In this particular game it was more about the Oilers....comming into Pittsburgh with a less talented team and banged up Earl Cambpell and Dan Pasterini who didn;t play agianst the Chargers the following week.......and going toe to toe with them and many believing they should have won if it wasn't for that horrible call on Mike Renfro. And being the most deservng team to knock of the greatest team of the 70's ate there peek, in there stadium...thats why the OIlers are one of there greatest rivals
• I don't care what anyboy says or thinks, im tired of nobody making more of deal that this is one of the greates and biggest rivalies in NFL history!!! and it was a rivalry. Man espn has gotten bias...whenever you think about the Steelers the Oilers should always come to mine. The Steelers envied the Oilers they mocked and made fun of them more during the 70's especially (Bum Phillips) ...why because in there minds they feared us, they new that they would face each other again.
man i wish someone would just knock out a steeler...its like there summed up to be this all perfect, no negetive all winning franchise. ....Oh, wait!.....1979 Afc championship game againts the Oilers, Mike Renfro was in the the enzone!!! Letteraly being able to nockoff the the Steelers in Pittsburge during the 70's I guess thats why the rivalry always seems to be kept a secret,,but guess what steelers eveyone knows about that play...nobody cares about the steelers out side of Pittsburge.
I'm a 49ers fan and I have a lot of respect for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Rooney Family they have a lot of class and I hope the someday that the Niners take on the Steelers in the Super Bowl it would have a lot of monolouge and a lot of history team of the 70's (Steelers) and team of the 80's (49ers) three Hall of Fame QB's Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, and Steve Young combined for six Super Bowl MVP's ans thanks for posting this video clip of the Steelers.
@LawnboyBaker To me, it has got to be the 1975 Steelers, the greatest team of all time period. I mean for the Oilers and Bengals in 1975 to go 21-3 against the rest of the NFL and 0-4 against the Steelers. Late in the season the Steelers beat them by 32-9 and 42-10.
zoomping1 we did have one hell of a TRUE rivalry, not like the rest of these teams like cincinnati, cleveland, balt, these oak vs pitt decided super bowl berths
Great moment indeed. As a Steeler fan, the only grudge I really had with the Raiders was when George Atkinson belted Lynn Swann from behind in the 1976 season opener, when Swann wasn't even the ball-carrier on that play.

Another guy we Steeler fans need to thank for the 70's dynasty was Bill Nunn he helped draft the 74 class
