But you did not put this on in the Speck approved manner. LOL I was kinda cringing when you put the lower part on. You were careful about the hinges.

Got it from Amazon for $14 + ship = $21.58 (Factory Depot) was the vendor it went through.

I really like the case and got it in red. Love the ability to keep the notebook on your lap now as the heat is not on your thighs!

Nice review but I think these covers make you less careful with your PC (yes a Mac is a PC!), that's why you have all the scratches on the cover. Just my 2 cents!

I got a green and a purple one in the clearance section of Bed, Bath and Beyond of all places for $4.99 each. They are great but the big issue is that they are a fingerprint grease magnet. Keep that cleaning cloth they give you handy cause you'll need it every time you touch it.

well technically plastic scratches very easily so that's why it had a lot of a scratches

and inorder to scratch something it has to have a "hardness" greater then the thing you are trying to scratch

so aluminum does scratch but only with things with a hardness geater

Aluminum MBP's don't scratch or at least I've never seen a scratch on a Mac Book Pro so not sure why someone would want to spend the fifty bucks to protect something that really doesn't need protection from scratches.

Also I've had my MBP for 8 months and no scratches at all with no cover or anything. The only thing I have for my MBP is a backpack with a laptop slot in it. But whatever if you have the money and want a little color on your MBP I could understand.

I honestly believe that all of those scratches on a plastic shell WOULD NOT be on your computer. I have the same aluminum enclosure on my 17" from early 2003 and it still looks brand new. I simply keep it in a bag when not in use like most people do. I think the anadized AI enclosure is almost impervious to scratches if one is actually taking care of their book. The same CAN'T be said a some piece of glossy plastic.

That said I'm happy you got a case to help you have a green macbook pro!

I had had one of those for my old macbook (I had the first black ones) and I always had the feeling that they get slighly hotter in there and also the casing makes them so much fater even though it is probably over all only like 5 millimeters thicker. but anyway I decided to take it off. dunno... that is just my oppignion on these things.
