Aprilia wins hands down, watch my videos I commute around one of the busyist places in the UK and it handles perfectly fine, why do people accociate a comuting bike with a 4t, my aprilia copes perfectly fine with comuting, 1st will do about 3mph and so about walking pace without having to slip the clutch. A YZF isn't more reliable either it's how to look after the bike, you might have to keep ontop of your RS doesn't mean that it's less reliable atall. Rs125 > YZF125R
@AZZ3R1 too right mate most people say rs 50 or 125s are sooo unreliable but what they dont get is that the rs revvs at like 13000 revs and the yamaha only about 10 both redlining if u keep on top or ur rs and use quality 2stroke oil and dont rag the nuts of ov it it should be fine for up to 15000 miles or more befor having a piston and head replacement and if u can do it urself it will only cost around £75 or a garage will do it for around £125-£150 rs125 FTW!!!!!!
Aprillia RS = Rider who wants; Fun/excitement and a buzz.
Yamaha YZF = Rider who wants; Commuting/Practicality/Show not go.
I have owned both a 4-stroke and a 2-stroke 125cc and i can say that as soon as i went for a spin on the 2-stroke, i fell in love, the power, acceleration, sound, feel, smell (of the good quality oil) when whizzing past shit all over the 4-stroke. All in all, if you want a small cc bike for shits and giggles go for a 2-stroke.
@whatevaUsay2 how the fuck could you be the bet on the road with a 125cc bike? the aprilia might be able to roll with the ninja 250r but with a 600 or perhaps even 1000cc bikes it has no chance....but if you buy a rs you atleast wont be the slowest on the road as you would be with the yamaha
@superVENE94 seriously the yamaha gets ONLY 22 bhp with a 180cc kit!? and even if you put this kit on the r125 it is no where near a full power aprilia or unrestricted cagiva mito
@PolishLukas I'd say rs125 (and not just because i own one) but because of:
-better acceleration
-higher top end
-2stroke sound
-and the engine is not as "complicated" as a 4stroke in terms of maintenance
and i don't think that the 4stroke yamaha's are more reliable, some people might think they're better if you're gonna use them for commuting to work, but then again, don't you like to get home a little bit earlier from work?
oooh look! i can see some chalk in the corner of my bedroom! now lets compare it with some cheese. That is what comparing these bikes is like. 4T yammy = great learner bike, reliable, quick enough, comfy, good for taller riders, 2T aprillia = Great race bike, needs SHIT loads of engine rebuilds if you cane it and an unpleasent sound
what people dont understand is that aprilia built the rs125 to go fast and look great...just like the higer end bikes.....yamaha have tried to create a great learners bike that can still compete with others......comparing these two is like stupid cause even though they look the same...they have totaly different purposes
@bboyrules Aside from the fact that the Yamaha is a 4 stroke whilst the Aprilia is a 2 stroke? LOL... no matter what the tune, RS125 can never beat the RS125.
@SASJOE08 the main reason why 2 strokes have a bad name in the first place is because of kids. thrashing the little 50s about the streets at like 3 am. kids wrecked the 2 stroke market ^^
i love the 2 stroke power, but i also love the 4 stroke sound, i hate the tinny 2 stroke sound and i have the 4 stroke lack of power so either way cant win
I have owned rs 125 fp and now I own a yam yzf r 125 with full scorpion system sounds the dogs may not be as quick but starts every time and in like my Aprilia which had only done 1200 miles had two engine rebulds and had nearly ever mechanical part replaced eventually seized at 74 mph and I done every thing by the book rs125 us a nice bike but nit a practical one buy a yamaha every day it's reliable and mine at mo will get 82 mph so it's not bad beats all the other 4 stroke 125
@Littlemac1975 what so you blew ur rs up every 600 miles? it takes about 1000 miles to run the gearbox in so you were obviously not looking after it. ive done 2500 miles on mine up to now , warm it up every morning then ride it gently down the road until its warmed up then give it rock all. not one problem high quality two stroke oil it cant go wrong!
@Littlemac1975 mate there is no way an aprilia wud break down twice in 1200 miles, u shud have looked after it abit better than u wud hav hated the yamaha
@Littlemac1975 i had one of those, they can keep up with a 200cc import crosser road legal which theyre quite fast for a chinese so if ur gna get a new 125 go with yzfr ! no problems then
@Littlemac1975 looool how old was this rs 125? u must have fucking give it a serius rag in because ive done 20k on mine and all i do is clean it and change the oil
@leenichols2003 i totaly agree. Buy a Aprilia rs 125, one of the older versions. They run for long and perfectly and they are cheap :) i got a rs125 2001 model
@leenichols2003 that's funny, because everyone i know with an rs125 says it costs more than the bike to maintain. and everything always needs repairing. but there a very nice bike dont get me wrong.
blob blob blob blob blob blob blob blob
ahh the sount of the yzf r125

aprilia rs = 34 bhp , yzf = 14 bhp, (being generus)
aprilia rs = 0-60 mph 7 seconds at most, yzf = 14 seconds.
aprilia rs = top speed 100 mph easly, more. yzf = 75 mph.
aprilia rs = £3800 , yzf £4200..
and if your aprilia is unreliable, your doing it wrong.
