I've lived in both Buffalo and the NYC area. Doesnt compare.  Buffalo is a much bigger hockey town. NYC fans drop hockey like a hot rock as soon as someone mentions the word baseball. Yes they were an original six team, but the worst among them. Only 3 cups in about 50 years of only 6 teams? yeah thats impressive. You can mock the Sabres for missing the playoffs for one year, but I wont worry until they go ten years without winning a playoff game like the Rangers did.
