The political line of the Lib Dem added to the very similar Labour line won the vote.... The Tory manifesto (which was the complete opposite of both) lost the vote... The reason Clegg should to leave the coalition now... the majority did not vote for these savage cuts etc

Love all the Clegg bashing. But people shouldn't be so hard on him,he came a very poor 3rd in the election. Despite the socialist BBC bigging him up,LibDems did worse than ever.They actually lost seats. Clegg is the VERY junior party in the coalition. But despite that, he's getting quite a few of his nutcase communist policies through (destroying the army, raising taxes etc) So all the communist layabout druggie students on here who think the world owes them a living should be quite pleased.

@333piano333... Perhaps that would be his defence, though the vote was not my point... Clegg's lack of integrity, ego and personal character was what I wished to highlight.... Clegg knew not a single person would have voted for him if they thought he would side with the Conservatives, yet he did it anyway. He knew he would have to break many more election promises in order to follow the Conservative line too.

By voting lib dem you gave up your vote and let the lib dem party decide who they chose. you can't complain really! @MrPhartiphukborlz I have no problem with who people vote for, I am merely pointing out that in these circumstances I did come down to Labour or Conservative getting the overall majority. Most of the coalition is made up of conservatives therefore it would seem natural that their political views would come out through the new policies - Clegg could not do much about that. I am young and have not yet decided my political bias which is why I am trying to look at things subjectively before deciding

For example, I noticed during the 1st live debate that Brown tried to use examples of agreed issues made behind the scenes with the Lib Dems to make a point. Nick refused to acknowledge that there was such an agreement in order to undermine Brown. Such doubts over Clegg's integrity ave been played out many times since.

I remember when (very briefly) the UK actually had a PM that would U-Turn when he was wrong - i.e. 10p tax and passports for Gurkha's.... A PM who was blamed for the UK recession, yet (as chancellor) turned down the PM job in exchange for joining the Euro as he was certain we should retain independent control of our currency...Thank god.
Good decisions unravelled by Coalition ammeters..we now have people terrified to spend.. double dip here we come
