I watched an interview where Alex said that the one thing he missed about the pilot was the infrared vision while vampires looked like swirling ash. And the change in cast. This looks pretty good, but I think the lines are way better in the actual show vs. this.

i found some of the scenes in tv is quiet similar to this unaired pilot.

Alex did almost the same action even though the other actors/actress were replace.

he's awesome and one of my real fav. actors(consider i have lots of interest,it's hard to say fav. ,so I added "real". )

no just the pilot they redid because they desided that sophia myles had better chemestry with alex and they reshot the same parts of the original pilot just with the different actors that is why it looked like the original i hope it helps lol

I am glad they kept Alex and changed the girl for Beth and have been so sad and shocked that the series is no more. I think there was more of the story to be told and I would have tuned in every Friday to watch. It's a sad time in TV when good shows get the axe and the bad ones just keep on going. Good luck to the cast and I wish all the best.

I love Sophia since Tristan&Isolde and she was actually the reason why I watched the first episode.

To me this proves moonlight is not just a show with alex o'loughlin, the whole cast is important for its success - the chemistry between them and of course josefs one liners which are brilliant!. the old beth, coraline and josef just don't 'click'

This goes to show us how the chemistry between the cast is so important.

I think one of the reasons ML worked so well was because of the cast change, we can see how compfortable they are with each other.

Imagine an older looking Josef?? With out the snarky comments we love? How strange is that?! :)

can't help but feel that it all worked out for the best in terms of the re-casting,,,,the acting of the original Beth is excruciating! some of the dialogue is cringey as well...now all we need is a second season pick up. save moonlight rah rah rah!

i thought the girl who was supposed to be Beth in this one was Vitamin C or whatever her real name is. I think she played Lucy in Dracula 2000.

Gotta add that I, too, am glad for the re-cast. The Beth in this pilot is too CSI-style, and the Joseph is too old. I love Sophia and Jason in these roles! The final cast has the best chemistry!!

Even with Alex, I don't think this cast would have gone anywhere. Thankful the producers realized that and re-cast. Sooooo much better.

Yay for the new Beth. I honestly don't think I would like this show. I love Sophia Myles. She's perfect for the part and so so beautiful! Also, the Josef was old in this one. And Guillermo was even different.
