really has a chance to come back, but you can start Rogaine NOW!!! please don't wait like i did

  • U have such a great attitude. We gotta love u! Thinking positive is always the way to go.

  • I have to be positive! Men are still asking me for my number and telling me how cute I am so it can't be that bad...

  • Always look forward to your videos. You look GREAT! You're right though being health & losing weight is the way to be.Let me know if that Rogain works.I'm crossing my fingers that w/ my surgery that my underactive thyroids & other medical conditions either improve that I don't have to take meds anymore or where the doses of meds is lowered. My major concern was hair loss, menstration loss, what/how I'm suppose to take my daily meds now then when it happens. Take care keep safe always both of you

  • You still look beautiful to all of us. A shining testament to what this procedure can do to your life and lifestyle. On a positive note I just passed week 2 and had my first doctors appointment. Lost 21 pounds. I was so excited I had tears in my eyes. Thank you again for being a true inspiration to people like me.

  • Congrats!!! when the weight loss slows down please don't be upset.. you can't lose 21 pounds every 2 weeks for long. Remember be healthy and the numbers will sort themselves out...

  • can damaged hair folicles due to accessive dying become thick again if you stop dying your hair and let it re grow?

  • You have the best attitude.

  • What a wonderful public service message!

  • hey amelia! being a hair dresser ive had a few clients that have had some really negative results due to rogain...just wanted to let ya know =o) xoxo ang

  • Hey, would you mind telling what those negative results were? I'd like to know what to watch for if I decide to use Rogain. Thanks for the heads up.

  • I know exactly how you feel. I am suffering from hairloss as well. I had a major break-down at the hairdresser, when I saw my skalp. BUUUUUT it is starting to come back now. So there is light at the end of the tunnel!

  • Amelia dont worry about it, its actually really not that bad it will grow back in no time! Have a great weekend and take care.

  • I've just gotta ask.. do you take Biotin? I've been taking Biotin 5000 mcq since surgery and oh my!! I lost alot of hair, especially because I had 4 major surgeries this year.. but right now, my hair looks like I'm a porcupine! HAHA! It's growing in like crazy. I'm sure you're taking it or have tried it. But I just had to ask. :)

  • yeah, but it gave me hair in other places besides my head LOL

  • LOL I know what you mean. I have to shave my legs so often now. Drives me crazy.. but it's worth it. And so I gotta pluck a few stray chin hairs now and then.. LOL

  • omg, you made me snort with your "nay nay" LOL

    Lookin good!

  • Were you taking your vitamins ? Baldness is also a sign of malnutrition. So if the rogain doesn't work. go to a internist to check yourself.

  • LOL, your funny. Of course i take my vitamins. As I said, I do all the right things.. my dermatologist and the pamphlet says that just having surgery can cause telogen effluvium. The shock of severe weight loss can cause it. There is no way I could have kept this from happening, believe me I did EVERYTHING I could. I have blood tests that tell me if I am deficient in vitamins and they say I am fine. I have 12 doctors, I am checking my health constantly. Baldness can be a sign of other things too

  • Thanks sharing

    -barry

  • That is great to know :o). I'm glad you got some real answers! Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Carolyn

  • Glad to hear, that kinda makes me feel a bit better about when I Myself have the surgery. And either way dear, you look great. Stay positive.

  • wow lady! I can really tell that you're waist has more of a curve to it now.

  • i talked about this back in may or june on DS. i mentioned some great papers that talked about telogen effluvium. check them out! i know youtube doesn't like links. but it's under the gastric bypass surgery section on daily strength under: forum/3618911-hair-loss/page-3.

hair or not, you still look great.

  • Thanks for the info, girlfriend.

  • I am pre-op and have been concerned about this...thanks for the great information!

  • Hey! Thanks so much for the info. This is definitely one of the things I'm concerned about happening after surgery (mine is January 13th). I wonder if it makes sense to do this proactively before it starts falling out to minimize it? I am taking biotin from now. Thanks for being so positive and an inspiration! :)

  • Boy do I relate to this. I had two wls within a four year period and I lost 1/3 my hair each time. The second surgery was about 3.5 yrs ago and it really never grew back :( I took supplements and ate lots of protein. I've alawys had super thin hair so it really shows. I'm curious about that Rogaine! Best of luck.. I'll be following! :)

  • i have been losing hair because i took this drug for psoriasis called methotrexate. hair loss sucks. i can't stand it. you're so upbeat about it, amelia. you really are an inspiration. take care. eisy

  • I've been loosing hair, but I'm taking a natural pills prescripted by the nutricionist. I'm lucky because I don't have major hair loss. My skin is the one that isn't good...I've found a sos regeneration cream by Vasenol, but it's so greasy, my hair glues to my forehead...So unconftable! But I've lost 46.29 pounds in 4 months and that's great!!! The skin situation it's like a variation of teen years skin, I hope!

    kisses
