Oh YEAH!! This brings me back to my freshman year in high school!! My husband just happened to use the expression "keep the ball rolling" and this song popped into my mind (as it always does!). It's just so darned HAPPY!! Thanks guys for a wonderful little song, and to posting this! I STILL love it and have the 45 rpm someplace!!
My God, this takes me right back to my junior high school days in 1967 in Huntington Park, California.......Those happy days with a booming economy......Sadly, there was Viet Nam......Thank you God for those days.....
This was the theme song of the Ashland College Eagles basketball team under Bill Musselmann in the 60s. The team did an incredible warm-up to this song that psyched out the other team. What memories.
@snoopy1648 Yes, I went to Ashland College (now Ashland U.) from 1970 to 1974. Many times the opposing team would spend their warm-up time watching Ashland doing their routine to this song (also "Sweet Georga Brown" which Mr. Musselmann played right after). Interesting to note Ashland under Bill Musselmann was rated nations #1 defense all the years he was coach. Scores were always low, but Ashland usually won.
When this song was playing in 1967, it was broadcast on AM ( amplitude modulation ) radio as all pop music in the 1950's and 1960's...Back in those days I was 14 and would hear it on BOSS RADIO 93 KHJ, or also on KFWB Channel 98...
( Both in Los Angeles ) Sometimes I would hear this song in my dad's gas station while I pumped regular gasoline for 18.9 cents per gallon, or Premium
Ethyl for 36.9 cents per gallon...NEVER will we see those prosperous days again..GOD help us..Sierra Cuban, Miami
I was ten years old and was already a music lover when this song was out. Living just a few miles from Allentown Pa. where Jay and The Techniques came from. They were every local young musicians inspiration. Till this I still love the late 60"s music especially anything with horns. Great Song!
One of my all times favorites takes me back to North High in Phoenix, AZ. I have this song on my MP3 player for the car and gym

The heck with such "artists" as Miley, JoBros, Hilary Duff, Britney, and others.
THIS is what real music AND real talent is all about. Real (not studio enhanced) voices and real instruments.
