I love Mariahhhhhhhhh. Apart from Betcha Gon know, which is the best in the CD, this is the second best. Impreccable song writing, a great feeling/story to a song, and great background. But unfortunately, from 2.32 till 2.41 TOTALLY FAKE, my poor girl cannot hit those notes anymore, she cannot breath like in the past. You can actually hear the background being on and the off. But anyway, this is our fucking BEST DIVA EVER, second to Celine of course.

MC your voice is going but I saw you on tour you sounded good I guess vocal rest does make a significant difference in her case on tour 100% here 90%. I think after she's done with her next album she should take another break for a yr or 2 maybe start a family but if she cares bout her voice she'll stop cause it's going slowly but surely as a lamb I love her wish the best don't want her to stop as a spectator I want her to slow down and rest her instrument b4 she can just write her great songs.
This performance is just amazing, the vocals are so hard! In music there is no right or wrong, just true or false, and if there is a point when you decide to impress people instead of being honest, then you need to do something (of course, if you have any respect for the arts) Evidently she just cares about being praised and worshipped.

Let me make this clear: I never said I was trying to bash her or play her; Mariah is a legend! She does what she does.....the technique isn't uncommon. I have Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel and this is probably one of my favorite songs on it.

Don't know why she insists on doing that. She could change the key or sing those parts in another way. It makes the performance lose its genuinity and she doesn't need to prove anything. Everyone likes when she hit those amazing high notes - yes she still can do it whenever she wants - so it's not necessary lipsynching.

I love when the track comes in at the end to take over the vocals, I wonder if she thinks we can't tell. Besides that, gr8 live performance for this era. And I agree with what someone else said about how she makes her songs so hard to produce live and this is why she needs the extra help. Valid point. Most of her songs are multi-tracked with a lower vocal, high or mid and then the adlibs with the chorus still playing.

yeah when she puts her arms around her head its cuz shes waiting for the transition of the backing track to take over for her. she did this back in 2002 on oprah when she sang my saving grace, so its nothing new. i thought the actual LIVE parts sounded pretty good too.
i mean we all know she can sing as high coz if she cant, she would have put out an album that is completely low key. no pun intended, sumthn more like whitneys. If range could really be altered in the studio whitney could have done just that. Mariah can sing that is no doubt, but she is jus too tired to perform and completely lose it thats just what i think.
You can higher the key and the pitch of the voice in studio.
Whitney didn't do that cause she always sing live, so we would have noticed if suddenly her range was back like it was before.
Mariah on the other hand started to lipsync parts of the songs (most of the time the high belts) as soon as she started to lose her range(97), so she thinks people never noticed her voice lost a lot of range.
@theoneandonly2503 first there is only 2 parts in this that is prerecorded and those are the "im hungover" and "i told you i told you" the rest is all live...and seond off she hasnt lost her range its just its harder for her to use it all the time cuz her voice has become more fragile because of the vocal nodules she has...im not saying she never lipps cuz she does and there are many performances i can show where its all lipped but this is 99.8% live

@deonoxivar I am aware of that. But she chooses to keep having the whistle to impress people instead of transmitting an emotion when performing. In music there is no right or wrong, just true or false, and if there is a point when you decide to impress people instead of being honest, then you need to do something (of course, if you have any respect for the arts) Evidently she just cares about being praised and worshipped.

Let me make this clear: I never said I was trying to bash her or play her; Mariah is a legend! She does what she does.....the technique isn't uncommon. I have Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel and this is probably one of my favorite songs on it.

Right at 2:41, the studio vocals kick in. And they dabble in and out towards 2:52. Then @ 3:01 they're back in till 3:06 (that's live). 3:10 that's studio... 3:18 she's live. 3:22 is studio pretty much till the end

She can hit high notes, but I know what theoneandonly2503 means. Her voice know lost its soul. Before, it was unhuman. Know to me she's an amazing singer, but not like before.
At least, this year she's way better than 2008, as good as 2002 - 2005.

She starts lipping from 2:41 to 3:05 and from 3:10 to 3:30. Almost like theoneandonly2503 said.
Don't know why she insists on doing that. She could change the key or sing those parts in another way. It makes the performance lose its genuinity and she doesn't need to prove anything. Everyone likes when she hit those amazing high notes - yes she still can do it whenever she wants - so it's not necessary lipsynching.

I know,it make's me so mad!!I would seriously prefer her to low the key a little and sing 100%live then doing what she is been doing for quite awhile now,wich is lipping the high note!!I listen her show she did in Atlanta
january,2 2010 and sadly she is lipping quite often!I though her voice was in better shape and evrything got all excited and bought 2 tickets for her show here in Montreal!Cost me like 200$..I didnt pay that to hear the album version or whatever pre-recorded thing she made!

her back up singer shouldn't have sang together with her at "tryin' to keep holdin on, holdin on, boy let me go! you gon wake my neighbors get away from my door!" coz it only made it sound so shaky. i don't know if it was a back up singer or a playback to make mariah's voice thicker on that part. nevertheless, the whole performance was brilliant. and its one of her 2009's best!

I love when the track comes in at the end to take over the vocals, I wonder if she thinks we can't tell. Besides that, gr8 live performance for this era. And I agree with what someone else said about how she makes her songs so hard to produce live and this is why she needs the extra help. Valid point. Most of her songs are multi-tracked with a lower vocal, high or mid and then the adlibs with the chorus still playing.

yeah when she puts her arms around her head its cuz shes waiting for the transition of the backing track to take over for her. she did this back in 2002 on oprah when she sang my saving grace, so its nothing new. i thought the actual LIVE parts sounded pretty good too.

i mean we all know she can sing as high coz if she cant, she would have put out an album that is completely low key. no pun intended, sumthn more like whitneys. If range could really be altered in the studio whitney could have done just that. Mariah can sing that is no doubt, but she is jus too tired to perform and completely lose it thats just what i think.

You can higher the key and the pitch of the voice in studio.
Whitney didn't do that cause she always sing live, so we would have noticed if suddenly her range was back like it was before.
Mariah on the other hand started to lipsync parts of the songs (most of the time the high belts) as soon as she started to lose her range(97), so she thinks people never noticed her voice lost a lot of range.
But unfortunatly for her, we can.

@theoneandonly2503 first there is only 2 parts in this that is prerecorded and those are the "im hungover" and "i told you i told you" the rest is all live...and seond off she hasnt lost her range its just its harder for her to use it all the time cuz her voice has become more fragile because of the vocal nodules she has...im not saying she never lipps cuz she does and there are many performances i can show where its all lipped but this is 99.8% live

You can sing a tone lower for example and the engineers will higher the pitch of the voice....I'm just saying that.....
