  • Cowboy Bebop. 'nuff said. :)

  • You look great in Pink! Where are the tattoos? (None? prove it) You should also realize (according to minute physics) that Pink is not one color but a mixture of red and blue ( the lack of green ) So no wonder Pink is beautiful and existential. Does that mean you don't eat broccoli? Therefore that can also account for your strange taste in TV shows. Sorry I cant be as entertaining to you as you are to me.

  • Yu yu Hakusho! Ultimate Muscle!

The latter is for immature boys primarily, though. The former is for anyone who likes... sentimentality and belittling humour and... stuff.

  • it has nudity :p ....

  • the dog days... are over?

  • 0:08 :( I can see the back of your wig... Love you singing though!

  • LOL

  • Anime smile always brightens my day!!

  • Neon genesis -3times infinity

  • Neon Genesis is an atrocious anime. go watch death note, code geass or samurai champloo.

  • I love the song ... Dog days are over by Florence + the machine in the background !

    I love Florence ... And you as well : ) !

  • wow... you have very beautiful green eyes!!!

  • your videos are MESMERIZING!

  • Thanks to Pretty girl .

  • You're absolutely right - anime doesn't get its due from Western audiences. I think the main reason is because they tell stories differently than we do. Anime tend to be very sentimental, very dumb or intellectual to the point of being hard to digest. One great anime I saw in the summer was Aoi Hana - you should check it out! It's a very touching story about an all-girl's school.

  • My favs.... Gundam...Full Metal Alchemist...Samurai Champloo...Gurren Lagann.

Heroic Age....Moribito...never bow down to peer pressure.

  • Great anime smile, lol

  • Yay! Arrested development's been renewed for 10 episodes and a movie =D

  • Also, as for American shows unfortunately the only thing to capture my attention for longer than a single season is Breaking Bad. Utterly fantastic captivating in every sense of the word. Now other show can keep me on the edge of my seat like that one.

  • I only watch intelligent anime that deals with things I think about constantly. Ghost in the Shell is pretty much the only thing I could get into.

  • @iReturnV1deotapes While Ghost in the Shell is great, your missing out on a world of great anime. You seem to like your cyberpunk, so you might consider Appleseed, which is another great piece of Shirow-punk,

  • @sleepymagpie I've heard of Appleseed and have been thinking about checking it out, but it's not that I'm a cyberpunk fanboy, I just enjoy intellectual commentary. Writing that makes me think will hold my attention a lot more than action. Paprika is another example of good writing. I hear Death Note is fantastic also.

  • @iReturnV1deotapes Death note is good, i personally prefer Code Gease for the "grand chess game" style anime. You might consider trying spice and wolf, while I have only seen one episode, and cannot comment on the whole series, I have heard good things about it, and the premise is interesting.

If you haven't watched either Samurai Champloo, or Cowboy Bebop however, your they are you homework for the week :D

  • 0:18 Not familiar with hair?

  • Can you imagine your life as an anime??? Lol..

If the history is the same and only some details change.. What would be wrong about it?? .. Would you decide to not exist forever and let a phony to impersonate you to change the "repetitive" history??... I like you as you are right now.... Regards. Gabriel.

  • Watch Texhnolyze, very good Japanese cartoon (anime).

  • We produce Anime for the American market - I can honestly say Anime is the biggest pile of garbage I've ever seen. Every time I have to work on it I feel I can't shower enough. I can see those filthy old buggers riding home on the train - watching panty shots of little girls. I'm getting out - I'm thinking of taking a job at Hustler-I want to work on something clean for a change. lol

  • I have "The Kiss", G. Klimpt, (background art) on my coffee/co-co cup, every time I have a sip I get a little kiss....

  • Ive watched so much anime it makes me sick a good part of my brain is devoted to DBZ images of flying around blowing stuff up with ma energy fingers !!

  • @OneMove33 I loved akira i cant seem to find any epic anime movies like this anymore that i can just sit down and eat lots of food whilst loosing myself in...in.... burrrgh cant b assed to explain in those mushrooms last night fried my brain twas awesome

  • Watashi wa otaku desu (means - I am a geek)

Yes you are. Next time, pig tails ok? In Anime style, of course!

  • i asked for some warm highlights....lol

  • Have you seen Adventure Time? It's mathematical!

  • Looks like Haruko's been in town...

  • I like this video :) Arrested Development is / was a great show. You may want to check out the NBC show community. I believe that the character Abed is an INTP. Jeff played by Joel McHale is a total INTJ, and the two characters have a great chemistry. I think I'll record a video response to show you a book I used last year for pharmacy school for molecular biology taught through Manga. Cheers.

  • @intpwolf Haha, I've heard of both (the show and that type of textbook). I'll check out the show, sounds good! Was that textbook teaching strategy effective?

  • @existentialistcat

The manga DNA book gets closer to the perfect learning resource than any other book on the subject that I looked at. I am a visual spatial learner. I believe that is an archetype type prerequisite. I learn one concept at a time. I'm superb at mono-tasking, terrible at multi-tasking. The book is compartmentalized well. A total immersion, multi-media, isolation chamber scenario would be ideal. Think Elmo meets Memento meets virtual reality narrated by Morgan Freeman.

  • oh well, wasnt a surprise for me that u like anime.

i guess every smart person has the same symptoms

    anime fan

    self-imposed depression

    good taste for music

    interests for philosophy

    introverted

    and some other...

  • @Hakunushi hmmm... check, check, check, check, che--- =/

  • @existentialistcat Nerdy arrogance... I hate it.

  • @existentialistcat are you introverted?

  • You seem nice. You have many videos that are interesting, this being one of them. I'm not going to say more for fear of being superficial but above all else be yourself and stay on the bright side.

  • Subbed just for this video

especially for mentioning Neon Genesis Evangelion (The DBZ/Sailor Moon comment is too true)

  • Tell me you're into Aeon Flux and you will officially be the coolest YouTubist IMO.

  • Well, as long as you didn't wake up with your pants and blouse unbuttoned...consider it a victory! :-)

  • there are a lot of different genre of anime just like there are many different genre of other media, anime doesn't ruin your social life it helps you look at people doing stupid things a little more humorously. i actually met my husband because of a common animated character we enjoy. we enjoy anime but we also enjoy going to the farmers market, art galleries, opera, kids play areas because we have 2 sons, friday night at the park, old town. but we don't shut ourselves in to watch anime either.

  • @twistedtreespirit

sometimes there are anime conventions where you get to see all the fun creative cosplay and thats fun sometimes too. i find that anime is a lot more creative in their presentation then many of the american cartoons. a lot of anime touches on hot button issues without just outright attacking them. people have all kinds of weirdness but i will tell you anime is not the worst skeleton to have in your closet. some of the art is very appealing such as on xxxholic and fushigi yuugi

  • a lot of the "nudity" is censored and lacks definition like you may see a behind with no crack or breasts with no nipples occasionally that is even covered up with a bathing suit drawn in. unless you are watching anime that is classified as hentai which shows everything and can be extremely disturbing. i don't think that your choice of media decides what your social life is like, i think that however much of that media you allow to become real in your life does. same as with any media.

  • if you were say to watch saw and then go and do the things you see in the film that would get you arrested. it is important to have a clear definition of what is real and what is not. don't try and do things you see in anime. for one thing if your nose bleeds that much because you see a pretty girl you would die, noone has that much blood in their body to gush out like that.

  • I stumbled my way into an intense discussion, once, over anime vs cartoons. I called anime 'cartoons' and the response was intense! Like calling a crow a chocolate cream pie, or something. I couldn't see the difference. It was weird.

    P.S Good in pink!!

  • mm

  • Since intp's like to play with words, this might explain why you titled this

"shame on anime". One of my favorite plays on words is In Shakespeare's "Tempest": "admired Miranda".

  • Tintoretto painted at least nine Last Supper's. Each one is a little different. The last one is his most famous. It pendant to his painting of the Israelites Gathering Manna.

  • Actually I like some of the things you have to say and I do like your ability to make music. I was in a ranting mood but I still think some of it is pretentious ... yawn. (I took your advice to use the placement of yawn correctly. ) lol.

  • Wait, did someone say something about nudity?! ...sorry, had to work the segue in. So, does the anime category include Hentai and Manga, and what are the primary differences between subcategories of anime?

  • She is kinda getting on my nerves now days....obviously she's really intelligent but I feel a really fake and camera manipulating vibe from her. Like feeding on poor losers without girlfriends attentions. She's nothing special...she's above avg intelligence but really shallow inside. My gf is miles above her level. Yawn sry for the rant, but I can see so clearly though peoples lameness.

  • @Zeroimplosive Maybe this needs to be addressed... I have the right to experiment with all kinds of styles, if you don't like it, don't watch/sub. Additionally, saying "yawn" at the beginning of a sentence makes it sound like you are trying too hard to be casually condescending. And putting everyone else down and raising yourself up? Sorry but I can see through you too, and it's the same thing I've seen over and over again.

  • @existentialistcat He does have a point about a vibe even though it may not perhaps accurately reflect who you are. I think your situation(which is largely out of your control) might improve a bit if you were more intellectually aggressive and sustained dialogue better. Otherwise you seem to have this "come to me" attitude which implicitly relies on charm and helps create the problem you're in. Guys become embarrassed when wanting to engage you, then other guys insult them to feel better

  • @EpistemicDuty That "come to me" vibe is largely imagined. For example, I have been asked by several guys whether I am secretly communicating with them with my videos. There are no secret messages for anyone. It's just my (perhaps lame) attempt to be entertaining. Just like in real life, guys who want to "philosophically engage" me are more likely just romantically interested. I just can't tell the difference anymore. If I seem coy, it may just be an unfortunate part of my personality.

  • @existentialistcat You read something into my words that wasn't there. The "come to me" vibe was not about messages to anyone in particular but the fact that you come across as thinking you are already interesting enough on merits of personality alone where you don't have to be as engaging to have people engage you. And as for having guys "just" being romantically interested, perhaps this proves my point.

  • @existentialistcat Thats quite sad.... maybe those guys just find your views really interesting and just want to talk more about philosophy. I find your videos are either hilarious or quite intellectual stimulating, and it has nothing to do with you being a girl. they're just good.

  • Your eyes are AWESOME.

  • Dont you just hate how you usually have to hide liking anime and can only tell a few close friends :/ feels like you are in the closet or sumthin lol

    P.S.

  • @ObscureNemesis Oh I've seen them. Everything by Miyazaki is gold. :D HMC is actually a pretty good book too....

  • Agree with your comment about tv shows produced in the US. As a European it is obvious that many of them seem to convey some sort of a moral, which is reinforced at the end of the show, just to remind people. As for originalty and humour, the fresh prince of Bel Air and Seinfeld were pretty outstanding, both in character and content, you can keep the rest.

  • i feel like a loser now

  • What can I say .. You look pretty with or without that wig .. You reimind me of W Ryder in the B/W parts..lol .. A new style of making videos??..

Now you confront anime and a very softly way.. In case you had been trying to communicate some parallel message with anime as a facade .. Anyways.. I LIKED IT!!! .. Sometimes it appears I just cant dislike anything coming you..

  • You're right, it's an art form just like any other. It has those precious few that break the mold and shatter stereotypes. I try and ease people into anime with something fun and slightly better than generic like Death Note or Gurren-Lagann before shattering their universe with NGE, haha. It's unfortunate that it has such a bad stigma but I do think it is getting better. Lately I've had greater success in getting people to at least give it a shot.

    Good vid.

  • By the way when will you marry me?

  • LOL, was that a lemon hentai background music?

  • Omg I love anime!! :D (see look I can't make a genuine anime smile but my keyboard sure can see!)

  • @MrMC343 I didn't have to "sift" through the messages to see your posts. They come up in my email. NT tho.

P.S- make sure you tag cat in your poem you made. I'm SURE she will love it ;)

  • Hey baybee! U look like a juicy little piece of bubblegum. Anybody ever told you that?

  • 1st- thought the wig was cute. 2nd- I disagree w/ your prof. No way is presentation more important than plot. That equates to style without substance. While I agree that a completely original plot is rare, you still gotta have one, or it just becomes another movie based on special effects. Boring. Be well, take care, try a pony-tail for us. lol. See ya, Ross :)

  • @MrMC343 I don't doubt your sincerity but it is futile to prove to others that you admire her for her intelligence. She's so beautiful that looking at her for a brief time is both relaxing and uplifting. So many would try to prove they admire her for her intelligence which means she is used to people taking that approach. I'd make more videos to her but I don't want my channel to be viewed as an "existentialistcat response channel". At least she knows I'm willing to be a belligerent asshole :)

  • Monster

    Cowboy Bebop

  • @MrMC343 I didn't ask you. But if i did i'm sure you would know, you got all the signs of a stalker.

  • Watashi wa otaku desu... means, I am a geek.

Your anime smiles were just too cute. :-]

  • I always lol when you flare your nose at any given time....you surprised me when you mentioned Dexter...you seem to innocent to enjoy it. I pictured you covering your eyes when seeing violence....

  • cosplay, hentai, and galaxy express 999.

  • You .. Dexter .. too? =D

  • The only thing I can ever think to comment when I see any of your videos is.... I LOVE YOU

  • @fullygodfullyhuman I love the anime smile!!!

  • Flash editing is so irritating.

  • ergo proxy

  • Interesting new style of recording and presenting your point. I think that It differs from your usual style but that's okay, they're both good. I agree with you as far as anime goes I've watched a couple anime shows in my life that I love for their originality however I don't believe that I could be considered a hard core anime fan or anything like that. I like how you brought up the fact that there is good and worthwhile art found in every culture and how you shouldn't judge an entire genre.

  • Um, why?

  • shame!

  • Haha, I don't watch TV, so I notice those formulas on the rare occasion that I watch. But this Jap flick looks awesome! ;) /watch?v=kWBOWbAzfuM

  • watch breaking bad

  • Reminds me of Scarlett in Lost in Translation.

  • by the way, you are awesome

  • I love anime! American shows and asian shows are two very different styles. Asian shows are generally much more based on character building and subtle plot lines. And usually they just put you in a 'feel good on life' mood : ) . Love samurai champloo!

  • Anime + Originality = Studio Ghibli

  • i wish she would do a whole video on anime smiling

  • that was slightly unsettling. are you drunk here?

  • Thanks for reminding me of It's Always Sunny, NEW SEASON YAY!

  • AAAAAAAAhahahaha.

  • I agree with you that we shouldn't make gross generalizations...but anime is shit isn't it?

  • You're beginning to show quite a different side of yourself.

  • How did you make your eyes so huge!?!?!

  • What's really funny is getting an anime fan that hates Bollywood and a Bollywood fan that hates anime to argue with each other at a bar... their comments, both pro and con, are almost identical. Best demonstration ever of the same idea. I guess one person's metaphorical toolkit is just another's dustbin of cliches, neh?

  • lol wow I did not expect this, nice.

  • as an aside, you look very comfortable infront of the camera now!
