@elpeeo haha, u know, in 07, when bioshock1 came out, that year changed my life. im also hooked on the 40s sound jive.. 20s-40s really.. i now have a huge playlist of nothing but good ol vintage jazz and blues. ill be more than happy to give you my list of songs that give, well, a nice classy feel, some swingin jams, blues, i got it all.. let me know so i can send you a buunnnch of artists.

  • i heard this on 40's on 4 XD

  • @burntburritos lol mee too :p

  • Hello, I am big fan of Bioshock, and after finishing the game, I am hooked with the songs in the 40s. Can any of you recommend similar music that brings out the same mood? Thanks a million!

  • @elpeeo im not sure but the ink spots, billie holiday are good and the soundtrack for fallout 3 is similiar look on youtube for the songs:)

  • @elpeeo "lets get lost" by chet baker, and anything from fallout 3 and fallout new vegas, maybe even some songs from mafia 2

  • this was when people had real voices!....not computers!

  • @Dkahe4real I'd like to add in your comment "using REAL Instruments not drop and drag notes on a computer."

  • @Dkahe4real hey now! T-Pain is awesome.. but so is the music of the 30's-50's... I like to have variety :)

  • please someone make a dubstep of this...

  • When music used to be all about the voice... beautiful T.T

  • Respond to this video... i wont be able to forget that :D

  • WHOA THAT TRANSITION... i think i like that song too

  • This song is to die for- Love it, raychapa01

  • "I'm only *Age* And I love *musician(s)* !!!!!" = Instant Attention.

  • @BrightOnimicon Don't tell everyone the formula, it loses it's impact. Then people realise I'm trolling. (Though to be honest, I AM fourteen, Irrelevant, however.)

  • this is awsome to listen to when your depressed

  • delta

  • 10 people didnt search everywhere

  • i like how they used a 50s them and incorporated it into this game.It just made it 89289289 times better and it gave the game more feel to it.

  • the 1940's 50's and 60's feel plus the science fiction underwater feel makes this game unique and fucking awesome!!

  • If you listen closely, you can hear the roars of the Ocean.

    No?

Then I must be WAY into the music.

  • This song is always in my head at school and when I hum to it no one knows what I'm humming to. It's a shame that 13 year olds don't know a classic. Oh well, more for me lol.

  • soundtrack for inception?

  • ... No more "Sweet Lady".

This "Gentleman" will walk alone now...

    It hurts so damn bad...

  • It's nice to see people out there in the 20th century still enjoy the classics. (: And I'm only 14!! I listen to this everyday, screw today's music. (Except some)

  • Such Beauty.

    @StudioGimmick Got that right.

  • @iiDinoCakesx3 (: I'm glad with you agree with me! This is music, today...we have robots for singers. Thanks a lot music industry...

  • @StudioGimmick i TOTTALLY know whut ur talkin bout!!!!!!!!!! coudnt have said it better! :D

  • @vzooper :D Thanks! (:

  • dream tats the thing to do XD

  • why is it that everytime i find wonderful music, i look down to the comments only to see a comment on how "this is way better than the fag bieber's music" or "justin bieber can go suck it, id rather listen to this". why the fuck are people even talking about him on good music like this! dont give him the fuckin publicity people, thats all im sayin! just listen and enjoy the good music =D

  • When i hear this, i'm not a Man, i'm a "Gentleman".

My girlfriend is not "My girl", but my "Sweet Lady"

  • I get shivers hearing this, This is something that I would sing to my grandchild sitting on my lap, as she's feeling down, I would sing this to my friend who would feel hopeless, this is one of the greatest songs of all time, everything will be alright as long as you dream....

  • This makes me want to go build a house in some secluded mountains, with a meadow in front of a small patio, playing this song on a gramophone, smoking a fat cigar, sitting on a rocking chair, with the typical old Italian mafia outfit...with not a care in the world, just snapping my fingers and staring in awe at the countryside.

  • @MrNowyouknowhow I feel you. I want to hear this song sitting on the beach during sunset with some On the Rocks and Crown Royal with no shirt, and no shoes.

  • @TrevorRawks Mate, yours sounds amazing! I think we should live out that dream, we would become changed men. During these stressful times, I think day dream is all we can do, with the help of this song as well. Peace buddy :)

  • thats pure music... only close my eyes or look up into the sky... yes its all fine... better than all the new crap like justin biber or any other mainstream pop music

  • @HierUmDaZuSein it's all one person. One person writes the music for quite literally every single modern "musician". He sells it to them or leases it and pockets some of the profit. This man is literally the center of all the shit you hear today, and he exists because musicians don't exist. They haven't existed for a long time, and so long as it's cost effective, they will never exist again.

  • this memeber me on the good time where a man be a gentleman and not a motherfucker and a women a lady and not a bitch i love this song

  • found the entire Bioshock soundtrack on thepiratebay, along with the music in the game.

  • ok i found it...

name is 'how much is the doggy in the window?' (what else) by patty page...

  • HEY!!!

whats the name of the Song where the Woman sings 'How much is the Doggy in the Window?'

    I NEED IT!!! :D

  • @GamerCrab lol you just said the song name

  • @THEDEADTAG i knew it xD

  • The Minerva's Den add-on to this game was amazing!

  • @pr00ch im with ya there buddy :)

  • It's a shame that the game was crap. The music was awesome as well as the advertising campaign (SITS).

  • this song is perfect. absolutely perfect. everything about it is perfect. it is the epitome of perfection. i want to make love to its perfect perfectness.

  • i think im the only person who new this song before bioshock 2 teaser

  • @cheezball1998 I don't think so... Unless the trailer was released in the 30s :)

  • @cheezball1998 I know I didn't. I love that it was popularized though.

  • This song absolutely gives me the chills from playing Bioshock so much. It takes me right back to Rapture. LOVE IT!!!!!

  • This...almost makes me cry. The most beautiful song I've ever heard ;_;

  • this shit go harder on tha car lol

  • @titancurse lmao i'd like to see that

  • 9 fags dislike the video!

  • @SoulSoldToVideogames Thanks, I can read. We don't need any more comments stating that x number of people are [reason] for disliking this video.

  • i listen to this song when i go to sleep

  • Ya know, when you think of it, ADAM was both an advantage and a disadvantage to rapture. If it wasn't for ADAM, so many of the amazing techniological marvels would never had been made, but... it ultimately is what ruined the Rapturian culture.

At any rate, if there's ever a nuclear holocaust, I'm building an underwated refuge and naming it Rapture.

  • @MoonlightSonataTT well if you ever need help building rapture, give me a call .

  • Gosh... how music has changed from this, to computers doing all the work... I love this type of music :) When I'm in bad mood it just help me get through the day.

  • gets the creepy setting in the air while walking down below in rapture saying hi to the your neighbors and the creepy drug addict with the adam

  • Rather hear this than shitty Justin Bieber!

    It's all about 40's and 50's!

  • @Nizmo370Z greatest era for real musicians with real talent no autotune bullshit

  • Rapture is beautiful let's go make it. Bioshock is the most epic fucking game ever, come on guys but I call dibs on being a Big Daddu.

  • @TheDawg412 ok you can be a big daddy but i call dibs on being a Big Sister!

  • listening to this song and reading these comments go strangely well together.

  • ITS SO WONERFUL...IT MAKE ME VERY NICE FEEL......N I REMEMBER FROM MY LIFE SOMETHING A GOOD.. REALLY ..

    THX FOR MUSIC!

  • Bioshock : because injecting yourself with potato-sized neon blue syringes is awesome!

  • @jmada2 Especially when it has a rusty needle and it's just lying on the dirty floor!

  • can't get enough of this song.

  • thanks for the extra song at the end, real nice bonus.

  • life lesson learned from bioshock: injecting yourself with strange needles gives you superpowers

  • @caseythetrojanbear1 hopefully else you end up wth AIDS ;)

  • Suitably insane song for a suitably insane game.

  • an classic of classics *-*

  • holy bollocks..I just got a theory tingle. You know how Elanor says she was stuck in a sort of fever dream? And this song, Dream, is one of the main songs?...did you get it?

  • you can't be angry after listening to this song, it's intoxicating...

  • This old songs, i love it.

That was the best at Bioshock, this old songs ^^

  • Bioshock wouldn't be bioshock without 1940's music

  • i like this music more than modern music,

it make u feel good =D

  • @amvcreator13 yeah xD

  • @amvcreator13 I couldn't agree more, it just makes you just want to sit outside on a rainy day, on a rocking chair, rocking the day away with your Labrador to the side and your double barrel shotgun on the other. good times. :)

  • This game is a masterpiece with the music and the encounters it feels like your in a great movie altogether

  • @metalhead326...a bullet is understood in every language

  • it really sucks that people don't even listen to this kinda music anymore and even if they did they'd say its crap because the know absolutely nothing about music from different periods in time. it really is too bad that people cant just appreciate the classics. alotta people would think the things that im saying are total bull shit. but its true.

  • I love old timey music like this. it never gets old despite how long its been around plus it reminds me of better simpler times. =) and the great thing about this music, is that it doesn't matter how old you are you could still and you can still appreciate it.

  • i LOVE this song. <3

  • this song really captures the heart of bioshock!

  • @bertof993 I agree it really suits bioshock 2,

and i love how this compliments the bioshock 2 story, its soo sad, gives me butterflys

  • @Wegas2k yup! this song meshed perfectly with the game. it also makes me feel sad, which is the mood of the game. very touching song

  • Reading these comments makes me realize that people aren't as bad as they seem. People can be kind and calm..why have we moved from this era of such beautiful music? For what? Just high tempo noise...I can only hope that music makes a loop.

  • Love bioshock. Bioshock and Fallout 3 have brought me into old music :D

  • @ShoeMage same here brother! i like the inkspots from fallout3

  • they should have put this in fallout 3 its a great song

  • i think music is almost the best thing to happen to man kind

  • @neon1457 its the only language that can be understood by everybody!

  • @metalhead326 no its the only that everyone wants to understand o.o they can learn new languages

  • @neon1457 your missing my point, music itself can be heard and appreciated and understood by anybody without any training.

  • @metalhead326 exactly

  • They played "Dream" at my highschool prom, I danced with Rosemarie Locke and was in pure heaven.

  • FUCK YEAR THE TYMES

  • With retro games like bioshock and fallout bringing back the classics, I finally have a reason to listen to my iPod

  • Found my happy place,

...when things look bad outside let your imagination whisk you away to a beautiful place where you walk hand in hand with your love... lets go to a place where you don't have to have a care in the world if you don't want to..

yes... our imagination can be one of the few things to help us coup with the cruel and unrelenting world we live in,

  • Music from the 30's-40's has a hauntingly dreamy tone to it. Makes you want to listen to it forever.

  • 30's-40's music is one of my favourite types of music

  • @Dragonjasper I would rather listen to 30-40's music then to todays music. To me todays music just sucks.

  • i freaken get tears when i listen to this song

  • I like this version of the song, but what I really want to get my hands on is the actual version they used in the trailor which was recorded sometime in the 70's,. To my knowledge, it's too obscure to find on the internet. Pitty.

  • bioshock honestly was a most remembered game that i have play and i hope for a bioshock series to come out on 360 even more a 3rd bioshock.

  • 2:41

  • If only BioShock 2 reached the levels of amazing-ness of this song.

Still a great game but nothing compared to BS 1.

  • @GunGraveTZA if BioShock 1 had: a) good or at the very least half decent endings, and b) didn't get so sloppy in the last hour or so then I'd agree. But imo it's a tie at best.

  • @yootoobdotcomlol Nah. The last hour wasn't as good as the big twist reveal but it was still a great part of the game, and all the endings were great.

    At worst, BioShock 2 is a 8 and BioShock 1 is a 9. At best, BioShock to is a 8.5 and BioShock 1 is a 10.

  • Dream about genetic craze, delirous docters, crazy women (yes you Lamb!), and awesome guys in diver suites, all in a horrifiying scary underwater city?! Ok!

  • It's not scary, it's just old!

  • maybe this is a song youd sing if you were trapped somewhere and you know youre going to die... maybe

  • Lets go and build rapture

  • @Pr00ch The only way that could be done would be (1) A government loan. (2) YEARS of study and research. (3) A large team for construction.

It could be done. Easily, actually, just get those three things and I'll meet you in Pemequid, Maine.

  • atmosphere of bioshock 1 and 2:

    ONE OF BEST!

  • I can see this in a Nightmare on Elm Street movie.

  • @SanasSweetMode yea, i was wonderin' when someone would mention that. Saw it last night. Wasn't too bad like most remakes.

  • Why can't music be like this anymore?

  • @KarasawaL30 If games like Fallout and BioShock keep being made, it may make a comeback :)

  • @KarasawaL30 If I was even slightly musically talented I'd would try to bring back 40's-70's style music. Music is way to loud and angry now. I wish I grew up in a time where music is innocent.

  • @out6of6my6mind No kidding right man to me the 30-70's music was the best espically WWII music.

  • í've drink to many plasmid , now i come to youtube listen old musics like this 8D

  • very nice

  • really beautiful but scary kinda song

  • thank you for sharing...and aloha..

  • GAWWDDD I love this music...Thanks Bioshock for teaching us ignorant people about good music :']

  • this is really what a song is supposed to sound like.

  • @jedwa98 yes it is best game evaaa!!!!! . but why it make war veteran cry?

  • I never realized anything creepier then listening to this music in a old abandoned house in the middle of nowhereon a phonograph... :s

  • @Alfacuria ROFL

  • Big sister doesn't want you playing with me........ O.O haunts me after playing the game! Love the game though it was very gooodddd!! Team Tenenbaum

  • Immortal, time to smoke a pipe!

  • Man I truely love this song...I even bought this for my ipod. It really just puts me in the mood for relaxation lol!!!!!

  • @FireyPanda889 same this song could make a war veteran cry :)

  • @jedwa98 a war veteran who fought in the navy perhaps...

  • Did they take off the title "Sea of Dreams" for Bioshock 2 and just scrap this song from the game completely?

I mean, I'm only on Pauper's (Goddamn) Drop, but I havn't heard it yet.

    Is it there?

  • you hear it for like 1 second in the intro of the game where your led into the room before your forced to kill your self. and yes they did take out the sea of dreams.

  • It was orginally supposed to be in the limbo room in paupers drop but was scarped

  • @Droxxin I can't remember it being in the game itself - but it's just perfect for the trailer, so that's enough for me!

  • good game good song bioshock is the best game and the song is good too

  • @kerojis bioshock is the best game evaaaaaaa

  • you hear this song for like a second in the intro when you walk through the party

  • nice

  • i just got it its awesome

  • this song makes me cry, its so beautiful :)

  • @jojothesurfer My sister's (best friend's) grandpa wrote it about her grandpa. (:

But had it stolen from him by Johnny Mercer. DK

  • amazing

  • mmmmmmmmmm...... calming music and killing psycopaths 2gether? sweet but im afraid that makes me a psyco 2 O.o lol

  • @GummySamurai oh not at all... unless i'm psyco too... hmm haha

  • oh yes, its a very interesting effect, such contrasting moods...just like killer clowns. But you can't deny, this song, and music like it has a certain "magical" quality...

  • and we all love magic now dont we?

  • it's not supposed to be eerie xD but it somewhat is. and i like the 2nd song

  • I love the second song! :D

  • bioshock would not be bioshock without plasmids

  • so true so so true

  • @bioshockman1 niether would Rapture.

  • @bioshockman1 It would

  • @bioshockman1 god damn it Bioshock is not just meant for under water bioshock means another way of living be it on the ocean floor or any other place its a strange way to live now stop this plasmids mean nothing to the game it was just an extra helping hand if you had no ammo

  • @HewieOfHG Well bioshock would be nothing but an FPS underwater without plasmids. Albeit with an amazing story line, it wouldn't stand out as much. Bioshock isn't bioshock without it's plasmids, but be reasonable. The plasmids play such an important role in the city. If there were no plasmids, the citizens wouldn't have gone insane with addiction to ADAM.

  • @HewieOfHG Also, an interesting tidbit: Plasmid technology sort of exists. Only in it's rawest form. You know how Brigid explains the plasmids healing capabilities? The material in the lining of a pigs stomach can regrow human nerves, muscle and flesh.
