Windows 7 is either 32 or 64 bit. The 64 Bit version can easily run 32 bit based programs, OSX has nothing unique there. Fact is, everyone is moving AWAY from 32 bit applications anyways, and into the 64 bit area. On this, both OSX and Win 7 are well equipped to handle the load.

You don't have to upgrade a mac xD. You buy them and they are already good for the next 7 years if you don't infest it with porn and extreme games. Actually, porn isn't a problem. My mac mini is from 2005 and works good for word, pp etc. I've never had to do a virus check, actually, never had one. @NeverStopAlwaysRock As for me I push my hardware to the max gaming. I upgrade every couple years to run 1980x1080 3d 16x antialiasing and max setting and maintain 60 plus fps. Yes pcs are more maintenance but bang per buck performance mac doesnt come close.
But i just started restoring and upgrading Macs as a hobby... It's entirely possible. I got a clamshell ibook up to 512mbs of ram with a 20gb hdd, and tossed a better dvd player and hdd into a g5 imac (as well as wireless compatibility).

ACK: Crysis was not that terrible - technically it is still very good.
The physics suck sometimes (a burning motor on a boat still burns while submerged under water and stuff) and the story was a bit boring, but it got action and was eye candy.
But if you use some outdated hardware, especially the VPU/GPU, you will probably get an image quality worse than FarCry.
Hitten the specification is not enough for crysis, it really sucks on low hardware.
That leads me on to my next point, Apple Make the Operating system and the Computer, therefore there is less to troubleshoot if anything goes wrong and the OS will generally run faster, i Run Leopard on an eMac G4 from 2005, and it outperforms my Windows vista laptop from 2008, with half the specifications, Mac Are Expensive because they can be, they are beautifully designed, fast, and to be fair, don't crash much at all.

Yea you can upgrade the ram but that's about it. Their hardware is so integrated with the operating system that you can't just swap out a videocard for a new one, or get a processor with a different socket.
You can upgrade anything like you would on a PC, I've already done it, just requires a lil soldering... ( for the video card), processor wasnt too bad, installing my new 1.5 HD wasnt hard either...
Its not that hard to upgrade Macs, You just need to know what you are doing as you would a PC...
[1] Well processor and HDD are a cinch. Processor just has to be the same socket, and with Apple using intels now it's not hard to find a new one. HDD is pretty much the same deal, except you have to buy an additional external drive (not too cheap if you're backing up all your files). But as you said, soldering is required for replacing the video card, and most people don't have our knowledge with that. Compatible ram is expensive, too.
[2] As for overclocking, you can't with a mac. Not safely anyways (if you can, I'm not sure), as you can't fit a cooler on/over any of the hardware, unless you've got a tower model. You can't put in more disk drives or more internal drives (yes you can buy external e-sata drives, but they're considerably more expensive). That's just hardware though. I like macs for video editing. BUT I have to hand it to Adobe Creative Suite 4, I use it on windows and I like it a lot more than FCP.
[3] I would actually like to see Apple get a lot more sales in the near future, and perhaps some investors in gaming and other fields, somewhat edging them to up their customizeability, compatibility, take hold of the hardware enthusiast market and yet keep what they do best; a very simple GUI and OS, with good media progams.
I just hope their CEOs are not too stubborn to broaden their market at the expense of a few catchphrases, they would be missing out on a large market share.

If only you PC fanboys could see what i see on a normal day when working on and fixing windows computers. You'll be surprised at the problems i come across when trying to fix peoples computers, its really astounding.
The reason why i use a mac, because i spend all day fixing Windows computers and its nice to come home to a computer that just works. You can bash me all you want but you've have not seen what i've seen.
If you see all the screwups that use Macs, you'll probably have a lot to deal with aswell.
If you have a Windows PC that you actually take care of, it works just fine.
For example, I have a friend in College who uses a MacBook Pro. Hers is so overrun with junk and low maintenance, that she doesn't find joy in using it as it's so slow, with apps crashing left and right, usually taking 10 minutes to boot.
My cheap 9 year old Windows PC is ready to use in 3 minutes, 100% stable and error free.

Windows Users are anything but jealous. For iMovie, there's Avid. For iPhoto (which crashes on me half the time) there's Photoshop Deluxe. And for GarageBand, there's over 900 incredible applications that exceed the standards of GarageBand. There's a good reason why PCs still control over 85% of the market. Because they're easy to use. Also, the reason iTunes is on Windows is because without a PC release, Apple would be fucked.

You already have a built in camera, backlit keyboard, built in microphone, bluetooth, wireless N,daul layer dvd drive, multi touch, All the features that Vista Ultimate has and more. If you are not certain, you should ask an IT buddy of yours, and make him/her assemble or order it for you.
Also, with laptops, you must go for those without preinstalled software, since its cheaper, and you get better costumization and less headache.
I agree however, that some ppl does not have the knowledge to do those things alone, I've mentioned above.

You can upgrade Macs. The problem is that you can't upgrade portables (laptops for example) and most Mac machines are with portable structure.
In short..... You can upgrade desktop computers way better than portables. And Mac Pro (desktop) can be upgraded damn well.

I am not a big mac lover, but I thought mac desktops could be upgraded. Even SDRAM of a macbook can be upgraded from 2GB to 4GB.

Yea you can upgrade the ram but that's about it. Their hardware is so integrated with the operating system that you can't just swap out a videocard for a new one, or get a processor with a different socket.

You can upgrade anything like you would on a PC, I've already done it, just requires a lil soldering... ( for the video card), processor wasnt too bad, installing my new 1.5 HD wasnt hard either...
Its not that hard to upgrade Macs, You just need to know what you are doing as you would a PC...

[1] Well processor and HDD are a cinch. Processor just has to be the same socket, and with Apple using intels now it's not hard to find a new one. HDD is pretty much the same deal, except you have to buy an additional external drive (not too cheap if you're backing up all your files). But as you said, soldering is required for replacing the video card, and most people don't have our knowledge with that. Compatible ram is expensive, too.

[2] As for overclocking, you can't with a mac. Not safely anyways (if you can, I'm not sure), as you can't fit a cooler on/over any of the hardware, unless you've got a tower model. You can't put in more disk drives or more internal drives (yes you can buy external e-sata drives, but they're considerably more expensive). That's just hardware though. I like macs for video editing. BUT I have to hand it to Adobe Creative Suite 4, I use it on windows and I like it a lot more than FCP.

[3] I would actually like to see Apple get a lot more sales in the near future, and perhaps some investors in gaming and other fields, somewhat edging them to up their customizeability, compatibility, take hold of the hardware enthusiast market and yet keep what they do best; a very simple GUI and OS, with good media progams.
I just hope their CEOs are not too stubborn to broaden their market at the expense of a few catchphrases, they would be missing out on a large market share.

If only you PC fanboys could see what i see on a normal day when working on and fixing windows computers. You'll be surprised at the problems i come across when trying to fix peoples computers, its really astounding.
The reason why i use a mac, because i spend all day fixing Windows computers and its nice to come home to a computer that just works. You can bash me all you want but you've have not seen what i've seen.

If you see all the screwups that use Macs, you'll probably have a lot to deal with aswell.
If you have a Windows PC that you actually take care of, it works just fine.
For example, I have a friend in College who uses a MacBook Pro. Hers is so overrun with junk and low maintenance, that she doesn't find joy in using it as it's so slow, with apps crashing left and right, usually taking 10 minutes to boot.
My cheap 9 year old Windows PC is ready to use in 3 minutes, 100% stable and error free.

i upgrade my Mac all the time, I just upgraded my HDD to an SSD last week....It works perfectly and i did it in just over 2 minutes, and if you want proof go and watch "Soldierknowsbest" vid on it, he did it in 5 but was explaining on the way.

Windows Users are anything but jealous. For iMovie, there's Avid. For iPhoto (which crashes on me half the time) there's Photoshop Deluxe. And for GarageBand, there's over 900 incredible applications that exceed the standards of GarageBand. There's a good reason why PCs still control over 85% of the market. Because they're easy to use. Also, the reason iTunes is on Windows is because without a PC release, Apple would be fucked.

OS X Starts Faster, Installs Faster, Is more basic for new users while still retaining the Pro Tools for software development like xCode , Applications start faster, And the mac comes with more creative tools as stock(iLife)

What more would you need to upgrade then the hard drive, ram no a mac. You already have a built in camera, backlit keyboard, built in microphone, bluetooth, wireless N,daul layer dvd drive, multi touch, All the features that Vista Ultimate has and more. What more do you want with a fully loaded computer. Some times people buy a computer to use it and not have to worry about the latest video cards, because all they're doing is simple things.

there are two things that make a mac, a "mac"...
1) the iMac "All-In-One" design (the "apple design" for mac pro)
2) the Mac OS
that said, the same is for a "PC"...
1) the "(INSERT BRAND NAME HERE)" design
2) Windows
if you wanted to, you could build your own "Custom-Built" computer. from that point on the ONLY thing that would classify it as a "Mac" or "PC" would be it's OS.
in short, any computer ("Mac", "PC", or "Custom-Built") with no OS... IS JUST A COMPUTER!!!

Some just showed a Vista video and kept saying "Mac sucks" for no reason, others said that Vista's design was better (that's a subjective thing, but OS X's design IS more detailed), others said that Windows was safer (malware-side, that's not true), others complained about the lack of programs (with their mind back in 1998), others just include some mac sucks photos and perhaps that old anti-mac commercial which insulted Mac OS (not OS X) etc.
