@MsZwinkyHelpers not every 1 but it can be common with audio drivers ive never heard about networking problems but if you dont have networking problems you can go into control panel and just update or install needed drivers

put vista on the same drive as xp or what ever once you install vista and boot up go to start computer c drive or what ever drive you put your other os on and the find a file called windows old in the main c drive folder or in the windows folder under c drive i cant be specific because i dont have the folder there any more but you should find it easily or if you want buy a small external hard drive or flash drive its like 50 dollars for a 300 gb hard drive

simply im saying windows creates a back up of your files located in what ever drive you installed the os on for my case i installed vista on the same hard drive as my old os was i cant say if your files will be backed up if you install them on another hard drive and you can transfer some files over but cant transfer most programs over
