  • there was a guy that said pantera was better than slayer but at least slayer wasnt cock rock in the 80's, this is real fucking metal

  • agrressive perfector is amazing

  • THERE ARE 9 POSSERS THAT DESERVE TO DIE BY THE SWORD..........

  • The best era of SLAYER! when they were underground and were not part of mainstream now

  • 7 people aren't agressive perfector's

  • I never knew kerry used a dean!

  • 7 Pooser v/s 269 AGGRESIVE THRASHER \m/

  • I think all Slayer Fans are Aggressive Perfector.

  • yeah, the haunting the chapel version is better than the re-mastered reign in blood version.

  • That was definitely metal

  • how can't they be Priest fans seeing this vid !!! yeaaah !!!

  • Holy SHIT. Tom's screams are fucking amazing!

  • A thing I cannot realise unitl now is that Kerry & Jeff were 19 years old in this gig! And the "songwriting" is unbelieveble, more than other amazing stuff about Slayer... only 19 yeas ago! These tracks are f*cking original and "consisting" (could I say so? My english is worst :-)

  • Couldn't agree more with the opening statements of this video. So refreshing to know there are people out there who 'know whats up'!! Nu-metal SUCKS!!!

  • Back in the glory days when Tom could hit the high notes

  • This is some killer shit!!

  • Fuck Pantera!!!This is REAL Metal.

  • dang....reminds me of '84 watching these cats at some awesome rock club in San Antone ( I totally forgot the name, they always had awesome metal..). I think I was 15 or 16, totally underaged, being blown away.

    Thanks for postin........

  • holy shit, someone else who also thinks pantera sucks :D

  • Hanneman's soloing is outstanding! Great classic shit! Thanks for sharing this pure slab of extreme metal.

  • Dude, this is killer shit-classic metal-thanks for the post-is this before they took the black make up off?

  • 6:05

Slayer played so hard that it caused a dimentional rift!

  • Dave Likes Joey because of the Energy not because he's a good drummer. Joey is a good entertainer. He's a shit drummer.

  • Jeff kinda reminds me of KK Downing in a way.

  • gotta love those power slides and the classic slayer

  • Everyone, watch as Slayer plays while they were in their prime!

  • Comment removed

  • hail satan fuck nu metal and all this new fucking cunt ass shit stay true, venom slayer!

  • yes i wrote hit the lights too

  • kickass speech. HAUNTING THE CHAPEL KICKS ASS!

  • so fucking great ....

    remember the good old times

  • lol no one likes divine intervention they like the real SLAYER like this. SLAYER!!!!!!

  • I totally agree with you. Early Slayer is a total cult metal band and a solid basis in the metal music.Old Slayer rules forever!!!

  • I know, the same happened to me!!! Life just ain't fair!

  • damn, this was an overkill of a performance

  • ahahah pantera aggrocore

  • Wasn't Woodstock on 28th March

  • Yeah, that was the show they played all the unreleased pre-album tracks, but they played the Woodstock multiple times.

I'm thinking this is the July 1st show at the Woodstock because there was a known Slayer gig on this date at the Woodstock, and at the end Tom mentions their upcoming Aug. 12th show with Witch, which was also at the Woodstock.

  • no not everyone tryed to be like metallica.

    especially not slayer.

  • This is the TRUE Slayer!!!

  • Slayer was in fact just as 'big' or as 'known' as Metallica was in 1983; They were all over the place in the Bay Area, and every headbanger had both Slayer and Metallica patches on the back of their Levi's jeans jacket, with cutoff sleaves, worn over a leather jacket, the classic Ramones rock'n'Roll style; San Francisco in 1983-1987

  • Amazing early Slayer; This is when I saw them, a year after this, when Tom Araya was still doing the high-pitched 'falsetto' screams in between verses, and on certain notes. check out 3:40-4:05

  • This is some of the best true Slayer video ever!...The sound is way better than most '83 boots...and the band looks just like they do on the back of Show No Mercy!!!...amazing.

  • actually, its the other way around. hit the lights was written by james and hugh tanner when james was in phantom lord/leather charm and it was written in 81. and aggressive perfector was written in late 82. i don't know if its a rip off but that would be the same as saying that show no mercy was a rip off of motorbreath

  • He cant scream like that anymore

  • 80s rule!

  • he did in the early 80s and switched to pleks for the "hell awaits" record. too bad =/ ;)

  • Metallica is for posers get over it.

  • this is for maggotbreath that is sad but the truth nowadays

  • Go snap a copy of Divine Intervention in half!!! LMAO!!!

  • this is metal like it used to be in the good old times

  • Do I need to point out the irony here?

  • nice scream!

  • fuck yeah!!! good ol days

  • Almost looks like Clive Burr's drums

  • WOW the scream at 3:48 kicked ass

  • Released on Haunting the chapel and Reign in Blood.

    NOT on Hell Awaits.

    Araya's scream is insane!

  • Wasnt aggressive perfector only made in 1984 and then released in stuff like Haunting the chapel, Hell Awaits and Reign In Blood?

  • No, its not natural move ;)

  • MY fav. SLAYER song ever.

    Those were the days...

  • The weak, they will always suffer, they shall be stamped on and they shall be spat on! But the strong will always survive!!!! The strong are... THE AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR!!!!

  • Actually the entire thrash/speed/death meatal scene completely died by the end of 1990 and so did it's style/enrgy/magic. Slayer today is nothing like they were in this video.

  • I was born at the end of 1990. Sucks for me.

  • I saw them in 86 and 87 in L.A. and by the end of 88 they were starting to loose thier magic but then again so did metallica, megadeth, mercyful fate/king diamond, kreator, death angel, possessed, exodus venom, nuclear assult, anthrax, dark angel, motorhead, voi vod,and all the ones I forgot. By the end of 1990 all of these bands had lost thier magic. This slayer video catches what it WAS all about back then.

  • Damn... Jeff with a V, Tom with a P-bass, Kerry with an ML, and Dave with a single bass drum. Not to mention their hair was barely even long by this time. How things change...

  • HOLY CRAP that scream at 3:48 is insane!

  • This is the song that got them a record deal with Metal Blade, wasn't it?

  • Jeff Hanneman looks wierd with a V...Looks halfway between Dave Mustaine and KK Downing, LOL...Is that a ML that Kerry King is playing? Thats just weird!

  • Jeff looks like KK Downing with that geetar.

  • is this jeff holding a flying-v... if yes this is really... trange lol... he used to play a custom lespaul during this period

  • Not really strange, it's probably just before he got the Les Paul. There are about 2-3 '83 shows on video I know of where he's playing a flying V, and they're all earlier ones, so he probably got it/used it later in 1983.

There are also some really old Slayer pics where he's got a Gibson Explorer.

  • yes, but i dont think it was a costum paula

it was a standart where he put in a kahler tremolo an some different pick ups... he also used a bich in the early days...

kerry used a dean and later a mockinbird and a warloch..

  • Fucking bad ass!! the good ol days. although they still keep it brutal,Slayer jumped the shark when kerry king shaved his head and endorsed his own line of BC rich guitars. I mean come on, what's wrong with keeping the long locks? even balding, He could have been the watermelon smashing "gallagher" of speed metal, well, him or Scott Ian.

    Anyways, this video fucking rules.

  • this shit is all true what it says at the beggining

  • This looks different from my boot of them live at the Woodstock. I might have to dig that old tape out.

  • That's the early scene for ya, They had better turn out when they did all ages shows with hardcore acts in support. They picked up steam after '85.
