I lived in Dallas when Coryell coached the Cardinals. I remember fearing them more than any other team because under Coryell they just seemed to have Dallas's number. In 1977 they beat the 8-0 Cowboys in Dallas on Monday Night Football. I don't recall exactly, but I think the Cowboys went up like 17-3 and I remember seeing Coryell on the sideline and I was yelling something like "how do you like that loser!" And then what I dreaded happened. Bombs away. Final score: Cardinals 24 - Dallas 17.
R.I.P. to the father of the modern passing game. Yeah I know the West Coast Offense dominated the league for 20 some years but we still see some aspects of that offense today.
R.I.P. Coach, you were the best. Thank you for all you did for the team and the City of San Diego. Gods speed to you. Hall of Fame will be your next stop. Dakota Bolts Fan.

Thank you Coach for making the passing game what it is today.
Thank you for turning a whole team around.
Thank you for making the players believe in something.
Thank you for making an entire nation believe in something.
Even though I wasn't around to see your players do your magic on live TV, I know that nobody could've done it better than you, Coach!
No matter where we're from or what team we're rooting or playing for, we will always love you.
... R.I.P Coach!
